  • In collaboration with the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) and UNCTAD, GIZ is implementing the Digitising Global Maritime Trade Project (DGMT) to facilitate trade in Cambodia.
The DGMT project aims to enable GDCE and businesses to move from paper-based documents to exchanging digital documents for maritime trade. By exchanging digital documents, GDCE and businesses will reap significant benefits, including expedited clearance processes (#pre-arrival processing) and substantial cost savings. This will further increase Cambodia’s competitiveness in international supply chains.
To ensure the successful implementation of these reforms, the DGMT project is fostering a collaborative approach by actively engaging with the local and international business community. This open dialogue will ensure that the digitization efforts align with the specific needs and expectations of stakeholders.
The project is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the umbrella of the #develoPPP programme in cooperation with UNCTAD.
