TKO is when its called off by the ref without a fighter being unconcious, technical knockout. If the ref stopped the fight then without the standing 8 count it would have been a tko. Just clearing up for anyone not understanding the difference between a ko and tko.

Isnt that the reason the ropes are there and smarter fighters use it. I will tell you this, the smartest fighters would have gone down and take a breather since it still counted as a knock down after taking a few extra unnecessary shots. Go down, take your time getting up, reset and continue forward

I agree with everything Dereck said except weight will allow Fury to steamroll Usyk. If he tries that Usyk just evades until he gasses and then KO's him. He may get early rounds for being the aggressor but he gasses and gets done.

They tried to fix the fight in every way possible, the referee saved Fury from a KO, and the judges almost robbed Usyk despite having a KD and at least 8 rounds won.
If it was fixed they would have given fury the decision.

Everything is a robbery to boxing fans today. The fight was pretty even and leaning towards Fury until the round where usyk almost stopped fury. Then even after that Fury still won at least 1 round so it was the judges job to pick a winner despite of such a close fight. I think Usk deserved the win but it was a split for a reason.
How did Usyk win at least 8 rounds.. fury cleaned out the first 6 and yes a 10/8 round on the knock down and the final round very narrow.. that’s why it was split! Don’t make stupid comments unless you know how boxing is scored.. you don’t score a fight from a single round!

Totally agreed....the ropes stopped Fury from falling so a mandatory 8 count was given......albeit it may have been slow... It's not the first..... The thing that saved fury was the bell seconds later
Then a knockdown should've been called after the first time he bounced off the ropes, not after four times when he's a second away from being knocked out

I agree with Derek, if Fury had put as much effort into chasing Usyk as he did trying to bluff us all into thinking he's winning he might have done better (maybe). As it stands, most of the work was done by Usyk, Fury was just trying to keep him at bay with his long jab and the occasional uppercut (which were working), but Usyk just chased him down and found enough holes to get through and that ninth round! Wow. That was a 20 count easy, ref should have ended it there or left Usyk to finish his work. Good on you Derek for calling out the ref to his face.

Fury too hesitant. When he did let his hands go Usyk couldn’t cope, what ever judge scored it for fury should be put before a judge.
Usyk makes it hard for someone to let their hands go. Its like moving from cover while a sniper has his sights on you. Chisora by far had the best gameplan against Usyk out of all the heavyweights.

Fury got an insanely SLOW count as well in the 1st Wilder fight.
Usyk needs to be given credit for beating the giant heavyweights. I never thought much about this era and this should be a reminder of how skills, will and grit always wins and not just size alone or being bigger.

Fury is undoubtedly a great heavyweight. I have been saying for years though, ever since Usyk became undisputed at cruiserweight that he was special and would be the one to clean up the division.
He surpassed Holyfield to become the greatest cruiserweight of all time and has now become the first 4 belt undisputed heavyweight champion.

Well by many Fury is definitely overrated, we found that out tonight. Alot people were saying Fury would walk right through thus middleweight. That Fury beats everone now and from the past.
Take into account, war torn country really takes its toll on people, dealing with the Gypsy diva also takes its toll. On top of that Usyk's style needs youth to have the stamina and reflexes that he rely upon.
But he still gave Tyson a wooping. Pushed him back and into the corners, had him out on his feet in the 9th. Looked like the ref was about to step in fight as well at that point.
