Introducing yourself to colleagues can be AWKWARD if you're starting a new job or your first day on the job.
It’s surprisingly difficult knowing what to say and what not to say about yourself when you want to leave the best impression possible. How to introduce yourself to colleagues can be nerve-racking.
I created this video to share some tried-and-true techniques on how to introduce yourself at a new job in a way that only sets you up for success in your professional career.

When I introduce myself, sometimes I lost my logic, and sometimes I don't know what I should share and what is unnecessary. I get nervous especially I'm not a native speaker. Your video helps me a lot. Thank you!

It really does! A smile makes all the difference.
For the smiling tip! I began to notice how many of my close friends in high school and the beginning of college mention how scary it was to approach me and how I was so different once they got to know me! I think it was a good wakeup call about how I was coming off to strangers at that time! I definitely agree with Adriana's tips! 😄

Hey thanks ... Tomorrow is my first day . Tomorrow I will be entering into new phase of life which is student to job person. Little nervous amd worried about how am I going to spend 8-9 hrs without my friends. Cause in college I always had someone with me but tomorrow will be different.

Hi, really interesting video. I am generally very shy around people that I don't know, and am not very good at meeting new people. This includes when I start a new job (or even when other people start working at the same place as me), or in a social environment like joining a new club. I believe that as I tend to avoid approaching people I haven't met before that I come across as unapproachable myself, and don't make it easy for people to feel comfortable approaching me. I'm generally outgoing amongst people that I know, but it is the initial meeting that I struggle with. I'm starting a new job in a couple of months so I know I need to make a better effort to meet and talk to new people.
Hi Richard, have confidence in yourself! It's ok to be shy but know that you've got this. Smile, introduce yourself and know that you have lots to offer to the new people that you meet and work with. I didn't do this very well in my first couple of new jobs. I was much too serious. Now, I'm much more relaxed and friendly. I think after watching this I would probably mention that I'm a passionate tournament chess player and volunteered coaching kids chess for 3 years.
