Let's head out for a stroll down memory lane as we follow the stories of families adjusting to life in a new place. This vintage footage is from early 1980 when the United Nations had just opened the UNO City or Vienna International Center (VIC) across the Danube in the 22nd district, a sleepy and forgotten part of the city at that time. See footage of the city frozen in a time when Vienna was the sleepy edge of western Europe, the Votivkirche unrecognizable and black with soot, classic trams or "Strassenbahn" and the Naschmarkt when it wasn't a hipster tourist trap.
