That is the best way, one can turn the engine over slow and get the oil pressure up, check for spark in this case find out about the clutch and listen for ugly noises from the engine plus get the valves to get a chance to move and settle in the seats some so when the gas is introduced it will run or not. lol
We had a '36 JD-AR with the same spoke wheels. It was our 'workhorse' for the farm. I have not seen the same tractor on any of YT videos.
There weren't very many AR's I only know of one that's fully restored in our area
