  • About Pushpanjali :
Pushpanjali is a traditional dance piece that is typically performed at the beginning of a dance recital as an offering of flowers to the gods, teachers, and the audience. The word "Pushpanjali" is derived from two Sanskrit words - "pushpam" meaning flowers and "anjali" meaning offering with folded hands.
Pushpanjali is a way for dancers to invoke the blessings of the divine, seek the guidance and blessings of their gurus (teachers), and offer respects to the audience. It serves as an auspicious start to a Bharatanatyam performance, setting the mood and creating a sacred atmosphere for the rest of the recital.
