They cheaped out. No mechanics in the mouth, no LED display in the eyes. It's great they added an off button. It seems more directly interactive. All the previous editions, you'd talk to it, and it would still do whatever it was going to do. The Fijit Friends were the best at being directly interactive. You talked to it, it answered and did what you said.
This time Furby comes with no app and no Bluetooth (like the past 2012 and Connect). I think it's good because it's a Furby. From what I've seen in other reviews the real con is that the conversation with other furbies is very short. Connect was really active and impressive with other furbies and so the 2012/Booms models. Yep, furby can speak other languages (french, german, italian for example, it will be released in Europe on August 1st). I'll get my purple 2023 this Wednesday ❤😊

I have an original Furby from 1998, It's one with Griaffe like Fur, and it still turns on and functions despite it being 25 years old. Of course it has it's pros and cons as well. However, some of the cons with mine may be because of the Furby aging. However it is in very shape and works flawlessly, I would say about 98% of the time.
No, you do not want it to stay quiet until prompted. That was the 2005 version. The limited commands combined with the realistic eyes made it seem like it was sad all the time.
I am genuinely curious about how these things are programmed and created, because if there is no ai then how do they develop unique personalities and learn over time🤔
Playing with it more, I believe they’re programmed to reveal new things over time rather than authentic learning like you’d get from say Emo the robot or Loona the robot. Mine would reveal a few new things over time but after a couple weeks of playing with it, nothing new came up. It’s still interactive but the “learning” part is definitely not comparable to AI.
I wished this fur by would connect to the internet and be able to be updated :( the pros of that would be letting you customize it using an app of what it says and does that would be cool.

I Because purple is a colour associated with royalty, my Furby's name will be King. Furby 1998 the original was voiced by Tony Pope. Furby baby 1999 was voiced by Mary Kay Bergman. Patricia Thomson was the voice for Furby 2005, Gavin Hamon for 2012 and up, but I'm not sure if he was the voice for the furblings. He did the male Furby party rockers, but I don't know who did the two female ones. I think he did the male "personalities" in Furby Boom, but if he also did the girl "personalities" there, all I can say is his voice is unbelievably versatile.

It’s good that way as servers do end and when they do it reduced the play value of it as with the connect, most of it’s interactions were though the app. This way, play value will depend mainly on the amount of care one takes (where you store it etc…)

Many furbies were programmed to unlock new words as it’s played with so I’m guessing it’s not so much learning as much as it is “The furby could say those words but won’t until it is played with enough.”
I actually don't mind the beak doesn't move. I know that would be a lot of mechanical work and, personally, i forget it doesn't move with how it moves around in general. I personally don't have the cash (for now) to get one, but was able to get a Furblet and it's just as cute with less mobility. It's kind of wild to see them return and be cutier than before.

the problem with charged options is the battery still dies in the long run you just have to go inside it and desolder and replace it if you want it to keep working after that point. ill take removable batteries any day. theyre still rechargable theyre just also easily removable and you wont have to worry about blowing up your apartment working with a lithium ion battery.

Currently I would say Either Loona or Rux. Loona sometimes doesn’t listen though and I feel like Rux will over-explain since he’s directly connected to ChatGPT when he converses. I wish I could say Emo, but Emo always has issues with communication and still drops out of ChatGPT after each question if you don’t respond quickly enough. I’m still waiting to test out a robot that absolutely blows me away in conversation. Hopefully I’ll find one soon as I have a few on their way to me now for future vids! (Also thanks for watching!!)
My guy! If you had placed your thumb on top of the sensor between the eyes for 20 seconds on the 90s furby, it would go to sleep, ie turn it off without ripping out the batteries.

Phrases like „heck no!“ would be kind of boring in German i think? I think it would be so cool if they would make it an option wich language it speaks? If you could choose it on your furby. Also the 2012 has the interactive eyes which is also a very cool feature lacking with this one.
These things should now have AI, be able to say your name and do more, especially for the money.

Sounds as if it not as technologically advanceed to the one in the early 2000's, where for example you could converse with it.

In 2015 or something version was connecting with phones 🤔 and they were able to kind of connect to each other! It’s weird they removed that 😬

That trick works but not for all! Best was to put Furby in a closet for 4-5 minutes. 😅

I would really recommend the new one. Even though the 2012 ones are overall better, many of the apps needed for the full experience no longer exist.

Look up how to factory reset a furby it should help you I did that with my 2012 one i got from a tag sale and a hatchimal!
