That’s a normal side effect of trapping the ball under your feet as opposed to with the top of your foot. Achievable if the ball is coming in at a angle to the ground as opposed to straight down from the top.
I remember doing that once when I played left back in the school football team, a big high goal kick was headed my way, so high I was reluctant (scared of brain damage) to head it. So I though I'd try and trap it. Somewhat surprisingly to me (and to those watching by the looks of it) I trapped it dead, not as gracefully as that guy though.(just noticed it was Berbatov, normal for him I guess), then I knock through a long assist for the right winger to score! Made my day! The own goal I scored later put the dampers on things though!

imo, suarez's was the best of the lot. the ability to kill a 70 yard pass on the chest while on the run and under pressure from a defender and having the awareness to take it around the keeper consolidates suarez's spot as the greatest #9 of this generation

Zidane, Bergkamp, Roberto Baggio, Iniesta & of course Leo Messi- The best ball controllers. Zidane has elegance, Bergkamp was a genius, Baggio had finesse, Iniesta the Maestro, and Leo Messi the Greatest footballer I've ever seen, the first time touch he has and the control he has when dribbling at high speed with the ball glued to his foot is something special. Not the flashiest with the ball, but the most effective in the sense that the ball never leaves more than 20cm from him, he is simply a ball whisperer.

Most of them are average first touches for a Pro Footballer at the top level. They are great, but you expect them to control the ball when given so much time and space. The best ball control by far was by Zidane at 1:15, as he used his first touch to get past a defender.
