So this is the base system? I have my truck ordered but already know I'm going to do what you're doing. Crutchfield is saying they're 6.5 in the door though, yours look like 6x9s? Can I ask what they are,? Also, what tweeters you went with? No center speaker in the base setup?
Yes. Base system. No center speaker. The front is 6x9 with tweeters in the A pillars and the rear is 6.5. I went with the PowerBass speakers that Crutchfield recommended if you weren’t planning on adding an amp to power them. I used 2020 as the MY in the “What fits my car?” search since they don’t have complete information for 2021+ yet. The speakers are the same. I’m very happy with them and am adding a small powered sub soon to round things out.
Would love to see more videos on your audio setup. I have a 21 XLT 302A but I’m not sure if the speakers are any different than the STX. Been thinking about upgrading them and adding a small sub but I’ve also been strongly considering adding some sound deadening material. Did you add any sound deadening when you installed your speakers?
I think the 302A may have a center speaker? But unless you have the B&O upgrade I believe the rest is the same. No sound deadening. I went with a Rockford Fosgate powered 8” sub. I didn’t do the install so I didn’t take any videos, but it sounds great for my tastes. Just loud enough to wiggle the mirror a bit, but not so much that my neighbors know I’m coming down the street.
@@randomstuff25 Thanks for the reply! Yeah no B&O and it does have a center speaker. I'm curious how beneficial adding sound deadening would be with these new trucks.
Worked perfectly thanks!
Glad it helped
How much better do these sound over stock? Not crazy with the fact my Lariat Powerboost didn't come with the B&O
They sound a lot better. I’m getting a small powered sub installed next week to round it out, but I would be happy with just the new speakers.
Thanks for the video! Once the door panel is removed, can the speaker cover be replaced easily? I'm having a hard time finding anything online.
I believe the speaker grill is built into the door panel.

@@ryanmoyer1 I don’t think it could hurt anything. The more sound deadening the better.
Also, subbed for #400. Keep the content coming!
