Talk about being boxed in. 1. Love the aesthetics. The carboard look is really cool. 2. The dynamic music reminds me of a mix of Mick Gordon and Meshuggah.
This is like, mid-2000s school notebook edge…but it’s pulling it off! Real Newgrounds vibes, with the leetspeak, the combination of cutesy and grunge, the constant blending of juvenile humor and over the top hyperviolence. It almost reminds me of Slayers X, but it’s a different era that’s represented here, a completely different subculture and zeitgheist of young experimentation with shock and taboo. Honestly, it's extremely impressive to have accomplished such an earnest sendup to that era, especially in a way that's so effective. Damn well done!
@@AlphaBetaGamerlol this is something I would love to play and literally using a pencil that makes things alive like a bomb it reminds me of SpongeBob with the magic pencil
Very interesting! Cute, but surprisingly gory for a game where everything is paper cutouts. I'm not sure I've seen a game that looks quite like this. The pencil abilities were very interesting but it kind of drove me nuts that its resource was ink.
Huh, curious. Some of those notes recite stories of Snegurochka (Girl made of snow) and Kolobok (living glob of pastry). Both Russian folk tales with theme of creating artificial life :p
Cool surroundings and the idea of exploding paper walls looks natural. Minions are funny, gameplay is fast Interaction with activators is unique. What else do you need after all 😊
Nice to see it alive! I remember playing it early versions at least 3 or 4 years ago. First, it was called Cherep, and was game with primitive figures around. Then they added graphics, only to replace it with completely new style and new name. Nice to see it alive
I love this Vibewise reminds me of that little ol flash game called Sketch Quest- especially with basically feeling like you are going throuhg a notebook of someone who's a little edgy, but still passionate about creating things
Real fun looking. But a nitpick I have is WHY do you run out of ink when your clearly holding a pencil? I mean it’s a shooter so why wouldn’t you call it what it is, lead? It’s right there with its double meaning and everything ripe for puns.
Before anyone tells me, yes, I know it's more cardboard than paper and that it doesn't have much in common with Paper Mario outside of the paper aesthetic, but just let me have this one.
A few comments: Not sure what aesthetic they’re going for with the mix of blood, papercraft, crude doodles and leetspeak, but it seems to work; I love the black comedy. As someone else noted, why is the resource for the pencil weapons called ink? Totally missed the opportunity to call it lead. On a similar note, what’s up with the paperclips everywhere they call coins? I guess the full game will show them being used for something. And in terms of names, I think the “reality-hacker” pencil ability could be called something like “rewrite” to fit better in the aesthetic. In terms of weapon design, anyone find it odd that both of your first two weapons (the bomb and shotgun) are more designed for clumps of weak enemies, and there isn’t really anything for tougher/farther-away enemies like the shooters? Granted, we only have two types of enemies so far, and again, it’ll likely be expanded on, but still. And for enemy health, the stun system makes sense (kicking an enemy into something else kills it, kicking without them hitting anything stuns them and you can finish them off), but still seems a bit wonky to control. I also feel like we didn’t get much of a chance to play with the healing/slow-mo ability with what we had; you didn’t really use it. And does someone feel like the shotgun isn’t translated as well to the papercraft style? Given the appearance of the pickups, where they seem to be painted rectangles of cardboard, I figured they could have another resource called cardboard similar to the pencil lead that was used for these guns. But that might not work for multiple gun types or be necessary. And in terms of expanding things in the full game, I hope we get more info on why everything in the game is papercraft, or how it still acts biological like in all the bizarre experiments; especially since we do see a non-papercraft thing at the end.
The cardboard art reminds me the legend of bumbo Also why are they not calling clips as clips? I think it will not matter to call them with other names but there are caps and stuff in other games why don't add clips to the list

Thank you for summing up exactly what I was thinking way more eloquently than I think I could have done.
Never would I have thought something simple as a stick figure could be so unsettling.
A cardboard DOOM game? I'll admit that's actually really cool.
carDOOM! :)

@@AlphaBetaGamerand at some points when the music base drops it sounds like the theme for Gremlins
Genuinely love how underwhelming the giant security gates sound when they open. Because they're literally just cardboard. It's adorable.
So that's Legend of Bumbo, Doom, and some of the Magic Pencil episode for good measure. Looks like a great time.

An incredibly cool aesthetic, and very creative design to make the most of it!
So many jumpscare visions in this game!
But those visions are kinda cute instead of terrifying
Its like a mix of old flash games, classic doom, and madness by krinkles.
I love this

The quiet kid's arts and crafts project.
Also, really banger music.
Thank You 🙌

Yeah, they totally missed the opportunity for a joke there.

It's mostly a pen disguised as a pencil.
The pencil is truly mightier than a sword
Especially when you can draw and kick bombs with it
Woah!! Thank You for playing 🙌🔥
My pleasure! Loved the game and your music was awesome! :)
Thank You :) really glad to hear that!

Oh hells, they know about your relations with an arcade cabinet Bobbert, time to set this place ablaze. RIP AND TEAR!!!
The new Doom + doodlebob + Ultrakill looks lit tho
def checking THIS out when I get a proper gaming pc that's actually able to handle games!
The real horror here are the mines with no support beams or crescent-shaped concrete plates.
I bet the character isn’t even wearing proper PPE
The character is running from OSHA inspectors for his violations. When he kicks he doesn't even have proper plated work boots on.
@@AntipaladinPedigri And I bet those firearms aren’t using intrinsically safe gunpowder
Safety regulations are followed... ONLY ON PAPER!
the gameplay and weapon design is super smart
Looks cool. Move Coin +1 to the side, because it blocks the fncking view.
This is definitely something to put on a wishlist.
Missed opportunity to call it Papercut; but overall, it looks very fun.
I really hope the game gets put on steam for sale, there are some serious potentiale here.
Dude this is so sick! The aesthetic, the music, everything! I absolutely love it! ❤
Dude, it's a REALLY CRAZY mix of Doom/Quake fps with Cartoon game.. I LIKED IT!. 👍🏻😁
When Doom and Ultrakill made game together
I don't know you guys, I have the feeling that the plot will be paper-thin
Not a lot of contenders in the "papercraft horror" genre, but I like it!
The most "McMillen-ish" game, that is not made by McMillen.
Finally a modern game that has amazing world building with out needing to bring up a characters interpersonal demons and sins
Love this gameplay. I wish the shotgun can be redesigned to fit the "office supplies" aspect though.
The new Paper Mario Thousand Year Door remake looks great!

Paper Goldeneye remake
that was a long-ass demo.
Paper Doom looks lit
It has that gory flash game vibe. Pretty sweet.
> "do not open"
> sticks thumbtack in can
I get squeamish every time you bash your pencil pingas against the razors.
This is the most early 2000s style since Y2K
Unique visuals, gorey, epic battle music, and good god the ambiance is amazing. This may be one of the best Doom-likes I've seen.
So kinda like Super Meat Boy cosplaying as Angerfoot (?) in a Doom/Quake setting?
Now where is the water pistol when you really need it.
100% agree
IS NO ONE GOING TO SAY HOW SIMILAR THIS IS TO LITTLE BIG PLANET LIKE THE SOUND OF COLLECTING COINS IS SO SIMILAR
THAT is what I call art direction.
Someone finally made Doom in Littlebigplanet
"Low ink" someone should tell the devs that pencils don't use ink.
pencils also dont warp reality
either way, yeah, should say something like "Not Sharp Enough"
o mai gudnis
THEY MADE DOOM RUN ON CARDBOARD!!
*Warning: This Game will give you one giant PAPERCUT!!* ‼️📝🩸
Good joke and use of play on words there!
The sinister smileys on everything give it "a everythings well but really isn't" the smiley pentagram is cute :)
DOOM meets Little Big Planet. As a fan of both, I'm looking forward to the full release.
めちゃくちゃ好き
Brilliant
This looks phenomenal 🔥 very special idea
My beautiful paper shotgun
This looks incredible, my only concern is that the flashing might be too intense for some peeps. Any epilepsy options?
Yeah, they're pretty unpleasant.
I don't think so. Isn't there only one kind of epilepsy?
