So basically, it turns out that Shadow is combined of four characters from popular franchises that mostly describes his dark/solo/hero side, and these four movie characters should definitely suffice: 1. The Dark Knight in the Sega universe 2. The Scar in the Sega universe 3. The Darth Vader in the Sega universe 4. The Dark Heart of in the Sega universe

Actually, most of the endings on Shadow are non-canonical, and in them he actually does kill Eggman, Sonic, General whatshisface and (offscreen but implied) the president of the United States. It's a hilarious game, I'd recommend picking up a copy.
