Using shims to adjust the valve clearance is very common with motorcycle engines. This being a Suzuki I'm going to guess those exact shims are also used in some of their motorcycle engines. Ultimately my point is that you can buy shim kits that have a bunch of shims in various thickness to bring the valve clearance into spec, if you source them from the motorcycle world.

I did try our local motorcycle shop and they are too big in diameter compared to many motorcycle engines. In the end it was an order from Japan.
