Revisiting this video again I noticed the slushy sounds Wander makes at 5:03 do to his clothing being soaking wet. The dev's at Bluepoint Games said that if the game gets another release in the future (let's hope that's next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary) one thing they will add is having water dripping off Wander's clothing when he exits a body of water. Now that SONY owns Bluepoint Games there's at least a chance we'll get a Definitive Edition this game as well as a full remake of "ICO". Let's keep our fingers crossed.
You can also swim over to that other rock to the left. And from there you can actually swim all the way over to the base of the cliff on the opposite side. If you are on top of that other cliff, you can jump off & land in the ocean & carefully swim back to the beach & run around briefly before the camera re-adjusts. It's like you temporary see yourself in first person from a hawks point of view.

I mean, it looks like a great opportunity for a secret, although it clearly isn't. It's just that for an oversight it leads to a surprisingly small amount of problems (I was sure you would just fall through the ground beyond the rock in the water)

The area this happens in is supposed to be inaccessible. The waves will push you back before you get to that rock, and the water that has no swimming functionality for wander leads me to believe the devs never intended for wander to get here. But yeah that coin you are talking about is around this beach, but it is not where this glitch is occuring.
I’m pretty sure that isn’t even supposed to be the beach from ico it doesn’t look like it at all. I get this is a remaster of sotc but the beach in ico was way wider from the “wall” to the ocean and didn’t have seaweed all over it.
People speculate that Shadow Of Colossus and Ico are like 100 to 1000s years apart for various reasons and theories, so maybe this could actually be the beach from Ico, but cliffs haven't been eroded yet.

If you beat the game, even in the original, you can pray at the statues in main castle area in your NG+ file. It lets you do a time attack for the collosus, and every 2 you beat gives you a new item. Hard mode and easy mode have different items, but the ps4 game lets you get all items in one save file.
Yeah, it's not super-useful, as there are still insta-kill areas everywhere, but it is fun, and can get you into some places that you couldn't reach otherwise, especially when you open and close the parachute repeatedly, as per this video.
Gotta beat i think 14 of the colossus in hard time attack mode. After beating the game once in hard mode, go to the shrines of the colossus in the temple you start at. Go up to any of them and press circle. It will let you fight that colossus, do it faster than the time to complete it. Every 2 colossus beat gives you a reward
If you beat the game in hard mode, you can press circle by the statues in the temple in the new game + mode. Doing so lets you fight the colossus in a time attack mode. I believe beating 14 of them in total gives you the parachute
