This game looks fun as hell, reminds me a bit more of Vagante than Spelunky, but they're all very similar types of games. I definitely feel you on the "missed opportunity" for games (though I'll just play them regardless). I moreso feel that there's way too many games that I wanna play and I just can't play them all :(
The developers put a lot of love and care into this game. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with your audience! 😊✨ Just a reminder: the game is also available on Nintendo Switch!
Yeah kindda! It's weird because Olexa has always said that he doesn't play Vagante because "there is too much going on". I don't think so compared to this game
That was one of our sources of inspiration :) I've played a lot of Vagante (and other roguelike platformers) during development (particularly rogue, mage and knight classes).
lmaoo when you said 2018 was 7 years ago , i thought - man his math is waaay off….oh wait….. o.o …. hahah it’s stilllll a jumpscare for me , to hear that for some reason
I don’t really get that limbo, hard to check out state of an unpopular game take. For a game reviewer of sorts, it feels like it should be incentive enough to have an opportunity to *make* it a bit more popular. Like, you have a platform and a way to make any gem not-so-hidden anymore and that’s cool as hell
UA-cam algorithm will still take over in these scenarios. Oftentimes a game that isn’t trending at all is going to perform worse. But a game that is trending a LOT is also going to perform worse, because there’s more competition. It’s a really delicate balance. Yes I’m blessed to be in a position where my channel is big enough to kinda control some of the tides of the algorithm there but if there’s new games out that are gaining traction in the space, I have to prioritize those over a game with zero traction so I can maximize that view potential. It’s all a bunch of mumbo jumbo if I’m honest, understanding the algorithm and content creation lol
@ fair enough, the algorithm has its own, mysterious ways… Just wanted to say that I actually started playing a few games because of yt reviews/showcases like yours and there’s a chance I would have never considerer (or even heard of) these games otherwise.
Oh definitely! I still love covering games that are absolutely not even remotely known, but it’s typically much more work to get a compelling title and thumbnail that will help drive it in the algo lol
Hi, there are a couple of reasons why the game didn’t gain as much awareness: - Release timing: late September 2024 ended up being an unusually busy month for major game releases-something I wish I had been able to time better. - Early Access period: We learned the hard way that being in Early Access for too long can cause the visibility to be penalized on Steam, even if the final game is completely different. Video playthroughs like this are a huge help!
you saying how long this has been game was in dev reminds me of one of my favorite games, Caves of Qud. An oldschool roguelike that came into 1.0 in December of last year. It was in dev for 17 years. You may like it but its very hard.
i tried to watch this? i really wanted to? but you speaking as if every single thing you say is a question? is really off putting? i'm sure you understand?
Thanks so much for checking out our game ❤!
Awesome to see a master of roguelikes in action ✨ 💫!
I bet Tyler's inbox is FULL of the most amazing games we've never heard of
February gonna be fun
February is my birthday month too! I enjoy it more since I watch Olexa's channel.
And also a metric ton of bad ones, and shameless copycat ones.
I hope this video does really well, a series of this would be cool

The plant that came through the floor gave me Terraria vibes
Well spotted, the man snapper enemy types are a reference to Terraria.

The timing is impeccable
I understand that the game is good. But not for me: I play not accurate, so it's almost sad to lose because your hands are 🦀.
