Why are fish disappearing from the Baltic Sea?

More and more often, fishermen from Sopot return from the sea with empty nets. Tourists visiting the Baltic Coast can buy fresh fish at their stores for only a few months a year. At the same time, the levels of microplastics, heavy metals, and pesticides in the seas and oceans continue to rise. Dr Michael Lintner investigates the impact of these pollutants on the microorganisms at the base of the food chain that ultimately leads to humans.

Z całym szacunkiem dla pana rybaka z Sopotu, który się wypowiada w reportażu, ale to jego koledzy i on sam przyczynili się do tego, że Bałtyk został przełowiony. Dopiero gdy Unia zaczęła płacić ekwiwalent za okresy ochronne, to polscy rybacy łaskawie zgodzili się ich przestrzegać. Na pewno problem jest wieloaspektowy, ale rybacy dołożyli do niego swoją cegiełkę.
