There was no moral judgement on whether the surgery is appropriate or not.
It seems like the entire purpose of playing the video was to just to stoke vitriol against the doctor because of how he looks and talks.

The problem is that "leaving the room" isn't just a childish display of opposition and refusal to debate, but also has certain implications to the process itself. These Democrats can now freely claim that they "are not aware" of whatever information was presented there. It renders the entire system a farce, and that's a good thing. Democracy may be the best man-made political system in history, but the human error weighs too heavily on it, and for some inexplicable reason, our tendency for degeneracy seems to keep perpetuating and endless cycle of hubris, over and over. I mean, the very fact that we are discussing "gender affirming surgery" which is nothing else than bodily mutilation, and for CHILDREN of all things..... Walking out only causes people to question the integrity and commitment to their view on the benefits of gender affirming care, etc. Its kind of like when the school boards shuts down and cuts off a parent who stands up during the meeting and reads the sexually explicit resources ( all in the name of gender affirming equality, inclusion, and exploration, etc ) found in school libraries. If you believe in this stuff then have cajones to face it.

I’ve been a physician for 30+ years and what that questionable surgeon (if he is one) is doing is nothing more than child abuse and child molestation. The lawmakers, the institutions, and the surgeons should be held accountable.

Up until a few years ago most states would not allow a 25 year old woman with no children to have a tubal ligation, because they didn't think she was mature enough to decide if she wanted kids or not, and now they are allowing, or want to allow children to take life altering meds and surgery to get rid of their sex organs and trade them in for ones that don't work.

Wait, I remember reading up on this a few years ago when a friend told me about it. And she described it exactly as you did, but when I looked into it, it wasn't because people thought that 25-year-old women weren't mature. It's because the women would then regret their decisions and sue the doctors and institutions that performed the surgery that they asked for. So doctors just stopped doing the surgeries to avoid the issue.
Interestingly enough, this is what's happening now with adults that got transitioned as kids. The adults are coming out and saying that they were taken advantage of. Of course, the LGBT community are decrying these individuals as never being transgender even though they got the surgeries. It's truly horrific stuff.

Knowing that they have to cut tissue from other healthy organs diminishing the function of those healthy organs to do this should be a cause to NOT allow this surgery at all. The Democrats leaving the room should have their vote denied on this for not allowing information to be shown to them. The Democrat component of the house is a joke.

Second, I was taught, if the parents were religious nuts, and the child need a life saving procedure, and they say no, for religious reasons, I pack their bags, and if I'm considerate, pray with them.
