My OCD gave me anxiety looking at the uneven cabinetry doors on the smidge teardrop unit🤣

I own a smidge teardrop and took it back to the cabinetry sorted as it was very uneven. Now 2 years on it is uneven again so I think the general movement throws it out...continually. Not very happy with the overall build of my smidge teardrop.

Interesting comment, from the looks of it they cnc everything so the issues would be hinge or hinge screws.

Mate, your awesome 😁👍 thankyou for your honest opinion, it actually helped me alot, as I'm still learning about teardrop campers, but want to know as much as I can before I buy one

Don't apologise for sharing your opinions and experience... Just state that they are your own... And may differ from others... But really insightful observations which must of us need before dropping a bundle on a small camper... Thank you

We have the Stockman Rover Intrepid model (middle one) and it has been fantastic for the 2 years we have owned it for.
We are just about to do the big lap and will be living out of it for the next year or two.

Интересный ролик получился. И некоторые кемперы очень понравились. И формат классный, жаль только видео корот4им получилось.

Thanks for making this for us, very much appreciated! I'm new to all this caravan/teardrop world as I've been using my Wrangler with roof top tent so excuse my ignorance on the topic. I'm dismayed by the price of these little campers. It seems to me that they cost what a full size caravan used to cost 5 years ago and full size caravans now cost what an actual house used to cost 25 years ago... I understand economics and well versed in inflation...but this all seems beyond the pale to be honest. It seems I won't be able to afford any of these and clearly I've made bad choices in life!

      @DarrylSheather  Рік тому

I'm with you on the cost, although there's a massive amount of used campers out there for a much more reasonable price. I can see how prices go up though, I was pricing trailer independent suspension for a new trailer chassis at the show and with electric brakes/airbags and controller etc it was around $6k per axle, build a tandem chassis and thats $14k before you start.

Very good and informative, thanks Darryl.
I don't agree about the 50mm ball hitch. I switched my polyblock POS with an alko 3.5t offroad 50mm ball hitch with uni joint. Its brilliant and it means I don't have to switch the tow ball when I want to pull the trailer instead of the camper.
Slipper springs are pretty much the bottom of the barrel as you rightly point out. These are not offroad capable campers.
Looking forward to the next video on the rest of the show. Cheers!

Thanks for taking us on the journey, Fairly costly prices for some fairly generic campers, excluding the stockman, but look at that ball weight 150kg, A new Jimny maxes out at 75kg ball weight.

The 01:25 mark has a nice cub trailer. Do you have any more details on this one?

I'm a big fan of the Cub trailers and hired one before building the square drop. Thats a well made rear fold!

Great video mate. I'm in the market for a squaredrop camper but I'm yet to find one in Australia that really ticks all the boxes. I've found a lot of the North American brands are getting them right. Off Grid Trailers from Canada have made a really good product but unfortunately don't ship here. If I was handy enough with the tools I'd have bult something similar to yours.

How does an off-road, overland trailers must have 3 things, an operating gally, the hitch & suspensions,(no brainer, fully articulating hitch, and independent suspension, oh & one more factor, tires!
To show up without these things tells me to back away & have nothing to do with this mfg!
Thank you for showing us the good & the bad, now, where's the Bruder 8 trailor????🤣lol

If I were the owner of any brand of anything and my person in charge of sending any of my products to a show that weren't 100%, see you later. How can you set up a display and not check it before any potential customers see it. Smidge, really?

I just do not understand why people are so spoiled / soft today building trailers with everything you have at home so then why go out then & waste your money on two of the same things & then trailer parks are over priced with everyone right next to each other just makes no sense to me what so ever and then they are so expensive as well . Looks like I am going to have to design my own trailer for like minded people like myself whom want to be out in nature away from people living simply
