Wazap XD Sombra has a very high skill cap. Map awareness, reaction Times etc. But what is actually the most important difference between a Pro Sombra and a normal Sombra is their tracking ability. You're an assassin built around killing Off squishes as fast as possible. Unlike a lot of other assassins in the game though, the only means for you to do so is your SMG, which spreads relatively little damage over a high amount of bullets to hit. When I compare watching Pro Sombras vs pub Sombras, the biggest difference is that the Pro can keep their crosshair on a moving enemy at all times, while the other can only do so for about 60% or even less, obviously losing out on a lot of dps. Being a good Sombra is actually a lot about accuracy. Because that Hack and EMP are downright broken abilities is out if question.
Wazap XD It's hard to balance someone so game changing. She's weak from everyone lower then diamond and even a lot of diamond players are pretty terrible on her.
DerBelmont the difference between a high skill gap and just being unusable at a point is there. There's such a small amount of players that can use her effectively, compared to the general public. You must please the general public, as well as the pros. There's more casual users than there are die-hard, dedicated fans and professional players. Remember that
Kuh Nife Im actually the last person to say you shouldn't balance around public and competitive Scene. I stopped playing DotA 2 because Icefrog only catered to the competitive Scene and left a lot of really annoying Heroes running rampant in Pubs. Blizzard did actually a good Job making Heroes too good in Comp and QP at the same time almost always, so Im gonna say that Most of the time, that Wont be an issue in Overwatch. though I say that I really like heroes That arent one dimensional and require a little more effort to utilize and Play around their weaknesses rather than just simple DPSing like lets say a soldier. I could play a Soldier and win a lot of matche s, but that would get really really boring after 1 or 2 matches. Thats also why I enjoy Junkrat as he doesnt have an easy to use hitscan weapon and more indirect weapon fire but if utilized correctly can deny entire points almost all by himself. That being said EMP is a really really strong skill in a coordinated environment so you have to see whether the recent changes in the PTR will actually make a significant Impact on her Performance. She already fills her EMP faster than most other ults so Id say her DPS is just fine. Her stealth is clunky, but considering she has a map wide escape ability that can get you out of any messed up stealth attempt, Id say thats really fine as well. Having 20% faster hacking times means, people being less able to react to your hacking attempts and in turn faster killing times. In 0.2 Seconds, Sombra can put out 4 additional bullets à 8 damage, corresponding to 36/72 damage in total if all are headshots, so the minimum killing time for a 200 HP Hero at close Range went from 1.6125 Seconds(if all bullets are headshots) to 1.4125 Seconds(if all bullets are headshots), an increment of roughly 13%(feel free to correct me in any Numbers). So I really like how they amped up her killing times in squishy Heroes, while keeping her DPS practically the same, so she doesnt necessarily have to get that OP ult faster. I like the Route they are going with her.
She is getting two buffs next patch. Faster RMB hacking and faster hacking cooldown. Even with those two, I personally feel that a decent Tracer/Genji outperforms her though.
Simon Béland can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious lol but I'm referring to before the game started when he's mashing random buttons like it's his day job haha. Always found it weird when players did that before games started.
Symbiotic Void Munkey sombra main here, personally think shes in a nice spot rn though an indirect damage buff by narrowing the spray of her shots would be nice so she gets a little more range/accuracy...doubt itll happen but i think shes fine either way
Symbiotic Void Munkey also the addition of ability heavy characters imo adds weight to sombras usefullness like doomfist coming in, if hes charging into your team and gets hacked hes a sitting duck
Guy is master, can't even 1vs1 against ana or the backliners. can only get reliable kills around 40~50% damage on the enemy (rest done by teamates). Only value to the team is organized use of EMP to disrupt enemies and win ult fights. A genji or a tracer would outperform a Sombra in teamfights. Only advantage of using sombra is really that she can charge her ult fast and if she emps everyone they can get the upper hand for 6 seconds. Weakness of this idea is actually being out gunned, kind of a cheese strategy. Seriously, if the team is good he could be playing symmetra or tobjorn and he would still be winning, because the team is carrying the weight of sombra low damage output. In the end he is silver eliminations but not even bronze at damage done, meaning he is probably out damaged by most party members in his team. Sombra still needs a buff, either to her gun or some other places. currently having her in your team is not good and only 1 pro team ever used her, and it was a very cheesy similar strategy. Hope blizzard buff her, but hope it's not as straight damage improvement, but rather something else.
Her damage is great, but what screws it up is her spread. I can still see her being effective and have been effective myself and carried equal share. I like to use her when grouped up in teams-- when it a Reinhardt stand off, I flank and hack the Reinhardt and his shield goes down so my team can smash into them. Doesnt always mean victory, also loved using her to break Bastion nest and Reinhardt Bastion combo
Bernard Strauss I have about 15 hrs played with her and I generally do well, but I do feel like her primary fire is a bit weak compared to similar heroes. When the game has characters like Genji, Reaper, or Mei who has self healing, aoe attacks, and a ranged secondary attack that does fat damage a character like sombra does seem weak and fragile. for an offensive character she definitely relies on her team too much.
GT-R0B Yes her machine pistol is weak, but she is a disrupter more than an assassin, if her damage were to be buffed she would be OP with her "in and out" skills, She is designed to be reliant on her team mates to be effective (as the video just showed). Most people that wants her buffed just want to be a uber lone wolf assassin with some "unfuck" button for an easy escape.
She's good if you have obscene aim. I think she's still useful with average players because she's great at forcing teams to turn around and stop facing your team pushing from the front. That's a lot more disruptive than people think.
Mr.Seaturtles sombra is the worst DPS in the game. He snuck up on Ana dozens of times in the game but rarely got a kill. Her dmg is so pathetic that he had to headshot a lucio tons of times to get a kill. Sombra is borderline a support character, because she's not getting kills anytime soon and for a DPS character, that's absolutely unacceptable.
Segrade 22 in that case they need to buff one or the other. either let her hack through walls or increase the radius like they did mei's ult. Both may be a bit much. (Kinda like how lucios nerf was a bit much... nerf either speed boost OR healing not both.)
Sombra is like an attack version of Winston. Just used for moving/ distracting people off of the objective not for killing. When used right can be more frustrating than tracer
These Sombra plays. I don't believe in the term pro in a game even with a leader board but damn this person as Sombra is good. Must have played alot of hours on her
Which, just for reference for other people reading this, gets disabled by the EMP. Look it up on the wiki. I don't know what happened. That looks really funny :D
This is amazing Sombra gameplay. Where you're attacking from is not the best place on the first objective (you should be attacking from the health packs behind enemy lines), but, your callouts are amazing.
Amazing Sombra play. I hated the whole camp by health packs but this style was more in line with mine but obviously way more effective. It also showed the limitations of her. Her damage is pretty good what does her in is the spread, on smaller people it just misses *especially when you strafe*. Also at points when he disabled them but his team was too slow to react, his hacks or disruption didnt always bare fruit
Amazing gameplay. Song choice is the background is ok I guess. Outro song is much better. I mean it fits the sombra theme to have electro or techno tracks
Oh man, I bought this game couple of days ago and I'm sucking playing it big time :D Still like it though. Hope I get better in time. You're gameplay is very inspirational and I learned a few things. Hope you don't mind :)
I'm new to overwatch and only played a couple matches. I use sombra a lot and Just wanted to ask is it worth the time to hack an actual enemy? It's my understanding that it doesn't do much.
It's really good for enemies that heavily rely on their skills, rather than their gun/weapon. For example, good targets are: Roadhog, Genji, Tracer, Mei, Reinhardt, Lúcio, Mercy While generally bad targets are: McCree, Reaper, 76, Zenyatta (since they can just out DPS you with their weapon anyways)
Bullshit, why do I always get opponents about 10 times better than this guy here? My god, they just stand there allowing Sombra to kill them! They don't turn around when he decloaks and don't beat the shit out of him 5 on 1 ignoring everything else. If I decloaked 100 meters behind enemies, at least 1 would headshot me instantly. Bullfuckingshit, easy mode vs passive bots here
I think Sombra is perfectly viable. she does decent damage from afar if you know how to track and her ability to quickly take out healers while also removing the enemy teams other source of heals (health packs) can be devastating when used in coordination with your team. not to mention that she has a level of mobility in a vertical sense that tracer just cant match. the point of sombra isnt to sneak in and do tons of damage, its to sneak in, lower the teams healing rate and disable abilities that could cost your team kills. (roadhogs hook, reins shield, zarya's shields, Dva's defense matrix, the list goes vastly beyond that. She's not another tracer and is just as viable in the right situations. Have you ever hacked all of the healthpacks on the 2nd point of volskaya? it effectively cripples the enemy team if you focus the healers and hack the tanks.
lol, I think i see where you are going.. but naw, im fairly sure its the intro to a rock song i heard years ago. The band is Skillet or a band fairly similar to them.
Pointless question. Sensitivity will be different depending on mouse dpi, screen resolution and frame rate so there's no point trying to copy someones settings unless you have the same setup.
Gaming With Antishadow8 and Friends. the music in the background was much better than 87.654% of videos. I would know. I've watched every overwatch video ever recorded and 92.69345% of those that weren't recorded.
Everyone is saying Sombra needs a buff but don't realize what that actually do. The invisible hero that can cut off Ults, timer ability and cut of health packs to charge ult super fast doesn't need to buff her damage. People say she's bad because her damage is to spread. The second her damage gets buffed is when everyone will freak out she'll get behind everyone always take out your healers, fuck with the rein till he turns around and then get blasted by a 76 rocket or something. Right now her main goal is distraction/try and kill the healer and charge ult to win team pushes. If her damage was amplified then she would be far to strong. able to easily line up head shots and unload a clip then just teleport out when the rest of the team turns around and then EMP push would just crush everything. Always reminds me of how much of a spaz I would have to be to get gud at a game like this. Seems like this guy can never spend even a moment not pressing a button whether it be jumping or dry humping his hack ability.
Tracer, Reaper, Sombra, these flanking heroes all have one thing in common, they are very effective at close range and at any other range they lack effective accuracy. The non flanking heroes; Soldier76, McCree, Pharah all have one thing in common, they are long range heroes with accurate weapons, but they don't flank easily. Giving a flanking hero the range and accuracy capabilities of a Soldier, McCree or Pharah would create unbalance, to put it into perspective, Barrage and Tactical Visor are devastating from a flanking position, but it is balanced because flanking with a Soldier and Pharah is not always easy compared to a Tracer or Sombra that can zip across the map. If you flank there needs to be risks, and that risk is getting close to the enemy, the closer you are the easier it is to die.
he really quickly looked, but if its close but not there yet, say 95%, he wouldnt know. He needed the rein to tell him, but yeah maybe its a communication thing. dunno?
Great play and team coordination, but nevertheless i still consider Sombra utterly useless outside of throwing her Q while sitting in a 6-man premade team
sombra was played very well here but overall someone with the same amount of skill playing a tracer or genji would be way more useful, she just doesn't do enough dps
He's a beast. It also helps that his team isnt 3 genjis and a fucking magikarp.
They actually are, Roadhog was the only one playing the game, his team only followed after his EMP lmao.
Pharah is the magikarp amirite?
Damn this makes me want to play Sombra.
The slip knot in the background dude 👌
and In Flames :D
and Mastodon :^)
metalheads I love it
The Nightwish at the end made my day
Please be realistic, Sombra NEEDS a buff! Are you going to tell me 90% of players are this good? Cause the answer is obvious, give me a break.

Sombra needs a buff..
Danny Fernandez totally
Danny Fernandez a buff means better? Or does it mean worse cuz I know nerf means worse
Danny Fernandez no
If you now how to play her you don't need a buff
sword om if she gets more buff, players Would probably get annoyed and say "What the actual f#+k is this? She's op."
Guy had a stroke at the beginning of the video.. only way I can explain those crazy movements
Actually, it's a trick to prevent your enemy to track your movement. Spamming randomly a-d-a-d to move and avoid getting it. Pros do it all the times
I think he was talking about sombra's hand going up and down lol
Simon Béland can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious lol but I'm referring to before the game started when he's mashing random buttons like it's his day job haha. Always found it weird when players did that before games started.
I thought you were talking about when they start shooting ^^
Joseph they just do it or randomness or boredness it's just something you can't do while actually playing
New video of this player dominating on Oasis: ua-cam.com/video/Wi9Fxqv84Wo/v-deo.html

Someone's a little salty that Sombra isn't as weak as they thought :P
Dilson Camacho your probably the worst player in the world and is salty he's better than you
Dilson Camacho A good Ana can 1v1 lots of heroes
Her damage is great, but what screws it up is her spread. I can still see her being effective and have been effective myself and carried equal share. I like to use her when grouped up in teams-- when it a Reinhardt stand off, I flank and hack the Reinhardt and his shield goes down so my team can smash into them. he did his job noob, its a team game not go on your own and rambo it scrub
hot damn, I'm not sure sombra needs a buff anymore.
She doesn't, its just shitters crying because they cant use her well.
That's usually the case with every character.
Bernard Strauss I have about 15 hrs played with her and I generally do well, but I do feel like her primary fire is a bit weak compared to similar heroes. "sombra is the worst character in the game"
Nonsense
Pitbull00000 yeah I know it makes less then zeros sense

+AsterDXZ you have to sneak up close , hack and shoot them. Her dmg of her whole clip is the same as Tracer when you are close
+AsterDXZ and if they buff her damage she would bevond too op, with her invicibility and hacks
This is why I love Sombra. Can anyone recommend more Sombra gameplay?
Antonio Codey is the best sombra player he has some good gameplay on his channel
what the hell is up with the emp/hacking? sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Even with emp i saw a zarya and a mei ult.
cLoud unDerWeather it doesn't go through wall and range is pretty small
Segrade 22 in that case they need to buff one or the other. either let her hack through walls or increase the radius like they did mei's ult. Both may be a bit much. (Kinda like how lucios nerf was a bit much... nerf either speed boost OR healing not both.)
cLoud unDerWeather EMP is line of sight.
I'm glad I saw this. I'm a new player and this kind of strat was in my head from the get go. Glad to see he validated it well.
Sombra is like an attack version of Winston. Just used for moving/ distracting people off of the objective not for killing. When used right can be more frustrating than tracer
Crayvd no, that's tracer.
r u drunk
I love how he had Slipknot in the backround :D
i loved how he had mastodon more
That chorus to oblivion. oooo yea
this player so good, i bet he could even rig elections!
I randomly got queued with navi 3 times in a row last season, they were probably my best matches so far
Love the music choice
I heard Soilwork playing in the back and that's all i need to thumbs up
These Sombra plays. I don't believe in the term pro in a game even with a leader board but damn this person as Sombra is good. Must have played alot of hours on her
ehuntere22 You don't believe in the term pro for video games? good thing its not a religion then cause no one gives a fuck what you believe in.
GethReddin its not how long they play her... its skill
at 11:24 how did that zarya not get emp'd? im confused
i think at the same exact time she used her barrier
Which, just for reference for other people reading this, gets disabled by the EMP. Look it up on the wiki. I don't know what happened. That looks really funny :D
Hi, new to overwatch here:
U just made me to learn my 2nd offense hero to learn :D Such a good gameplay :D
This guy is the BEST Sombra player I've ever seen!!!
Your sombra is godlike dood 😱
This is amazing Sombra gameplay. Where you're attacking from is not the best place on the first objective (you should be attacking from the health packs behind enemy lines), but, your callouts are amazing.

Most of the statements in this comment are false.
*****
which bits?
Such as her damage. Her damage is complete shit. It took him 2/4 of his clip to fully head shot kill an Ana.
Navi is back.
It's funny that the only thing that seperates the ranks is how well each player synergises with the various hero's on their team
wow this was amazing! really makes me want to play and get better with sombra!! c:
Amazing gameplay. Song choice is the background is ok I guess. Outro song is much better. I mean it fits the sombra theme to have electro or techno tracks
what song's playing around 6:00?
Oh man, I bought this game couple of days ago and I'm sucking playing it big time :D
Still like it though. Hope I get better in time.
You're gameplay is very inspirational and I learned a few things. Hope you don't mind :)
I love your focus music in background, slipknot is de best
unbelievable player. Great watch.
Tracer is Sombra's check lowkey
3:38
-"Jeez, are we there yet?"

Bullfuckingshit, easy mode vs passive bots here
Mallory SF It's obviously not bots or it wouldn't display the player's battletags
Xavier Morrissey
The weakest non-bots I've seen playing Overwatch
Mallory SF bohoo, stop crying and gitgud
Why are there blue checkmarks above the enemy that have their ults ready? I've never seen that feature in game
if you hack someone, and their ulti is up, you get to see that they have it for about 20 seconds
Sym and torb turrets can't see you while invi right?
off topic what was the song playing int he background
What Navi has a youtube channel? I played so many games with and against him.
I dont care what people say, sombra can be good in competitive!
Dude I forgot how to do this but how did u make that intro bit by that I mean the photo shop thing not the transition for it
I fucking love the slip knot in the background
With some tasty In Flames in background :DDDD GGWP
Background music
= Slipknot-Devil in I ?
What was the song about to start at 15:36? feels so familiar!
It sounds like Saw's theme.
lol, I think i see where you are going.. but naw, im fairly sure its the intro to a rock song i heard years ago. The band is Skillet or a band fairly similar to them.
overscoreSX Maybe it's a remix of saw's theme? xD
"I never get play of the game with Sombra" I Casually get it once a month
anyone know what's his mouse sensitivity at??
Pointless question. Sensitivity will be different depending on mouse dpi, screen resolution and frame rate so there's no point trying to copy someones settings unless you have the same setup.
no need to be a dick about it
mixtwomimo Not being a dick, just letting you know it's not as straight forward as that.
mixtwomimo he is answering your question and not being a dick. prosettings.com
Mojo Jojo pointless question
At 13:11 , how can 76 sprint if he's been hacked?
It seems alot of people don't understand that Sombra is a disruptor, not a character like genji who can just kill everyone.
I'm shocked this video is still up with that music in the background.
Gaming With Antishadow8 and Friends. the music in the background was much better than 87.654% of videos. I would know. I've watched every overwatch video ever recorded and 92.69345% of those that weren't recorded.
That wasn't the point.
Alexander Canella god you are such a troll
No, I have music on some of my videos and they got flagged.
holy crap SOMBRA GOALS please give me your skillz
wait do you have a friend named pierson? Or did I hear that wrong at 8:57?
if you're referring to the other guy that talks, he's saying "tracer's on point"
What did that Lúcio felt?
Navi : I never get POTG .
Me : I got play of the game on my first hour
12:54 * Insert picture of assault chopper *
does he play on console or gaming laptop?
Name is Navi (a csgo pro team) has dignitas emblem in lower left (another csgo team). i find it ironic
Butter Knuckles navi isn't just csgo, it's a whole brand team
He streams for Team Dignitas. He got his name "Navi" from Zelda
Why was his game in Korean?
I believe it's in Japanese. He speaks it
Um... it was in English? The only thing in Korean was one of the player's names on the other team.
Haylla2008 its probably like a international server
Haylla2008 and he probably has the secondary language of japanese
Legendary Person I think it's a bug. has happened to me too
Things I dream of having on console...

I see the difference in movement between pc and console now ☺
yea PC is better for fps cuz you can move quickly
they were playing slipknot in the backround haha
This video has 200k visits, but Navi still has ~200 Twitch-viewers Kappa
Hopefully he gets a lot more! :D He's an incredible player
Always reminds me of how much of a spaz I would have to be to get gud at a game like this. Seems like this guy can never spend even a moment not pressing a button whether it be jumping or dry humping his hack ability.
Never saw a video with Slipknot background music
i like!
You are so good at sombra
THAT WAS AWESOME
boi u got some fine music there
if the range and accuracy of her submachine gun was improved a bit she could actually be viable.
If you flank there needs to be risks, and that risk is getting close to the enemy, the closer you are the easier it is to die.
last baron mastodon. good music
siccore oblivion 👍👍
I like his choice of Song, I heard some Slipknot
He plays sombra pretty well :O
practicing whenever i can to slowly become more valuable as sombra uwu. Hopefully ill be a fraction as good as this one day!
ahhh so this is how you Sombra....
Sweet jesus, that is impressive. I love playing Sombra but I am no where near that good with her
i'm sorry, but stealthing in a choke and the enemy ignoring the unstealthing audio que does not define ''amazing''
Apparently people still dont get Sombra is just supposed to be annoying.
9:32 yknow, you could always just press tab
jibeduya67 probably an international server
he really quickly looked, but if its close but not there yet, say 95%, he wouldnt know. He needed the rein to tell him, but yeah maybe its a communication thing. dunno?
She's like a support hero that's why I like her
When you Russian native speaker and heard that Zarya pronunciation 😂😂
Great play and team coordination, but nevertheless i still consider Sombra utterly useless outside of throwing her Q while sitting in a 6-man premade team
sombra was played very well here but overall someone with the same amount of skill playing a tracer or genji would be way more useful, she just doesn't do enough dps
Damn he is good with sombra
You can have a username with Korean letters?
Avery Arizola if youre using a Korean comp
DAMN Sombra is awesome, and I'm a tf2 player.
i think is pretty clear that sombra is ok as it is, that buff should not go live!
iRapplexD i disagree. I say bring it.
Francisco Pelayo i do respect your opinion, but do hope you think about the impact especially toward current main tanks.
iRapplexD most teams are playing 3 or more tanks now anyways.
what buff?
I think her abilities are there, by she is weak for a offense squishy
very good sombra player, feel like he coulda hacked more tho.
Nice game Sombra )
Good music 🎶 😂
You have the most amazing name
