I'm really tired of humans saying that Jesus was tempted by Satan. Satan tried and failed to tempt Jesus. This is what happened and should be told this way. You are putting Jesus down, and acting like He was as weak as humans in nature. No. Jesus always obeyed God the Father in all things and in all ways 100%. His thoughts never strayed, and His conscience was in tune with God. Think about this, please. Peace be with you.
I am going to repost a comment to you that I answered to someone below who asked how could God be tempted (Jesus). Here is the answer I gave.
"This is a question that would require an answer that would be too long to reply in a comment so I will condense it. In the Old Testament, we are told that God can't be tempted and we are all told not to tempt the Lord. Even Jesus said "Don't tempt the Lord thy God" The word tempt today means "to entice or attempt to entice (someone) to do or acquire something that they find attractive but know to be wrong or not beneficial". That's the general meaning today. When the Bible was written the word meant that also but it also meant "To put to the test". We are not to put God to the test.
God can not be tempted to do evil, to do something that is wrong. It's not in His nature.
In some passages in the Bible, the writers were using the term to mean we must not put God to the test. Here is the meaning. God has made it clear that He will one day judge sin. When we sin, we are putting God to the test to determine whether or not He will react to our sin by doing what He has stated that He will do in response to our transgression. It is not our place to "test" the bounds of God's grace; rather, we should obey what He has commanded us to do.
Now when it comes to the New Testament where we are told Satan tempted Jesus, there are two pieces of information that are necessary to understand (if Jesus is God then how could he be tempted). The hypostatic union of Christ's two natures is the first thing that needs to be kept in mind by us. Jesus possessed both human and divine characteristics at the same time. He was both fully man and fully God at the same time when He was here on earth. He had a fully human nature; however, He was without sin (sinless).
Second, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the distinction between the two types of enticement: internal and external. Jesus' temptation was from an external source. He didn't eat for 40 days and was hungry. But internally He was God and did not have a sinful nature as we do. We however have a sinful nature that we inherited from Adam. We are tempted in our hearts because of this sinful nature. That is the difference. This is a shortened answer that I hope makes sense."
The only reason I said Jesus was tempted by Satan is because The New Testament clearly tells us He was in many different verses in several of the books of the New Testament. The reason some people have a hard time with that is because they forget that Jesus was FULLY MAN and FULLY GOD at the same time. As a man, His flesh was weak as ours. He would get hungry, feel sadness, and pain, and bleed if cut and aged, etc. However, being FULLY GOD at the same time Jesus didn't have a sinful nature like we do and could not be tempted internally because He cannot do anything that is wrong. His body was tempted.

I prayed this prayer for the first time, i was struggling last night and today in the morning with anxiety, negative thoughts and doubt but now i realized it was all again a temptation from satan. I went 3 days without even on a fast and the whole Spirit gave me a supernatural ability to not be hungry, but I cannot imagine going 40 days and 40 nights without eating I hope he never wants me to do that.
40 Days is a long time. I don't think I'll try that anytime soon. The longest one I have ever done is 21 days with just water and no food. I can't imagine 40 days.
Christ is the way. Do what he did. Fast from ALL things except sleep, drink, and use the toilet. Be alone. Only then does the door open. Hide yourself away when you fast so that you are not tempted to brag or tell others.
This is the simplest and best prayer which covers all needed in this life..

Something I also found is that the devil attempts to justify your hatred. Be careful when you find yourself with someone who only lets you see only the bad and nothing good out of anything in your life. As humans, we are naturally drawn towards negative things, the news for example. Learn to accept the struggles of the world.

Beautiful video. Excellent reminder of looking to Jesus whenever we are tempted by the evil one. I am a sinner. I like to sin. I try to get away from sin but it's always there tempting me and I fall to sin because I am weak. Only with the help of Jesus is it possible for me to turn away from sin. But I keep failing because I'm weak. I don't turn my eyes to Jesus. I would rather keep sinning because it makes me feel good temporarily. This is my weakness. There may come a day where I am able to turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. But I'm not there yet. God's grace is needed to turn me fully to Jesus.

I became heavily tempted to sin and then I prayed. I asked Jesus to help me battle this temptation. Then right after I prayed I found this video in my feed. I already knew the story of Jesus being tempted but I figured I would watch it. I watched every minute of this. The spirit 100% put this video in my feed to help me not commit sin. God is real and Jesus is his son. He died for our sins and rose on the third day! This is the truth!!!

Satan tempted HIM to see if he was really a man. When he tempted Eve he found her inner needs. He had to tempt Jesus just to see. He knew the outcome but had to probe for weakness. It's what he does.

The three temptations by Satan in the wilderness were not the only temptations our Lord ever suffered on Earth. We read in Luke 4:2 that He was tempted by the devil for forty days, but He was undoubtedly tempted at other times (Luke 4:13; Matthew 16:21-23; Luke 22:42), and yet in all this He was without sin or compromise. Although some have suggested that the Lord’s period of fasting compares with that of both Moses (Exodus 34:28) and Elijah (1 Kings 19:8), the main point is how the Lord deals with temptation in the light of His humanity.
It is because He is human, and made like us in every way, that He could do three vital things: 1) destroy the devil’s power and free those who were held in slavery by their fear of death (Hebrews 2:15); 2) become a merciful and faithful High Priest in service to God and atone for our sins (Hebrews 2:17); and 3) be the One who is able to sympathize with us in all our weaknesses and infirmities (Hebrews 4:15). Our Lord’s human nature enables Him to sympathize with our own weaknesses, because He was subjected to weakness, too. More importantly, we have a High Priest who is able to intercede on our behalf and provide the grace of forgiveness.
Temptation is never as great as when one has made a public declaration of faith as did our Lord when He was baptized in the Jordan (Matthew 3:13-17). However, we also note that, during this time of exhaustive testing, our Lord was also ministered to by angels, a mystery indeed that the omnipotent One should condescend to receive such help from lesser beings! Here is a beautiful description of the ministry that His people also benefit from. During times of testing and trial, we too are aided by angels who are ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14).
Jesus’ temptations follow three patterns that are common to all men. The first temptation concerns the lust of the flesh (Matthew 4:3-4). Our Lord is hungry, and the devil tempts Him to convert stones into bread, but He replies with Scripture, quoting Deuteronomy 8:3. The second temptation concerns the pride of life (Matthew 4:5-7), and here the devil uses a verse of Scripture (Psalm 91:11-12), but the Lord replies again with Scripture to the contrary (Deuteronomy 6:16), stating that it is wrong for Him to abuse His own powers. The third temptation concerns the lust of the eyes (Matthew 4:8-10), and if any quick route to the Messiahship could be attained, bypassing the passion and crucifixion for which He had originally come, this was the way. The devil already had control over the kingdoms of the world (Ephesians 2:2) but was now ready to give everything to Christ in return for His allegiance. But the mere thought almost causes the Lord’s divine nature to shudder at such a concept and He replies sharply, “You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only” (Deuteronomy 6:13).
There are many temptations that we sadly fall into because our flesh is naturally weak, but we have a God who will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear; He will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). We can therefore be victorious and then will thank the Lord for deliverance from temptation. Jesus’ experience in the desert helps us to see these common temptations that keep us from serving God effectively. Furthermore, we learn from Jesus’ response to the temptations exactly how we are to respond-with Scripture. The forces of evil come to us with a myriad of temptations, but all have the same three things at their core: lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. We can only recognize and combat these temptations by saturating our hearts and minds with the Truth. The armor of a Christian solider in the spiritual battle of life includes only one offensive weapon, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Knowing the Bible intimately will put the Sword in our hands and enable us to be victorious over temptations.

It would be great if Christians everywhere stood up for Jesus not by arguing, discussing, preaching and evangalising but by being open about our Lord......name your business the Christian bakery, gas station (serving everyone not just Christians), wear Jesus T shirts, take your bible and Rosary to work and school, watch and buy Christian, choose Jesus over friends - you may not be able to stop them seeing you as ignorant and open for attacks.. Talking is good but very difficult to do with people who dont believe and actually hate our religion.
