@@edjackson4389 Movie as a whole sure I guess I see it, but that opening music scene into the car chase has got to be one of the greatest in history of car scenes.
@@TristenLuneack It was about half as good as the opening of Drive six years earlier. Everything about Baby Driver was just a little too goofy. That can work sometimes if there's great comedy to go with it, but it didn't have that either. This is all just my opinion. If you enjoyed it that's awesome.
Funnily enough, the last American werewolf in London also had a major effect on me when I watched it when I was 10. Probably explains my love of soundtracks
@InCinematic she wasn't as famous as now back then, I remembered thinking she was beautiful but didn't bother to look her up. I mean c'mon the supporting actors lineup was WOW: Kevin Spacey (back then), Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Jon Bernthal. I never even heard of Ansel Elgort before Baby Driver
Great analysis as always, InCinematic! And thanks for showing some director's(?) commentary. I think we should add a honorable mention - How to train a dragon, especially the first one. The "Downed dragon" perfectly portraits both Toothless and Hiccups emotions, adds the atmosphere and still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it to this day!
LMAO! I totally forgot that you said Baby Driver would be in the next video. So I was watching the first scene thinking, "never heard of this movie or song but I kinda reminds me of Baby Driver". 😂😂😂
Probably my favorite music movie is The Social Network. It's not quite as tightly integrated with the action as Baby Driver, but there are many scenes where, even if there is dialogue, the music does all the talking in terms of setting the mood and showing you how the characters feel. Obvious highlights include the FaceSmash sequence of In Motion and A Familiar Taste, the rowing scene with In the Hall of the Mountain King, and of course the club scene. Trent and Atticus' other scores are fantastic for similar reasons, Watchmen and Challengers come to mind, but Social Network is my favorite.
Ah yes Noelle Fielding, i make fun but your spot on Baby Driver and Edgar Wright are the best examples of licensed music in film in some ways just as good as the Hans Zimmer soundtracks Christopher Nolan and Denis Villenuve use
George Lucas had a different song for each scene in American Graffiti. He would play it over and over as he wrote that particular scene and then used in the sound track. Not as intricate as Baby Driver, but it was well received and arguably his breakout movie.
My favourite part of the music video is the one in the comments saying that if any music video begging to turn into a movie, that'd be it. Behold, many years later, that's exactly what happened.
Do you also wander through life and at times think, "that would be a great song for this situation"? Or here a few words and start singing a song that feature those lyrics?
Hudson Hawk, 1991 had Bruce Willis and his mentor choosing music that had the run time they needed for how long a theft took and then they sang it as the robbed a museum or bank or whatever.
So in 'Baby Driver' he did what music video directors do all the time? The adoration of Edgar Wright films is one of the great mysteries of the modern world.
What song used by Edgar Wright is your favorite? I can tell you that Alabama Song has been stuck in my head all week.
@@InCinematic Never Never Gonna Give Ya Up from baby driver, Jon Hamm drinking coffee with that music was amazing scene
Working on sound design like that sounds like a dream, with the amount of creativity you’d be able to pour into those scenes
What’s crazy, is due to my tinnitus I didn’t realize the ringing to demonstrate tinnitus was in the film.
That's really interesting. If I may ask, do you do something similar to drown it out?
@@InCinematic Yes, music helps. But through the years I have just learned to deal with it.
Baby Driver is a magnificent blending of music and action. A masterpiece of modern cinema.
It tried too hard to be cool to ever be truly cool. I do like Wrights other movies tho

@edjackson4389 Heck yeah love Drive. Great film, very different atmosphere than baby driver of course, I'd have a hard time picking between em.
so the thumbnail is clickbait?
How? The video is about Baby Driver. She's in the film...
Is the image from the movie?
Lol, what's the attractive woman's name please?! 🤔😇🤗😎

Yep
baby driver is best musical movie ever made
@@계정부-o5u It's the best non-musical musical

My dad showed me that film when I was around 10. It definitely left an impression
The car chase to Brighton Rock in baby driver is the best use of Queen music in cinema ever, and there is a lot of competition.
Noah Feilding is not from the great british bakeoff. He is Vincey Princey from the mighty boosh.
I tried so hard to get good footage of him playing Vincey, but the disc arrived late
@@InCinematic what about Richmond from the i.t. crowd? From goth to boss.
OK, this was wonderful. Thanks, I hung on every word.
I'm convinced the Micheal Peña's montage narration in Ant-Man was 💯 Edgar Wright. It's his style
It is. Edgar was the first director of the movie, but Marvel fired him.
Was wondering which Eliza Gonzalez movie has great music in it. Then Baby Driver showed up, I was "oh yeah, that was her with Jon Hamm"
A power couple

Magnolia is a great example of how intrinsically linked the songs are to the movie.

The music in Limitless is why the film is so good. ✌🏼🌍

That approach seems to be a common theme for movies with good music.
That’s cool. Dope video
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
When are we going g to get the sequel to this fantastic film?
The ever charismatic Noel Fielding isn't the guy from The Great British Bake-off, he's first and foremost the fantastic Richmond from The IT Crowd.
Have to disagree politely, for me it’s the mighty boosh
what is the name of the song in this video which starts at 4:13?
Really enjoyable video
That's how I have written EVERY story, I have ever worked on. 5-8 songs per scene, write based off each song, select the one I like the best. Repeat.
My favourite part of the music video is the one in the comments saying that if any music video begging to turn into a movie, that'd be it. Behold, many years later, that's exactly what happened.

2nd! 😂
Way to feminize the pronunciation of his name. Totally didn't make you look provincial and unworldly.
Noel is just horrible to watch, baby driver is the opposite of that experience.
Clickbait detected. Dislike button pressed.
Right, so no Bohemian Rhapsody in Wayne's World ? I'm afraid I can't continue to watch all this mediocrity.
I've heard that Baby Driver is good, but there's a good chance I'll never watch it because the name is so unappealing, even off-putting.
It's a guy's name? Not like... a baby who drives, or someone who drives babies? That's even worse.
Let’s set the record straight ‘Edgar Wrights fast editing style’ is not his - he didn’t invent it, he didn’t come up with it, he doesn’t own it.
The fact that you introduced him from Bake Off And not IT Crowd…. 🫢
