We can hardly believe this is BIG BEAR!? "Once in a Generation" conditions at Bear Mtn & Snow Summit

- The viewers of my channel have been asking for it, well here it is!! The complete edit of the best week of snowboarding in Big Bear Lake, CA during the historic snowfall of 2023. From February 22nd thru March 1st it snowed, and snowed, AND SNOWED. The mountain resorts reported 10-11 FEET of snow during this time, which still absolutely blows my mind. I've lived up in Big Bear since 2001 full time and the biggest winter season experienced is about 165 inches total from Nov-April...and this season (2022/23) so far has topped 201 inches!! Biggest storm totals too, I think the previous biggest storm week was in 2010 when it snowed between 5-6 feet in four days. These storm systems were more spread out, but still, TEN+ FEET!!!?? Come on!!! As the storms built and the snow stacked, the roads began to close and no one could leave or come up to Big Bear. Luckily, with huge efforts from our amazing City of Big Bear Lake public works team the streets were kept driveable for the most part and they plowing literally never stopped. So between hours upon hours of shoveling and snow blowing at my own home, I helped neighbors as well as provided updates via this channel, my Instagram (@danmo_flow) and even had a few (2 in one week) of my amateur broadcasts picked up by KCAL9 and CBS LA! Thank you Jasmine!! On Monday between the 2 biggest storms the back way (Hwy 18 to Lucerne Valley) was reopened to downhill traffic only so visitors and locals could leave before the next even BIGGER storm rolled in. After that, the highways were closed again but reopened later for just locals and that continued to make for epic "Locals Only" ski/board days. One in a generation conditions, indeed....
These clips are all from my GoPro Hero 8, most from my perspective/helmet mount, and one from my boarder buddy Blake's helmet. I tried to choose appropriate music for the clips and I'm pretty happy about how it turned out. Please let me know what you think in the comment section, and don't forget to LIKE and Subscribe for more content and coverage of Big Bear, this historic winter and much more to come! And feel free to let me know what you would like to see next :) Stay safe and dry everyone!

Fantastic! Beautiful! **music selection is perfect!**
Thank you, Alisha!! I’ve been playing around with different pieces of music, and this one was hard to narrow down so your kudos is much appreciated!
Awesomeness. Is that a word? 🎉
Awesomenesssolutely!!! 🤣🤘
That must have been awesome no crowd Lots of Powder.. man i miss boarding been a while. I wish I lived up there lol. If I do stay in southern CA it has to be up there. that or the PNW
Oh yes, we were practically spoiled having very little crowds. Hope you can make it up here one day, especially on a powder day it will sometimes hardly even feel like Southern California with these 3 to 4 foot storms we get, although those are few and far between.
Hoping to ski for Free on my Birthday April 19th. Will only be my second time doing so at Summit. Planning to also come for the epic conditions with that pass my dad got when Bear purchassed Snow Valley. I live in the Temecula Valley
Hey there Frank! I'm going to share some info with you I just heard yesterday...as you may know, amazing snow we received at the end of Feb into March 1st was wonderful, but since last week the storms shifted to all RAIN unfortunately :( Yesterday and today was forecasted rain as well, and so far that has been the case. IF the rain continues like it is forecasted NEXT week AND the ticket sales at Summit/Bear do NOT increase the resorts MAYBE forced to close early. You were talking about coming up for your bday on April 19...well, from my experience, the resorts like to stay open at least until EASTER...which is April 9th this year. I'm not positive this will happen, but just warning ya that if conditions don't improve and ticket sales stay low (it's been very slow in town up here due to the main road to BB being closed as well as the rainy conditions chasing people away...even though there are 2 other routes OPEN to BB...) then it is LIKELY that the resorts will close Easter weekend or just after. I don't know about Snow Valley however, they are 30 minutes away from BB and I am not as familiar with their operations....BUT...the main route that to SV is open currently but they are also experiencing the same heavy rains we are in Big Bear. Just some food for thought...you may even try calling the resorts for additional insight. Good luck!
Thanks for the show... So NICE!!!!!!
Thx Jack!! 🤘

Thanks man! Only get a ride down my street every so often and this probably was one of the best times, especially seeing the other folks out there playing around and having fun

Thanks buddy, we love to share up here and it’s sad when we can’t but we definitely tried to make the most of it 😉
Greedy people. I for one am ecstatic that all the snow is now melting and will be gone soon.
Looks like you’re getting your wish, we received rain this week and over the next two days will receive more, and with the high of 50° yesterday or winter might not last as long as someone would like 😉
What is/are your Native American tribe(s)? What is your percentage of Native American genetics?
Not sure what you are referring to, sorry
