Truth be told you grabbed the wrong grill for that sub possibly. You got the W3 grill it seems. The W6 grill is going to be much deeper that what you have to handle excursion. Plus you are mounting it wrong. That lip that is on the grill snaps onto the mounting ring while the driver and ring are mounted in the box. The grill you have to mount on the grove in the ring near the top of the ring. Firmly squeeze NOT HARD to feed the lip into the trim ring. this will fit w6 v3 as well just fitted mine fits perfect like pepe salgado said just unscrew screws pop of the round clip of grill sits perfect on top
The lip of the grill it so small, the one and only way to mount the grill would be to place it under the ring. How else could/would the speaker grill be installed? This is a no brainer... i guess COMMON SENSE isnt SO COMMON now a days.
He's not explaining what grill is for what, he's showing how to put it on correctly! Meaning starting from the w3-w7 of course they all have different fittings 🤦..
Appoximently how much height did this add to the sub. I just need a idea for the box I'm building and I want the grill to be flush with the box. Thank you in advance
update: the woofer later kicked the grill off. This grill just plain ole sucks. This is why when you by this box no grill comes with it , JL knows it sucks. Dont waste your money , your woofer will just kick it off later.
