How would you ho about re-syncing your EWS back to the vehicle?

I’m working on a BMW X6 Hybrid. The EWS does not even come up on the menu but it has an ews code that’s why it won’t start
Can you help , I have an e46 ci convert, when I try to start i can hear the starter motor click but does not turn ,, and the cluster kind of flashes if continue to to turn key.
when i turn the ignition 1 click, i some times hear a clicking sound coming from the boot ,i dont think its the EWS. because the starter motor ingages.
Engine turns freely,,
I had the battery tested and its good ..
I would have this problem from time time ,like come and go , the car has been sitting in my garage for a couple of years its in great condition and it usually starts fine once a month
It might be the starter motor its self ,, but as you now its a pain in tha ass to remove and huge waiste of time if its not the problem and testing it on the car is impossible due to access lol

Has anyone done like a swap out on the ews modules, in particular im trying to get an ews from a '99 323i to a 2000 z3 because the chip/transpondent from z3 fob is missing. Would it work if i dont swap the ignition cylinder hence door locks, just put the chip into the key, and the modules on the dash?

By the click of a button you don’t see the button because my EWS is working fine !!!
Only if it’s faulty you will see it say UNLOCK / remove
BMW Doctor would you have to re do this every time the battery is disconnected

This might not make sense but would having a not name brand BMW key throw my car into limp mode it keeps happening and only started after I got the key

is the ignition barrel coded to the ews? i knoiw the key is but if the transponder is coded for the ews but will the actual barrel work with a new ews?

Take a breath😂😂😂😂😂😂😁👍, have got 2f44 code on a 2005 116 manual , after starter replaced for none crank , fault won't clear , car cranks over , tried to realign key with autoboss v30 , no communication? , But if I try key it's showing signal on both keys , number 2 and number 3 key , can get fuel pump to work off scanner to test , rev counter moves on cranking

My friend these kind of cheap tools won’t do crap for that car you have tripped EWS and I bet I know why it’s been hard to start to many attempts to start car will trigger ews only way to get that off is to be good at soldering and special programmers needed

I have the same tool, but i dont see rhe immobilizer on the app??? Is there a reason its not showing up? Did it get accidentally turned off or something how can i fix that

So I have a problem with my e46 it has ews 4.3. every two weeks or even more often the imobilizer disconects, not the key. I've tried changing the key battery, changing the key, changing the car battery, nothing worked. People tell me that I have to change the ECU, EWS, key and lock. Is there a bypass for this?

Hi there. I have an E46 320i and I had a big problem that took me a long time to figure out. I checked the battery, the starter and even replaced the ignition switch. No crank and no start. I discovered by accident that the fault was in the immobilizer. It had a broken capacitor. The repair cost €0.50 but took two years to discover. No need to replace the immobilizer. It was just repaired. To this day the car has never broken down again.

Had a similar problem, car starts drives, then when I come back to it it’s dead...! So I got out the car locked it with the key button and then opened it with just the key in the lock...the alarm went off so I pressed the key fob and then was able to switch the car back on 🤷🏻♂️ very strange

When i try to start the engine it moves a little and stops , like it feels the starter is not able to rotate the engine even one round . What should i do with it as i removed the belt to see and as i press start button the engine round moves a little and then stops
One day my car stopped cranking... I thought it might have been the starter, so to check i popped the clutch and it turned on... no big deal I figured ill get a starter and rode it lie that for about a week... a week later... popping the clutch wouldn't start it... could it be my key?

Hello Doctor , my car is locking and unlocking constantly when is too warm outside , and recently my car cranks everything is good but doesnt start , i checked the EWS thing and when i pull it 1 pin was broken and 1 was coroded do you think the ews might stop my car from turning on cuz it cranks but doesnt start... Supposedly your ecu and ignition system NEEDS the signal from it
immo off ecu thats only way , this video only shows how to check immo status

Hello, I have a '91 E31 850i. I pulled the engine harness last weekend so I could insulate the fuel rails and I kept the car outside in case of any gas spills. Well, over the period of several days I had car opened or locked, hood or trunk open, while locked, so I think I have messed up the immobilizer. I cannot seen to override this feature even following the owner's manual instructions. OBC is also looking for 'CODE ----' but I have no idea what number previous owner might have used. Any suggestions? Thanks,
I have a 2007 x3..I have run all the BMW software diags from my laptop, everything checks out except, the immobilizer will not communicate. it says the immobilizer is bad? What to do? An immobilizer module is not even available anymore?
Hey doc, I have the Autel MaxiMK808. Great tool, thanks for recommending! I’ve had a no crank no start since changing out my starter. The charging cable on it was not working (the starter was fine). I have a brand new Bosch starter on it now. Anyways, my EWS system has some fault codes for being under voltage And not being able to communicate with the computer, so I cleared the codes and made sure my battery was fully charged. My live data page looks the exact same as yours (should be no issues). It’s still a no crank no start. Any ideas on where to go after this?
