The issue was how quickly, the cadence of the tough defenders coming into the game. It’s not that defenders exist. Know Kabam has acknowledged this so it made sense to cut this part out.
Also, recently buffed Sinister is an excellent counter to Bullseye. I showed that here

Vega I hope they give us a Counter for Serpent hes waay worse then Bullseye especially on Aspect of evolution node lol. I dont want Serpent to be nerfed I'd rather see more counters honestly. 😊
I think the instant bleed damage he does to you even when you dex his basic attacks is actually so stupid. That’s the most unfair mechanic he has imo. Yes his block penetration during his undexable special attacks is also bs, but taking damage even when dexing is the craziest, stupid defender mechanic I’ve ever seen
Bleed damage just for dexing is a bit much. Thats the only thing that should go imo
He should not be nerfed, he should be deleted

I find he is just not fun to play against…ruins the game for me. Needs slight adjustment with his evade charge and the timer imo.
If bullseye is causing this much ruffle in the community, I don't know how they will react to serpent and his rebalancing.
The only thing I would like changed on Bullseye is his block penetration. It's far too powerful in war, even using the soft counters. But I do appreciate hard counters in the game. That's where the node creation and interaction come into play. Kabam has nerfed AA, Torch, and Nimrod through more advanced nodes. Tbh, a complaint could be made about not being able to use our favorite attackers as much anymore based on the advanced nodes/tactics. This is classic give and take so Kabam will need to have keen awareness when they launch new tactics, nodes, and champions. Great video as always Vega! Please, don't leave us!
Yeah these are all super valid and I agree. The block pen is also an issue and could be tuned way down. And tbh that was/is part of how Kabam killed war for me (the other issues you brought up)
I think we will Always see some hard counters impossible for this game too keep going and making certain defenders that eventually get counters it happened when Doom came then they brought in Torch it happened with Korg so kabam gave us Apocalypse and so forth but I agree we cant get full on class counters even Though Nega Sonics damage is not great and she seems very slow and very Squishy imo.😊
I disagree ait. They need to add a cooldown timer on his evade charge. HE should not be able to chain sp1s and constantly be able to evade
The problem I have with bullseye is not BGs, but AW where nodes and bans make him op on boss or stun immune nodes.

Node 49 all the time, can’t parry because of stunning reflection and after 2/3 hits into his block I’m getting parried. I have NTW and the evade places an indestructible on him so I’ve died with the “hard counter” in war
I think if bullseye was to fully consume his killer instinct on a special attack while on defense, that would balance him nicely
warlock, storm, onslaught archangel kushala emma frost, both storms, kitty pride, to add to your 21:06 and there’s even more than that. Kate bishop and Nick fury can also take him. But he’s still a scary defender. I do personally love the warlock matchup as you can be decently aggressive once he’s infected.
Totally agreed with all of this. Like we’ve talked about, I think the peni pendulum swung a little too far and she’s gaining a bit of relevance, but she was one of my first R4s and I took her out of my deck for almost 2 years until I got the 7 star rank 2, and that sucks.
Only change I want to see on bullseye is the bleed on dex for basics, I like the skill ask on the SP1 for parrying to avoid the bleed, but when his AI is passive and you eat shit through no fault of your own having to dex and block his basics, that really sucks.

100% agree with your points. For Bullseye, other than what you suggested, I would love to see his killer instinct after his special to be reduced just a bit. 3 sec is a long time. Even at 1 sec, we will not be able to punish his special.
As someone who got lucky and has a 7* r2 sig 20 NTW and a 7* r3 sig 40 Bullseye, I’m glad she’s in the game. What I like about Bullseye is that he’s a fun and effective attacker even if he stops being a PITA defender.

Insightful stuff Vega, really think you've hit the nail on the head. To be honest my recent rank up decisions have all been on lower tier champs on the basis I know the A and S tier champs are being accounted for in other people's decks and wars, really enjoying playing with alternative champs (shout-out to my R5 Vulture 😂)

Bullseye was honestly the first defender that I genuinely didn’t want to fight against EVER… when he first came out and we had to fight him as part of the side quest, it made me angry and annoyed because I felt like no matter who I used or how hard I tried, he was gonna wipe the floor with my champs. I don’t mind fighting tough defenders but I at least want to feel like I can win or chip them down a fair bit before using the next champ on my team.

Also I find bullseye not the most troublesome guy cause many of his counters are great champs that many people run including me, but that serpent guy, he’s a real menace
Yeah, I have a feeling there will maybe be a similarly formatted video on Serpent in a month or two. One thing that maybe makes me not a good person for it though is I have America and Kushala at R3 and Sorcerer Supreme at R2 so I have "all the counters"

Great coverage of a concerning topic. Selling the poison and the cure has been an issue for a while. I'd hoped that the rebalancing of new champs would address this. Having a r3 Bullseye i'll be banning any NTW for sure.

For me, AA is my go to bullseye counter. The only problem with AA is that hes very much RNG dependent. If you can’t get those neurotoxins up before bullseye gets to 1 bar, you’re screwed. Plus you still take a bunch of block damage

These sorts of videos are exactly why I love watching your videos. You provide amazing and intelligent analysis of stuff in the game. Personally I see NTW coming into decks pretty quickly as an ascended 6*, but I don’t believe she’ll be as dominant as Galan and Hulkling. Her raw damage isn’t high enough to become a staple BG champ long term. Current counters to Bullseye such as CGR, Sunspot and Sinister I think will out-score her anyway.

I really like this video. Defenders will naturally be devalued over time, but hard counters from a few champs that drop the defender value to the floor just isn’t cool. Totally agree about the bleed on evade.

I love using prof x as a counter to him also cause once you get that vigilance up you don’t have to worry about that evade at all and he’s not bad to deal with after that
Bullseye did 8% of damage to your hp with just one special in block even with the last perfect block.
If that high ranked sunspot didn’t get that last crit, wouldn’t that match have been an automatic loss based on the end results of you and your opponent. Also note this wasn’t a 7* with the pierce stat focus
Also, with his evade, if he doesn’t throw his special, he can stall the match and lock you in the corner if you don’t have an evade counter. That should at least have the timer start after a bar of power on defense.
Throw in the tactic defender + everything else, and he’s practically dominated war all Saga. Especially with the lower pool “viable” champs(such as warlock) cause of needing a tactic defender
I’m also not a fan of having super hard to dex specials BUT IF you can even dex it, Bleed damage. If you DONT dex it, crit and bleed damage. Got an evade? He’s an evade counter. Wanna phase? Better be kitty, cause he counters that too🫥

sunspot can easily do a 7 star bullseye with block pen stat focus basically the same as the 6 star, with better play u can get like 50.5k - 51k easy
So sinister not an option to counter? I think people will just learn how to beat him on defense. Photon used to be annoying as well until we learned how to beat her. But I do agree with the vid about selling the cure for these cancerous Defenders.
Sinister can take him, photon isn’t that bad because you can play around her abilities, bullseye doesn’t give you a chance to do that, you absolutely need a counter.
With photon as long as you know how her pure light form works you’re good.
Also sinister can’t do his stun hold to counter his evade when he’s a war boss which he’s usually been placed all saga. Idk if sinister a tactic attacker either, maybe but idk

100% agreed. One of my favorite bullseye counters is Punisher 2099, but he needs to dance around a bit in the beginning of the fight so taking bleed with dex is very annoying.
Great vid. The comparison to Peni fits. She went from being an autoban defender to not being in decks at all.
Weapon X has been my favorite Bullseye counter. I like how the interaction between their kits made Weapon X a relevant attacker.
I took NTW to r5 and chose to ascend r5 Sinister over her. Regen on crits and no bleed damage makes Sinister more forgiving against Bullseye if you make a mistake.
Okay after watching i would be okay with change to bleed on dex but really I've have fun figuring out bullseye. Was super fun getting him from arena and having him R5 ascended way before a lot of people 😂

I’m on the complete other side of this argument. They’ve released champions where if you don’t have THE perfect champion you take unavoidable damage and that to me is completely absurd. When it comes to bullseye there are 2 changes to his kit that would make him fair.
1. If you dex, you should not take damage, and there should be a full dex mechanic for his specials if he continues to crit and bleed through block. Fighting the perfect fight vs bullseye never getting hit should not ever end up with you losing 30% health. Even with iceman who’s bleed immune I finish perfect fights at 70% because he crits through block and you can’t full dex sp1.
2. Killer Instinct should be on a 3 second timer. If you push him past a bar of power you should not be locked in place until he throws a special without an evade counter. There needs to be a way to take most champions into a fight without getting stuck in a mechanic that leads to unavoidable damage in a perfect fight.
If you’re gonna release defenders with that many mechanics, then you need to provide hard counters and plenty of them so you can’t get banned out of hard counters. Like in my opinion the next tech champion released should be immune to neuroshock AND reverse controls AND daunted because all of those mechanics on onslaught are absolutely broken.
I keep wanting to call her “Teenage Warrior” too. Haha

For those of you that did not know, prowler is also a hard counter to Bullseye. Medium, medium (prowlers medium can not miss) and Bulleye will not be able to evade
Iceman was literally the first counter that people were using. He is not a “newly” discovered counter.
I have teenage warhead at r5 as a 6* and she’s amazing but she doesn’t feel like a nimrod that’s takes down mutants fast
I like everything u are saying, remove bleed on dex and for me i would tune down a bit his block penetration..i face a 7r2 war boss a went with mega sonic, 6r5 ascended full boost and suicide .. i died and he was still a 60%.. i have the footage if u would like to see it ..
As somwbody who doesnt play high tier AW, i would love it if he didn't get nerfed because i pulled him as a 7* but won't rank him until i find out. However.... i believe he honestly should be toned down, even if it's just lowering his crit theough block damage.
Even when you're bleed immune you take enough damage through block on the sp1. In bg's, it sucks but you can still win.
In high tier AW, that costs high tier AW players expensive potions constantly, so i feel for them in that regard.
Kabam lost me with the last 9 months or so. I have never been less interested in or motivated to play this game since I started. I no longer look forward to new champ releases. Dust is the last time I bothered to read the kits.

The cadence of these defenders coupled with an inability to acquire them (outside of spending) means ranking both them and their counters incredibly difficult. Then when those counters get banned or not drafted, its so easily leave a sour taste

Man I kind of just gradually stopped playing these past couple weeks. I used to be excited for new champs but I’m just not at the moment. Maybe I need a break again. But when it comes down to it I never force myself to play games, I play when I’m having fun. I find myself having fun in other games and Mcoc isn’t on my mind. For the time being thats just how things are, maybe I’ll get the itch to play again later.
We've all seen numerous champs take down these "brick wall defenders". Trust the community to figure them out.

I don't even ban him anymore. He's not that big of a threat. There's legit 6-7 answers to cheese bullseye. Idk the hype and complaining. We never nerfed bishop and there's only a couple solid answers to him. Or maestro. Or photon. I just don't think he's that difficult of a defender outside of xmagica war

I don't like bullseye type defenders in general because it takes the skill and fun out of the game. Beating bullseye is more based on whether or not you get lucky and draft a good counter in bgs. They're making a lot of defenders like that now. The game should be - play well and get rewarded.
I’d be ok if he kept his bleed. I’m not a fan of the killer evade being on a delay. I think if it was consumed on using the special he’d still be plenty annoying as a chip defender but he’d feel far less “cheap”. And that’s the real problem I think this video missed discussing. There’s a cheapness feeling to playing against bullseye. I never feel great having a perfect fight against him, just lucky enough to draw a cooperative AI and experience flawless controls

I don’t think he should be changed at all. A lot of people complain about him but we need good defenders in this game if not war will get stale and no real challenge. If they dumb down champs all there is next to do is to continue to make stupid nodes like they have now and in the past. I prefer harder defenders than stupid nodes. Negasonic is greatly needed. People tend to forget that Kabam has said publicly in the past that they were going to release champs that needed specific counters to beat them and that’s what they have done. People knew this and still get butt hurt if you don’t like it then stop playing the game its not that hard.
NTW should never have been released with her current kit. You mention that she will not solve all skill defender issues due to her lack of immunities, but that applies to every "overpowered" attacker that has invalidated entire classes of champions we've seen before (like Torch, Nimrod, Quake). In my opinion, there shouldn't exist a champion that invalidates an entire class in a vacuum because it introduces significant design challenges for the future. We've seen this play out before: they will have to introduce "anti-NTW" nodes into every mutant lane, but this solution has its own issues. All the weaknesses that counter NTW are also weaknesses of 90% of existing mutants (imagine they'll have to add hazard shift to every skill defender to counter her xd).
As for Bullseye, a slight nerf should be enough: he should not apply bleed on successful dexterity (this way you are rewarded for fully evading his SP1) and decrease his block penetration.
This is also the main difference between bullseye and onslaught. I can fight onslaught with any champ and take minimal dmg even without a counter (as long as you can dex sp1), I canno't do the same for bullseye. Additionally the issue with him will grow exponentially as you fight more stacked versions: Even in the fight you have presented he took 8% from a single sp1 while perfect blocking 2 hits, now imagine a 7r3 with pierce stat foucs.
NTW Damage isn’t amazing the puzzle could still be there to win BG matches if she isn’t fast enough

So before really watching the video I'm gonna rant a bit. Bullseye is a dick i get it, but no he doesn't need nerfed. It took time to really get a solution to bullseye especially in BGs and AW but now I've got at least 4 counters and that's before NegaSonic which i didn't have yet. People need to chill with crying nerf and take the time to learn to beat him as i have. I'm not a super great player either, i feel like I'm a good player, even well above average but please for the love of God don't nerf bullseye. Now on to the video!
And just to name the counters that work great in case everyone is like yeah right. Storm X, weapon x, Kitty Pride, Ice Man. That's 4 right there and now we have Sinister.

Nega Sonic in my mind aswell as every 2024 Attacker so far have all missed the ball and there damage is just not their at all. I look at older champs kabam makes as 7* and they just hit and attack soooo much better then these new champs do these new champs are just weak lets say it. Low base damage low DOT and low Special attack damage idk why but its becoming very annoying. 😊

Dude, you are just tired of the game bro. You have been for about a year now. You have gotten out of it what you wanted and now you slowly getting more and more tired of it. This selling patterns is one they have had from the beginning, cause problem sell solution. It's the only way they can make money. This game is far too skilled for a micro payment game and so bc you can still beat most of the game with Hyperion, they have to create problems and sell cures to make money even more then more predatory micro payment games. It didn't bother you when it was Nimrod bc you loved the game more back then. There is no difference here, he killed/nerfed the mutant class and it sounds like this mutant will kill/nerf the skill class. Same same. It is your feeling about hat game that is different. It is bc back in the nimrod days you liked the game much more so did not feel the coercion as much bc you still liked buying champs back then, which is part of loving the game. You are done with this game bro, you have been trying to find ways to deny that bc you like the people you play with. But if that is not enough any more to make you love the game, what is the point. When you do move to another game, I will likely not follow you, only bc the last thing I need in my life is another micro payment game in my life and this one is actually the least predatory one I have played. Yes they are brutal animals, yes they live off off cashing in on addictions in many ways and yes in essence they are a casino on business plan. Still they are the least brutal casino with the best game attached I have played. I do want to thank you for everything, you have helped me immensely in this game.
