Steph, LOVE your videos. You explain in full detail all about each variety of flowers and shburbs. I always feel that I have attended a professional horticultural class after viewing. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.I hope that you will continue to post after the summer season. 😇😇
Hi Christie!! Thank you so much for you kind words, I'm smiling. I don't have any formal training, but have gobbled up as much gardening info as I could get my hands on for the last 10 years. I will talk plants with anyone that will listen. Actually that's how this channel came about. My family and friends would glaze over when I went on blabbing about plants 🤣😂 Now I get to share my love of plants with all my UA-cam friends! I do plan to continue posting after the season is over. Hopefully I can have content that people will still enjoy.
I love it went you go to these stores and show and tell us all about the different flowers, shrubs and tree's. I get so excited. Thank you for working g so hard for us. I just love all your video's. ❤
Those Asters got the JUICES flowing ...I've had enough of the over 70 days triple digits this summer more than twice this year compared to our average summer. This is why Summer is my least favorite season. Thankfully we are dry tho' very very little humidity. Loved those Hibiscus.... Beautyberry and those grasses. 😍 so ready for the cool down!!! Best planting season cometh ....Fall❤😍😘
Those asters are fun! Its a plant I don't have yet, but hope to find a cool one to add at some point. Very excited for Fall! Its so comfortable to plant in cooler weather 🌱
I agree it is important. I have been trying to incorporate some more into my garden when I can. I showed some Joe Pye Weed which is a great pollinator friendly native and I actually bought some for my garden this year as well.
@@HookedandRooted Doug Tallamy is my hero. In 2017 I spent all my money on solar, geothermal and a Chevy Volt. But, I think plants and trees are just as important for clean air and clean water. In NJ we passed a bill that vendors have to carry 50% natives.
Hi Jolinda! they really are great year 2 and 3. They seem to double in size each year! My perfect storm Hibiscus is great this year, so large! The holy grail has a stunning red coloring!
Another great video, Steph! If someone said to me I could only pick 1 thing to shop for and I had to choose books or plants, I would cry! So many great choices for some late Summer/early Autumn color for the garden. Have a great weekend!
You are so welcome!! I'll be planting this chelone in my next video posting tomorrow evening if you wanted to see it in the garden. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
I’m so eager for more plants! We’re only just getting warm weather in Colorado (bizarre climate change!) so I’m just getting some full throttle summer.
Hi there! We had about a week of hotter temps, but in general we've had avery mild summer with pretty comfortable temps and some regular rain, which is a good change over last years drought and extreme heat. At least its keeping the garden mostly happy, especially the weeds love the rain lol. I hope it cools off for you soon and you can enjoy planting some more things🌱
I have a rose of Sharon in my yard that just showed up a couple of years ago and I let it flower and loved the flower so I let it stay but I didn’t know the name and now thanks to you it’s the Fiji. I also have another one that showed up and the leaves are variegated and the flowers are a white with a very light shade of pink and darker in the middle. It’s beautiful but I don’t know the name of it. Love your videos.❤❤❤
Hi there! We are very lucky to have good one. I have about 3 within 20 minutes of me, so I visit most of them pretty regularly. I still like mine (this one), the best. They all vary so much. Thanks for watching.
Oh my gosh, I go right to Home Depot, about an hour away, every time you share plants either at your home or a store. I have moved so I'm getting new plants little by little. Do you know how to find out when Home Depot has plant sales? Today it was half off roses, I'm hoping for a hydrangea sale! I bought 4 Berry Whites today and am hoping to catch a sale to get more. Thank you for all you do.
I wish my HD stocked like yours. I'm in Mid Michigan & what they have available is pretty basic. But I love looking at your videos for ideas. I do order PW online.
Hi there! I'm sorry yours isn't better. But you are so right! Most of these plants, especially the Proven Winners can be ordered online. I actually recently ordered some firelight tidbit hydrangeas from them, and they arrived in great shape. I show them here in this video in case your interested: ua-cam.com/video/9AtVjZ1dZZc/v-deo.html
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Jo! They seem like such cool plants for this time of year. What do you think may have been the cause? Perhaps the soil or sun conditions, or did you have a tough winter?
@@HookedandRooted yes weird winter. Second or third winter with me. In Dec it was 69 and dropped to 7 in that day and stayed there overnight. Very early freeze and no frosts up to that point. Wrecked ya Vick on Azaelias and a lot of bushes. Even my Leyland Cypress burned and Hollywood Junipers started shedding their needles. Most came back. Fig died to the ground but waited and it is 5 ft tall now. Patience was worth it. Lots of people cut things back early but I waited. Azaleas came back for the most part.
Hi Amanda! I am so glad to have added some to my garden. I was tempted by it last year, so I tried growing it from seed and did get germination, but my plants are babies. So when I saw this large container I just had to have it! I have a video going live tonight that shows where I planted it 💚
@HookedandRooted I think you will be surprised as to where you can put them. I have a lot of shade in my back yard. I have small backyard with 2 very mature oaks. They suck up all the water. Mine once they were established deal with alot less water.
Some 45 year old employee hijacked the Pandora and is playing his demo tape from 1999 as a last stab at getting the fame he’s always felt he deserves 😂😂😂😂 ROCK ON ❤😂
The only bad thing about these videos is that they have an end 🥲😊 Where is this Home Depot? I need to go there, I don't get any of this beauties in two HD I check here where I live in Massachusetts, Why HD do that? (Crying)
I adore these videos 🩷 thank you so much for doing them for us 😊
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you enjoy them.
I'm so envious. Your Home Depot and Lowes both have a much better selection of plants than mine have.
I am also envious. I live in MD and my Home Depot does not have near the selection as hers.
I agree too! I live in south central Kansas 6b and my Lowe’s and Home
Depot have such a small selection by this time of the year!
My home depot (and the other 2 within 15inutes of me) have the smallest plant section I have ever seen.
Maybe because they haven’t restocked. Mine is slowly restocking this past week.
@CristinaOcampo8 for mine, the actual garden center is tiny. It is half the size of the garden center of the home depot by my parents.
Hi Stef🌺 Thanks for awonderful tour of these cool plants and trees . I lovet . Have anice day 🌻🌺🌻
You're so welcome Lina! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Have a great weekend!

My Sedum autumn joy is absolutely beautiful along my front path garden bed. It's my fav!
Its a great Perennial! 🌸
I’m happy to see you have some fails like us ❤ have to show the good and the bad
Love you going over plants, you do so good at it!!!😊
Thank you so much Sonya! 😊
Oh Aster!! I hope I find some at my home depot. Thanks Steph!

Thank you so much for these local store garden department tours…. Great way to see what is available in my zone. You do a great job!
You're so welcome Cheryl, and thank you so much!!

Hi Patricia!! Oh I so get that!! If someone asked me about plants, or crochet, I might have the same dilema lol Have a great weekend!!
@@HookedandRooted I wish I knew how to crochet!
That Hinoki Cypress 'Kerdalo' Steph!! 😮😮😍😍 It's so beautiful!
The color was gorgeous Mary!! 😍
Great video Steph - thanks for the detail and time you give us when we go plant shopping with you♥
Your so welcome Robyn!! Glad you enjoy them, happy to have you along virtually plant shopping with me 🌱💚
Beautiful selection 🥰 I cannot wait to see what Fall decorations they have 🤗
They haven't brought in any decor yet, just plants, but soon I'm sure Jasmine! So exiting! I just love Fall. 💚
Hermoso dia

You are so welcome!

You are so welcome! Thanks for watching Patricia!
Thank you for showing us the plants that are available
My pleasure 😊 Thanks for watching Liz!
Thank You!
Beautiful plants. I zone in zone 8 south and our box stores don’t look like yours. Truly amazing. Thanks for sharing
Hi Angie, You're so welcome! Thanks for watching 🌱
The chelone are so pretty! Thank you for introducing them to me. I've never heard of them.

I looked for those holy grail hibiscus, but they didn’t have them at my Home Depot. Hopefully soon! (Zone 9A CA)

Your Home Depot is the bomb. Mines has no where near the choices as yours. And what they do have is dying. Smh. Thanks for the video. ❤

I can never find those Hybiscus at the Lowe's or Home Depot in my area . I wish I could cause those are so pretty.
Hi Tonya! try home depot.com. I've been able to buy some great PW shrubs and plants on their site.
Can’t even think about fall. 107 in north Texas.
I'm so sorry, that must be very unfortable heat. I hope it cools off a bit for you soon.
Where in MA is this HomeDepot, I leave in the South coast areas and mine sucks, the plants are all dry and dying!
Hi there! This one is in the southcoast, Dartmouth. I find it to be a great one! I have about 3 that I visit regularly.
@@HookedandRooted thank you so much, I pass by it and never go in. I usually go to the one in my town. 😊
I lost my 2 Caryopteris Monrovia) Bluebeards. One is starting to come back a foot tall 😄 MS 7b

😂🤣🤘
Does Home Depot have a 1-year guarantee like Lowe's?
Can anyone give me a review on the Asters? I keep looking at them but I’m afraid their flowering show will not last long.
I think I need hetz midget after watching this 😊
Looks like it stays on the smaller side of things, which is great! Hope you find one Celeste!
My getto home depot dont have anything beautiful same lowes😢
I hope yours gets some better things in soon!
My Home Depot is empty 😢
So expensive now.
