The damage is just way too high in this game all across the board, why does making 1 mistake cause you to lose 80% of your hp?

I understand how it looks. But just look at all the defense mechanics. Without that high damage the game would be boring, and the explosiveness adds to the fun.

if i went to f7 and the game was like every other fighting game with low damage the f7 players would get extremely frustrated, if i have a friend play the game and he learns even one combo he will feel like he has a small chance of winning. now if i took that same friend and played tekken against him i would absolutely destroy him and he would never play again. if you want more players in the fcg (which also means bigger prize pools) then you have to either make the game so insanely easy that new players can beat better players easily, or make it so they feel like they have a chance. If you put me in tekken and i lose 5 matches in a row im done for the day. if i lose 50 matches in guilty gear it still feels like im doing something

@@rickkim2931 Im interested in Guilty gear but all this stuff looks super complicated and the only fighting game i have experience on is Smash on the switch. do you think this game is easy to pick up for newer players without any prior knowledge because this stuff looks really fun

@@pranavk8293 i'm new to the fgc as well and just picked up ggst last week. before that my entire experience w/ fighting games was button mashing in Smash. i had no prior knowledge of fighters like you. that being said, ggst is so incredibly beginner friendly and great at introducing you to fighting game mechanics that after a week i feel like i'm 10 times better than when i started and actually have a grasp of how fighting games work now. the movesets and inputs in this game are also incredibly accessible and intuitive so u don't have to worry about spending hours just to memorize all the movesets of a character.
from one newbie to another, ggst is incredibly worth and incredibly fun. not to mention the ost and animation is top tier. it has fully ignited my interest in the fgc.
