  • Justin Willmer runs us through the gear for targeting bream on the flats and drop offs, before hitting the water with his dad in search of a few. A quick session around the top of a large high tide and start of the run out produces a few, fishing the edge of the flats and an area that drops down to 2-3m of undulating sand bottom with patches of weed. Fish on!

10lb light for brim, my Pb is 50cm bream on 10lb line. I would say 10lb is the perfect all-rounder setup. You can catch whiting, bream, and pinkies all day long on 10lb mainline by just changing your leader size appropriately.
My Pb snapper is 57cm on 10lb, dads is 68cm on 10lb and it took a run over 100m (we have caught bigger on heavier line). You just have to be prepared to fight the fish not bully them in.

Some cracker bream mate! Whenever I use slim swims I seem to catch pike haha

Hey ChrispyyWings, pike are good fun, great in the smoker and have saved a few sessions, so could be worse ;) Pike love the weed and structure like ramps and jetties, so maybe try some rubble patches or mangrove edges with the Slim SwimZ, it's deadly. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

Its a fish attractant mate they work nicely with plastics, helps the fish hold on a little bit longer to get the strike on them. He's using Pro-Cure Super Gel Scent, I like the S - Factor from squidgies.

I have to laugh at all the guys who wear all that clothing! It's a joke! I fish in Florida a few days a week in shorts, white t-shirt and sneakers! You guys afraid of getting a little vitamin D?

Hey @coryboyd7958, Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. About 2 out of 3 Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer before the age of 70. We love our fishing and outdoor activities and choose to stay safe while out on the water. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
