  • What started out as some test footage for the Meike 35mm f0.95 lens to showcase some of it's characteristics, As Darkness Falls turned into a creepy short film featuring my lovely friend and model, Misschelle.
We had stumbled across this amazing location and just had to make the most of it by adding some narrative to the test footage we were shooting using the Fujifilm X-H2s and the Meike 35mm f0.95. All the footage was handheld which just a basic camera cage rig with a top handle but no follow focus or external monitor.
This was completely unplanned and as someone who is primarily a stills photographer who dabbles in video and has only just started creating more narrative short films, I'm very happy with how this turned out. In particular, I'm super impressed by the Meike 35mm f0.95 lens and how it renders video footage with the Fujifilm X-H2s.
An in-depth review of this lens is coming soon.

Not sure if intended but it gave me the vibe of a modern day "Picnic at Hanging Rock". Well done.

The directing was not good enough, I guess , and her acting seems kind of robotic. How the heck does she know where to run? It feels like someone has told her to wake up and exactly run in that direction. and the waking-up scene feels like she was just pretending she was not unconscious. It feels like it forcefully wants to give off a creepy vibe but can't really do that.
BTW, what was the motive behind the story?
