You might be right about it being both a Prequel/Sequel, and in a way it would have to be. If the DLC is set before the events of the base game Xenoblade 3, then just like with 3 anything that happens in the DLC story will end up being undone (any deaths or anything) when the world unmerge at the end of 3 and everyone who may have died/got injured or anything else will just be back to how they were pre-merge. If it was a prequel only, that would still leave people asking questions of what happens to everyone after the worlds unmerge or if they ever merge again correctly. So even if most the DLC is prequel, there'd still have to be a sequel ending or chapter of something to show events that happened after XC3 ending.
Quick reminder that shania isnt a decsendant of shulk. It says in the w game that the statue of house reid isnt of the founder itself but the founders mentor. So, shulk is shanias ancestors mentor. But i deffinetly agree with all the alvis stuff, i especially liked the theory of alvis just obeying shulk orders from xc1 endig

I feel like no matter what, even if this is PURELY a prequel DLC, there has to be more of this story set in the future. Even if we learn absolutely nothing about what happens after the worlds are reset, we know that eventually they WILL meet each other again, Nia says so, that's just how it works. Eventually they will meet and there will have to be a way for them to merge properly. There's also the VERY open question of what happened to all the people who were born in the city, outside the cycle of death and rebirth, because their data was never stored in origin and they wouldn't be reset with everyone else. Are the main cast just going to be satisfied with that? They could theoretically see each other again, but ghondor, gray, Monica, all of them, maybe even the founder that lived past his homecoming date, they're gone forever. I can't believe they'd just leave the series like that. There just has to be some continuation of the fate of the 2 worlds
I predict the title screen will be the 3 swords have us select 3 different eras in order. if its as long as torna they would be 10 hours each considering they said it would be roughly the same length as torna. This is what I would like, however I admit that it seems logistically impossible. how would gameplay carry over? how could they pace each story with such a short amount of game time? I suppose they did that with Future Connected, but again, how would they string 3 Future connected length stories in a cohesive gameplay sense when said events within those times are Supper radically different? Some sort of Lineage inheritance to reflect the passing of the torch the main game expresses? it would be really fucking cool if I were right,but i find it doubtful.

Doesn't matter who dies or what happens in the DLC story or Xenoblade 3 base game. It will all get reverted back to how it was before the worlds merged, just look at Xenoblade 3 ending. If the founders DLC story is set before XC3 and some party members from 1 and 2 die, after XC3 base game happens and the worlds drift apart again, everyone is alive again anyway.

Like you said, the base game isnt "the epic conclusion to the klaus saga", this dlc story is Just some points, i'm still 100% certain its gonna be a prequel and not an epilogue. We've got 3 of the founders on screen (before their known injuries), you've got the wide shot thats clearly inside aionios, and that founders room just screamed "dlc story here!". So far theres nothing at all to suggest theres anything after the main game and infact there really cant be, remember the worlds didnt merge at the end of xb3 but instead separated again, so shulk and rex or anything from the 2 worlds cant be in the same place as each other or they'll explode like antimatter (thats the annihilation effect). You pointed out theres what seems like old colony 9 sure, but colony 9 was at sea level in xb1, this is clearly high up in the sky so its an aionios mashed up copy of the colony Now you mentioned a reference to "stories" as in plural. Well do remember ingame there was brief flashes of numerous incarnations of noah and mio that we dont really know anything about. So while its possible we could hop around in the timeline, i still dont believe we'll see anything after the ending. Also try to think of this from the point of view of a story teller leaving himself open for future new stories. Wouldnt it be more interesting to have 2 different worlds to play with rather than just 1? Instead of having the heart breaking ending of xb3 then immediately undoing it by giving a happy ending, wouldnt it make more marketing sense to keep the players guessing and looking out for clues in future titles? And this isnt even starting on the point that they have xenoblade X to finish up One thing about the new protagonist, he appears to be completely modeled on fei, the protagonist of xenogears which is very interesting. But also since you mentioned the red sword, did you by chance notice that the gauntlet the new guy is wearing is actually the same one noah ends up using in the future? Which brings up alot of questions cus riku was the one who created the outer red casing for the lucky seven, so is riku really old enough to know this much (let alone seemingly knowing melia personally)? Ohh and you wondered about why alvis would have zanza's wings, well the thing about that is it isnt just a zanza thing. All the artifices in xb2 had yellow halos too, it indicates that whatever it is is drawing power from the conduit. So alvis has these wings cus he's drawing ALOT of power from the conduit which is likely on the other side of that massive fogbeast rift he's coming out from
But if it's the conclusion of Klaus' experiment (splitting the world into two with the power of the conduit) that only means one of two things: either they go back on the lore that they are fated to meet once again and have them be separate forever, or they find a way to merge them. I don't think they would just change their minds and say that the worlds will never meet again, so the only other thing they could do is merge them, and they can't do that if the story is set exclusively in the past. There's got to be something after the ending or they would just be lying in their own marketing

I think the main story will be a prequel that will go over the founders and how Aionios/Moebius came to be. But Takahashi did said that you will also learn about the future of the franchise from it so I don't think the story will be just a prequel. Though, just like how a lot of the Future Connected hints didn't tell you anything without the context of this trailer, it's possible that what's there won't make any sense until Xenoblade 4.
What do you mean? It was taken by Zanza after he killed her, and then disappeared along with him and his own Monado when Shulk and the others defeated him. The bigger question is why/how Alvis now has the OG Monado. My best guess is that, being one of the trinity processors but also unbound to the blade cycle, he can generate a Monado whenever he wills it.
