The size comparison between Guardian and Tahu would be a little better when you take into account that Tahu was in his adapted armor during Teridax’s reign.
Nice review I really love how much passion you put into every single video that you put out especially the latest Ninjago videos I’ve just watched all of them today so keep up the good work
The dark hunter guardian is currently revived in the red star and in the toa empire universe he’s a part of a resistance lead by po- toa mata And he helped nuju against a toa of plantlife but he sacrificed himself to save the team and he didn’t wear a kaukau that’s his head or helmet
I think it would've been more fair to compare him to Tahu Mistika than Tahu Nuva. I always liked this guy's colors, very American. I also always liked heads with visors.
Definitely one of the more "messier" hunters. Built him and did a heavy revamp to fix his technical problems, and now he is one of my favourite hunters
@@DuckBricks No, as the fixes are hard to notice through pictures, which was kinda the point. I like to fix my hunters, while keeping them as close appearance wise as possible to the original. What I did though, was adding support to the feet for increased stability, fix his shoulders and neck to be better connected to the body, and lastly I pretty much entirely re-modeled his torso to make it more compact
To be honest color scheme reminds me of Kardas. it's amazing how well dark blue, red and sliver goes together. Also the silhouette overall is very similar to that of Makuta Teridax. weird, bend legs with Pohatu nuva's claws on the back, Avohki as hands and the shape of the head kinda reminds me of Kraahkan. Still, pretty good looking model! As for stability, I'm sure it somewhat worked for original builder since friction on the pins was back then a roulette. You sometimes got blue pins that had less friction than frictionless pins, sometimes you got so much friction, you barely could twist the pin. Feet and lower legs looks amazing, but don't work reliably most of the time. Also, as for weapon, I've got a feeling that builder just decided to give Guardian Rothuka spinner because, well... Would you give it anything bigger? With that stability?
I just got a Nidhiki, and his pins really prove that roulette lol. The ones that connect the legs to the body range from 'the leg will not move side to side until you move it' to 'give the model a bit of a jolt and that leg is going most of the way around its range of motion'
Probably the best looking fanon dark hunter in my opinion. I for one kinda like the more abstract faces of some of these models; in this case I feel like it gives the character a more mysterious vibe, as if you couldn't really tell what was going on in his impenetrable mind. The weapon, instead of being just a staff, could also be interpreted in my opinion as a kind of "atlatl" for the rhotuka to get more leverage during the throw, that could be interesting. When it comes to the stability of the model, I'm having a hard time figuring in my head how it would be in person, as I have found from experience that a lot of the builds that seem to crumble instantly in your videos aren't nearly as bad when I try to build them, which is weird.
Yeah, I think this one in particular is extremely variable based on how much friction the blue pins have. If you get lucky, it could be super stable if those feet just didn’t wobble around.
That has to be one of the weirdest ways to connect the feet. This has hordika necks, they totally could have used those. I gotta say though, that red kaukau looks amazing on this moc
You built feet the wrong way, the perpendicular axle-pin connector shall be connected to the socket through the pin hole and the silver Bohrok eyes through the axle hole and you did the the opposite way, that's why you're unable to pose it. Change it and you'll get amazed by the stability of the legs. On the other hand, how could you evaluate esthetics if you do not build it with the pieces on the original colors that it was depicted in? It does chance a lot if you happen to build it the right way in the right colors. Just an straight opinion, I've suffered a lot trying to figure some building Technics and pieces colors to match the exact ones of the entry winners 😣
Are you going to do the savage or the dragons next dark hunters because I know they’re the only characters we’re Greg actually used the pieces tell inspired the characters backstory
@@DuckBricks yeah I think no one can argue when I came to the two main contests Greg had more freedom with the rahi One than the dark hunters because let’s face it most characters back stories are not tied to any character we met before or are transform toa I think those are the only two who’s pieces actually gave Greg I think that’s tied to something that already existed
What I’m getting from this is the feet are the biggest culprits here in terms of stability. Such a shame guardian’s so flimsy, always one of my favorite dark hunter designs.

This dude was always one of my favorites. I thought his lack of melee weapon made him intimidating, as he didn’t need one.
I can see that! He’s very visually striking, that’s for sure

Thank you! Appreciate it

I've been looking foward to this one. Let's see if he's as good as I thought!
Aesthetically, he’s pretty great! Stability wise... Not so much
Definitely one of the more "messier" hunters. Built him and did a heavy revamp to fix his technical problems, and now he is one of my favourite hunters
That’s actually pretty cool, have you posted it anywhere?

Awesome review! DH Prototype next, please
I’m still waiting on a few orders to finish that one up but once I do I’ll get the review out ASAP!
I don't think I noticed the dark blue too well before, its color scheme is really nice with that.
I agree, it’s a pretty neat color scheme!
A great fanon review again. This channel deserves at least a million subscribers.
Thank you, appreciate it!

Yeah, it’s definitely a matter of some pins being stronger than others, but it’s still pretty rough having the entire body hinge on that
thank you, Duckbricks. Very cool!
Thank you, Matthew. Very cool!

Yeah, it’s such a bizarre way to connect them - it does look cool though!
I never understood why some
mocs/official sets used the Avohkii as hands
The spikes on the avohki kind of looks like fingers or claws
it was the closest thing to proper hands we've had back then.

I like to think that those bohrok eyes on the feet are some sort of foot spikes, with wich he can kick and stab someone at the same time
I can see it, makes sense

I’m working on those right now and hopefully I’ll have them out soon!

Noice and i wish you have discord so i can show you my dark hunters and rahi
Another model to add to the list of canonized fan mocs that can’t stand.
Oh boy, can’t wait for my roundup of every dark hunter where 90% of them are on that list
That looks like teridax
