Bella was so cute following your hand as you gestured about the English garden lawn into the orchard. Yes, very exciting times ahead

Brian It is amazing how much you have accomplished. You just won't let yourself rest until everything is done. But you keep coming up with more plans. 😅 WOW you are just like my oldest Son. 😊❤

I laughed at 12:10 when Bella was so hoping Brian’s waving hand would reach down and touch her. 😂😂😂

Go Brian! And here I'xe been wasting all this no-rain in winter weather cuddling w cats instead of organizing my harbor freight 6x8 gh so i can walk into it n use it as a gh instead of using it to store my garden supplies.

Thank you Brian. I’m so glad you were able to plant your orchard grass ! I can’t wait to see your dreams coming true in 2025 ! I also can’t believe that you’ve been living in your new house for three years, time flies, but SOMETIMES not fast enough . Good luck in all that you do and I’m anxiously awaiting Daisy’s due date ! ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃

It was nice to see someone outside in a T-shirt and to see sunshine, blue skies and to hear the birds singing. It's been overcast and gloomy here for weeks, and right now it's 32 and snowing. 😢

WOW, lots of good stuff. Can't wait to see the tomato stuff happening. My tomatoes and peppers did rather poorly but I have baby maters now, so I have hope. We've had freezing nights but it's warm again so we'll see. The cold WILL return in January. It is so fun to see your visions come to be. Your hard work is paying off.

I recommend a dwarf fig variety called, adorably, "Little Miss Figgy". It's delicious. Although when I now think about it, maybe it's not dwarf enough for your location. Mine is about 6' tall.

Hello Brian, Emily and Noah and everyone!
I would say; about time for you to plant the grass 😅 but I will say 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo Brian! It's one step closer to your completion. You have done so much and I wish I could do at least half of what you do, even a quarter.....ugh not being able to do most anything and waiting for someone else to do it for me is driving me bananas! So, so difficult and depressing. I have no refuge to go immerse myself in the garden especially now when it is cool or cold. I wish I would have listened to my dad's advice but I was stupid stubborn and I have been paying for it for a long time. God help me 🙏🏻!
I wish you all Blessings and a wonderful and Merry Christmas 🎄! May God be the center of our holiday 🙏🏻🤗❤️

Your homestead looks fantastic already! It’s hard for me to believe you have only been there 3 years. I know you have more to do to complete your vision, but do you keep a list of what you’ve already accomplished? I think my best way to keep track and realize what I’ve finished (and what I still have to do) is keep lists. Maybe that’s an ADHD thing. I like to keep track of things and plan ahead so I don’t get lost! I also need to check things off. So I know you will have a gorgeous property one day, but I have a feeling that you will never see it as finished. You’ll always be thinking of new, smaller projects to do! You are so creative and that’s what I like best about you! Keep going, and please always share it with your friends out here! Merry Christmas, Brian, Emilie, and Noah, and I wish you a safe and productive 2025!

Can you use the wood from the eucalyptus tree for burning? that would save you lots of money as you have a good supply. Nice progress and thank you for sharing. Happy Holidays!

I'm guessing you already know by now but eucalyptus will keep coming back until all the root is removed. I lived in a Grove where they were planted every eight feet and when we needed one gone it was a major operation. 😅

We have an orchard, a display garden by the entrance gate, 2 enclosed areas of multiple raised beds, an alley of Raywood trees, trees and pots around the house...etc. As a result, my guy spends an inordinate amount of time checking emiters. Most of them are on gravity feed. So, emiters get clogged often. Anyway, watching you walk around the land, I'm wondering how much time you spend just monitoring, cleaning and replacing them? It's not something people think about and, that's when things die.

Hi Brian. Love your plans for your homestead. One question …. The Cottage you built is just gorgeous but what exactly is its purpose? Is it a storage area? It can’t be just for the chickens because your chickens don’t really live in the cottage itself. So what was the original intent of the cottage? Thanks.

Please do not use hooks for your shade cloth. The weather will change and the shape of your posts and a custom shade cloth is super difficult to take down and put up after the 1st year. Been there done that trying to save you a future headache. Unless you find a way to hang it from structures that don't weather. Good luck! Rooting for you.

Can you plant where eucalyptus were growing? Doesn’t the eucalyptus have a chemical that retards growth for other plants?

    • @littlehomesteadbigdreams
      @littlehomesteadbigdreams  9 днів тому +2

That's actually a myth. The problem with growing under eucalyptus is the amount of litter they drop and the huge amount of moisture they take from the soil
