I think its customized cassette, remove one of the cogs for a smooth spot for the chain to glide across... I forget exactly how it works but I have seen photos of something like that before

All he had to do was take the bike to get air and be on his way. My friend did not have any major problems putting this bike together; small issue was putting one of the brakes on straight; however when the son got home he was able to fix it. The bike rides well gears move correctly; good bike for the price. Wrote review after the son took the bike. Sorry.
Good company , awesome riders , but ehhhhh customer service is from scale 10 to 0 , i send email , asked question about bike/frame as customer /ZERO responce , like im talking to wall with my self... send on facebook ,basicly almost everywhere and still ZERO RESONSE , looks like they take a pisss on customers ...its like for like i want to see :(
