I live near featherdale. Now’s a good time to see it, it’s under fierce competition with a new local zoo. Featherdale is more for Australian animals though.
You must have got there early- by mid afternoon the animals are all “oh bugger another tourist GTFO of my face with those damn pellets” :)
And trust me, the Roos were slow because they wanted to be!

What a great video! I will be visiting Sydney in two weeks and I am so excited! I was wondering if you did the Koala Kindy Encounter or the personal encounter? I’m assuming it was the Kindy. Also about how long was your encounter?

I'm so sorry we are just seeing your comment! We did the Koala Kindly Encounter and I believe it was about 15 to 30 minutes. I hope you had an awesome trip! 😊

This video just convinced me to visit Featherdale on our upcoming visit to Sydney. How much time should we consider with train ride both ways?

Oh my gosh that makes me so happy to hear! We loved the Koala Encounter. I'd recommend 1- 2 hours at Featherdale so you have time to enjoy looking at all the animals and feeding the kangaroos. We went in the morning on a weekday, and it was so peaceful! Not sure how long the train ride is from where you'd be coming from exactly, but just add that onto the 1 to 2 hours. Hope that helps!

Can you touch or hold a koala here? Thanks for your assistance.

You can touch koalas (in the Koala Kindly Experience) but you can’t hold them! We were told it’s illegal now to hold koalas in NSW!

@@thewildlylife Thanks for your assistance. Looks like y'all had a lot of fun. It makes me want to do this, but I will have to take a bus and train from Bondi Beach. It might be about 2 hours to get there and 2 hours back. It might be worth it though. Thanks for the info.

    It’s, eem-you, not eem-oo.

We don't always pronounce words correctly but we try our best!

fun fact, Emu ( pronounced eem-you ) and the Kangaroo are on our coat of arms, as both animals cant walk backwards, the sentiment is to reflect Australia as always moving forwards.

That's super cool, thank you so much for sharing! And we've had a few other tell us we said Emu wrong, oops, now we know. :)

The backwards thing is an urban legend.
