This is our first time doing a supercut, and we'd like to hear back from you guys if this is something we should do in the future, likely with even more games and longer series
I thought about the idea in the EA forum of having a similar festival playlist in a Need For Speed Hot Pursuit sequel of the game which will fit the play style that it already has. Hopefully they could add it.
We have reached a point where new maps, tracks or even newer cars or customisation won't bring back the excitement behind a great racing game anymore. They have to tread into the never done before to make racing games great again. By that I mean damage models , crashes , sense of speed ( speed thrills , but the sense of thrill is no where to be seen in newer racing games unless you driving the fastest car of the game ). Burnout 3 still feels awesome to play. It has fewer cars than I remember it to be having, a shorter campaign and yet it feels amazing. It's 20 years old now! Nfs most wanted had the thrill of you getting caught ( lose all bounty points ) if you did something wrong. Remove the rewind button first and a race feels thrilling. Or limit it like grid legends. Grid 2008 was an amazing game because you were on the edge of your seat thinking whether your teammate would make it and get points for your team. Also damage and totalling your car mattered. Forza motorsport 2023 is the most boring campaign I have ever played in a racing game. Nothing feels good except for the cars on the controller. The graphics aren't mind blowing either. It wasn't a polished experience either. None of the things that worked great for forza arent here anymore. Download tune for your un drivable car to make it drivable ? You can't. You have to drive it till you reach level 50 before you have enough points to buy the upgrades ! Livery can only be changed from the cars tab in main menu and there isn't even a preview button ! Cars are overpriced and event variety is totally non existent. Race or practice that's it!!!
For me, it's still amazing that there is people defending this game. It's one thing if that person likes it, there's nothing wrong with that. But even if that person likes it, he/she should realize the things wrong with this game. But I refer to the people arguing that this is without any doubt, the best racing game of 2023. I remember that Grid Autosport's campaign was also boring and repetitive as well. However, at least Autosport have different disciplines and you can finish them however you want. And the races in Autosport are full race sessions: Practice, QUALIFYING and the Race. And to be completely honest, it felt immersive. Something that the "built from the ground up" game, 9 years after the release of Grid Autosport, couldn't match in the slightest. And that's an issue, Forza Motorsport is a 7th gen game, promoted and selled as an 9th gen game
@@zacariascisneros6399 exactly. Grid autosport was also the only grid game I couldn't get myself to finish it despite owning it on multiple platforms. IMO as far as the grid series goes, grid 2008 was the best grid. Grid legends was surprisingly good. ( 2 campaigns , and campaign 1 was a blast , while 2 being grindy... all in all the second best grid for me , damage system is still bad though). Grid 2 was way too short and removed a lot of good things about grid while grid reboot was like the worst. The damage system was thrown out campaign was lacklustre. Grid autosport was fine I just felt the handling was a bit off for a grid game. Forza motorsport 2023 is no way built from the ground up. At max settings I see textures popping up and a lot of low resolution objects. The grass is bad ? I don't know it just doesn't look good. At launch the performance was terrible. I play on a 4070 and it was a new pc for me and I was baffled that I couldn't get this game to run on a solid 60fps ( this rig is way better and 2 generations newer than Xbox series x ! ). The graphical settings to this day are a mess. The car view mode for some of the cars look really bad. Lamborghini sesto elemento interior was like something from a ps3 game. I don't know how this got into a 2023 game. It took me 70 hours something to complete the entire campaign but it felt like I drove for 40 hours unnecessarily. It's because of the practice 3 laps before the race. Race followed by race was really refreshing after this ( can only be played on free play mode ). Coming from grid legends this was just a snooze test. That game had multi class races , elimination races , electric cars with boost events, drift events , touge races downhill, trucks and a lot more. Also fm 2023 doesnt even award you with cars ! Finish 5 or 6 championships in a series and you get one car. To play those you have to initially buy a car from that series and my god what a grind it was. I booted up fm for this week's championship series and found out I needed 300k to buy the car to compete. Well at this point , NO . I just deleted the game. I was seriously looking forward to this title since I don't want to buy a ps5 to try gt7. 3 Months since launch and it went stale. Another serious issue is fm getting awards. Seriously the crew motorfest is the best racing game of 2023 even though it's arcade. Hotwheels unleashed 2 is also a good game. Fm 2023 doesnt deserve any awards. The only thing it does right is the controller support and feel for a simcade racer.
For me, the best racing games are Driver San Francisco, TDU2, NFS MW 2005, Forza Horizon 3, and Midnight Club LA. GT4 and Forza M 4 seems to be amazing as well, but I never played them. There are a bunch more excellent games that I am not aware of. And those games came out about a decade ago. All these games are unique and do what they have to do extremely well. I wonder why there arent more of these games today. I wish I could play these games on new hardware. A remaster would be nice. Slightly better textures, maybe improve the AI and add a couple new cars, and re-launch them.
@@dr.sivavignesh664 I played Motorsport in Series S. And I know that in terms of power, the Series S is the weakest Xbox Series console. However, I played different games, and almost every game I've played looked better than Motorsport (Especially Forza Horizon 4, which was released almost 6 years ago on the Xbox One). And even if it's the version with the fastest loading times, it still feels freaking long for a 9th gen only game. - I've played different games that came before Motorsport, and of almost every game I can say something that ONLY that game has (even if I liked it or not). But Forza Motorsport, has nothing that can make it unique, not even its good things: Driving? Yes, it's good. But I also played sims, arcade racers and simcades that also drive great or better (RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo 6, Burnout Paradise, etc) Cars selection? Yes, it's good. But Gran Turismo 6 had almost 1300 cars, and to an extent, were up to the date of the game's release. Even Forza Horizon 4 has more cars and a better selection than Motorsport '23 Menu music? at best, it's decent. But it's far from something that a Gran Turismo or even Shift 2 Unleashed can offer you. - Probably the GT fans have this game as the worst in the franchise (I highly disagree), but Gran Turismo 6 (even with all its flaws) in the PS3 gave me more fun and content than the "from the ground up" Forza Motorsport. And what was even worse, is that Motorsport'23 was my actual introduction to the Forza franchise, and I was disappointed. But I just thought "it's impossible every Forza game is as bad and soulless as Motorsport.". Then I played Horizon 4. Horizon 4 may not be the best racing game ever made, but hell, I felt this game was made with (some) love and care by the developer. Something that Forza Motorsport didn't show.
@@zacariascisneros6399 that's unfortunate, my first motorsport was 7 and that wasn't as bad as this. The handling was hard but at least it had a campaign. If you felt forza horizon 4 was made with love you should definitely play Forza horizon 2. In my eyes horizon 2 was the best. I still love everything about it. The setting , the music , races , car selection. I think it was perfect . It was my first forza game , yes I have to admit I didn't buy Xbox one to play forza , I bought it for quantum break but the delivery got delayed and forza horizon 2 arrived first. But I ended up playing horizon 2 non stop. Driveclub released the same time, I tried that first. Underrated game but driveclub was severely flawed. The tracks had invisible walls, handling was difficult and most cars were un drivable. But the effects it had for rain and environments are still unmatched. Reviewers praised rain effects in fm 2024 but no way better than driveclub.
What makes this worst is that there's still out there so many good racing games that people don't pay much attention to or are to harsh on them. Hot Wheels Unleashed, Xenon Racer, Gravel, Motorfest... yet the games that people play and focus on is Forza, which is apparently the one that defines the racing ame industry. People complain about modern racing games with "lack of innovation" yet no one supports innovating racing games until is way too late
Beamng drive is heavily slept out on by casual Forza players. I know it is an simulator testing the crash body physics, but you can do a lot more rather than crashing

I wanted Forza to come back with Motorsport. I was so excited, hearing about the "built from the ground up" nature, incredible graphics and the new upgrade systems seemed interesting. Knowing the game had so much development time since 7 and Microsoft were building it up to be the future of racing on Xbox, I was confident that FM could deliver. When I played for the first time I was amazed. I could not believe that 6 years of development led to what I was playing. The game crashed about every 30-45 mins and my first online race consisted of my camera never switching from the cinematic camera and watching myself fly off the first corner from a distance while I couldn't steer my car. It was a really confidence inspiring start to my online safety rating. So I went to AI racing. In my first race I saw AI fly off the first corner, refusing to even touch the brakes, brake-test me on straights and either refuse to pass me or ram me off the road. I gave up. I was disappointed so I went to Forzavista to look at the new models of the cars I was given to only see that almost every feature of Vista had been removed or simplified. I understood the missing features as "built from the ground up" and they didn't have time, but then I started to see the reused content. Goodbye Forza, I'm done. It sucks you peaked 12 years ago.
I know for a fact that I made the Hall of Fame in FH5. You'd think that would be a very memorable event. But for the life of me I can't remember when and how I achieved it. Thank you. You have summarised my problem with the Hot Wheels expansion perfectly. Realistic doesn't automatically mean believable. Hot Wheels in FH3 felt alive. For the reasons you mentioned. FH5, on the other hand, feels very lifeless.
Its not that motorfest didnt have its own share of big problems. Beginning with the always online architecture, the fact that effectively you are not buying your game but just renting, as it will become unavailable to play after a time, just as we have seen with the first Crew. Handling is not as good as in Forza (though in some places like off-road, cars do behave a little bit more believable). Oh and it also builds much of its content on FOMO. So yeah, its not better than Forza imo.
@@horvathr95 I have to agree that I hate the idea of this being a live service and online only game. My first impression of the game was really bad. The servers were under maintenance for 2 hours. The exact time at which I bought , installed and tried to run the game. I really don't buy anything that has to be online ( another reason I pirate games , if buying doesn't give you a better experience I don't see anything wrong with pirating. If I pay for a game I should be allowed to access it irrespective of my internet connection, no questions asked ). This game had positive reviews and it was 12 to 14 dollars on epic store. At that price I think the purchase was justified. The handling isn't as diverse as a forza game agreed but the vehicle selection and playlist variety were really a breath of fresh air. I'm not saying it doesn't have its problems. I still hate that we cannot change the time of the day in this game. Opponent AI don't even seem to be aware of adjacent cars. But all in all it took me 45 hours to complete all playlists and I really enjoyed the 45 hours. At this point I would say I had my moneys worth. I still don't support that this has to be always online to just play the single player mode. They should offer an offline mode for this.
@@horvathr95The FOMO element in Motorfest isn't that bad really. All the new cars added to the game are available for purchase, the only ones that can't be bought are special edition cars and vanity stuffs that don't really matter. Unlike Horizon 5 that gates half of their roster behind dull weekly chores. And I don't think anyone here is deluding themselves that Motorfest is better than Forza, it's just that there are elements that are much more enjoyable for people who are tired of Forza.
The fact that Forza Motorsport won the GOTY award for racing games despite debatably a shovelware still to this day is utterly laughable. It goes to show you how incompetent Turn 10 really is since FM5. Over a decade ago at this point.
Yup, as much as I disliked Motorfest due to its Presentation being something of a Sensory overload, even I can tell that it was the *actual* Racing Game of the Year! The Game-Awards were a Fix! "Fixed from the Ground Up!"
I don't normally bother commenting ever, but on the note of Forza Motorsport, I had spent quite a bit of time building up a miata so that I could turn it into a drift car. I got the widebody, I got the drift suspension, I built it up to where I was finally happy with it, and on my first proper drift around V.I.R. I decided to stop and do a photoshoot, and while in the middle of getting a good angle for the photo I wanted to take I realized that my cars wheel... wasn't attached to anything. There was no wheel hub, no tire rods, no axle, no steering linkage, nothing. There was only the wheel, the brake rotor, and brake caliper. That's it. Before that moment of realization I had never thought to myself "I'm glad I tried this on gamepass instead of buying it outright". The fact that I thought that of a Forza game has seriously disillusioned me on this game and any future forza endeavors. I haven't touched the game since and I'm not sure if I'll ever return to it. My first Forza game was Forza Motorsport 4 and it instantly became my favorite racing game I'd ever played and to this day that still holds true. I hate seeing this game series come to this level of mediocrity.
I'm not really a fan of the Gamepass. But it saved me a lot of money last year in particular. I only use it to test games from time to time. That's the best thing you can do since there are hardly any demos anymore. And if I like a game, I buy it.
with FH5's map as someone who doesn't have FH5 and only sees it through videos, all my mind keeps thinking is "I swear this part of the map looks like a near perfect copy of FH4's map with only slight edits."
This was pretty therapeutic for someone who probably poured 3k+ hours between Horizon 1-3. I had also played Motorsport since FM2. I finally got FM8 and FH5 in October. Granted, FM8 was what really killed my love for the franchise, but FH5’s complete lack of character was very apparent. Ik people have a soft-spot for FH1, but I personally believe that FH2 had the greatest combo of gameplay, map, freedom, graphics, and soundtrack. Doesn’t matter now tho, these games were so half-cooked that I literally bought a PS5 just to play GT7 and never have to play Forza again lmao. Have had more fun than I’ve had in Forza in years. Don’t let them continue to abuse you, talk with your wallet.
I started with Forza Motorsport 6 apex/Horizon 3 on my PC back in 2016 and put over 300 hours in combine with both games and I had a blast with them! But as the years went on with newer Forza titles I noticed there was a downgrade trend of getting everything by just breathing and a single player campaign that had no thrill at all and there was no reason to do them outside of just a completion. That killed all my interests what I have with the new Forza games because there is no challenge at all or to be better at the game for earning the things you so desire. Also the sense of speed is fucking trash in FH5/FM8, playing FM4/FH1 on the 360 and going over 320km/h really was scary and fucking amazing how fast you are going!

The Team are Happy (while they were clearly burned out and demoralised under Brown) once again, many of the new Faces *clearly* know what they are doing as Developers, Torben is clearly an actual Gamer, not a Corporate Suit like Brown (and Esaki..), and has proven himself to a good safe pair of Hands for Horizon, it feels like a Passion Project again, if one still *very* Held back by Several Mike Brown Era Issues such as the use of FOMO (which I hope is Scrapped for FH6 in exchange for a full Return to Paid DLC for New to Forza Cars and Straight to Autoshow for Returning Cars, as some of the Latest Updates do hint to a Possible return to that Model) and the Awful main map (however, Rally Adventure shows much more commitment to great Driving and Racing Experience that I hope is used to Guide FH6) , it has improved Tremendously However, Agreed!
Incredible video, even though I'm new to the Horizon series being a PC player that started with 3 on gamepass (4 wasn't actually the first there), I still feel the lack of a campaign and any meaningful objective hurts 4 and 5 for me, yeah in 3 you also had a nothing character at least you had the objective of building the festival being it's director and all.
The best criticism of the Forza series and I’ll be honest I was lead to believe the new Motorsport was gonna be next level and not just an fm7 2.0 and I pushed my Xbox friends to be excited as well only to be absolutely slapped in the face
Also the fun part about the festival playlist is that a lot of times the meaning gets lost in translation so that you don´t have any chance to get the photo challenge or especially the treasure hunt on your own. Additionally I have to look up every time what a road race and so on is.
Watched the stand alone videos multiple times before, and I'm probably gonna do the same with this. Loooove good detailed long formed content. I'll take as many of long form videos as you got!
What’s really funny is that the crew motorfest had a way better donut media update I think they absolutely slapped playground games in the face for the insult they made in horizion 5
I love the forza games, but there was something off about FH5. I couldnt explaine it into words. After watching this video I realized that deep down I tryed to love this game as much as the previous ones. But it turns out it doesnt stand close to the other FH games. And that brought a tear to my eye.

Problem is, this game is absolutely NOT the work of 6 years, they 100% lied to our faces. There's no passion. Outside of the glitches, it looks and feels last gen, missing features, tracks and cars, boring career mode, terrible car sounds, poor customisation and UI/interface and they're already recycling cars that were drivable before and its barely few months in. Not built from the ground up.

The Forza Horizon series in its current form is a perfect demonstration of trying to appeal to everyone while appealing to no one. It's trying to be a racing game, but everyone's a winner! It's trying to be a sandbox, yet it's just an empty pit. It's trying to be a life simulator/RPG without effectively immersing the player into the open world. There's no plot, there's no purpose to houses, there's no incentive to progress when they toss you a hyper car at level one. Give me my VW Corrado and let me work my way up to an Apollo IE ffs. There's no incentive to do...ANYTHING. And it's really disappointing, because at one point, it was hard to hate anything Turn10/Playground Games released. Now, I avoid them like the plague. They've essentially morphed into another EA.
Millions of people play forza for their own personal reasons. Mine is I am ADDICTED to tuning the cars in the game and competing against other players online. I really love cars and driving and going fast! I love this game! Everything about it as far as the driving experience, the exploration, the tuning…keeps me playing this game. I’ve been learning how to tune for over 3 years now and the reward was worth the challenge. Also driving manual with clutch is the icing on the cake 👍
Fr, I'd like FH5 to give us simple DLC with Soccer event where we push, hit, ram into bigass ball to score goal. Like Rocket LEague but toned, bit more realistic. It would be fun and the stadium would be useful.

@simeonyves5940 it does give me hope though, now that Mike is gone, and that they realized how horrible of a decision it was to focus on a battle royal game with cars, hopefully focusing on... I don't know, maybe the CARS aspect of a CAR game, especially at designing the map
@@murderergod6645 Given that they have clearly (and thankfully) very probably Scrapped the "Duoliminator" Update, and the Eliminator itself is now only in Playlist once a Month rather than in all Four Weeks, I think the Team (who clearly were not Happy working for Brown, look at the Early Streams! they are clearly, and Tragically, utterly Demoralized and thoroughly burned out.. Look how much Happier they are in the Latest Streams compared now they have a decent Boss! ) have well and truly realized that Brown was Unsuited for team leader and that focusing on Eliminator to such a Point the rest of the Game (Roads, Races, Festival) all feel like they were tacked on right at the end when someone with half a Brain at Microsoft Realized that all the things that make a Horizon Game a Horizon Game were Missing, was a Gross Error and then some! Indeed, FH6 needs to look a lot more towards Motorfest (as much as I personally dislike Motorfest) in some ways, such as the Clear and Open love for *Cars* , and designing the Map around the Cars by building the Roads in a Vertical, Challenging Environment to Force the use of the Roads, and Designing the Road Layout to not only be Logical and Built around Providing good Course Layouts (like FH1-4's Layouts, and Motorfests) but also with Roads clearly designed to Complement various Car Types, Wide Open Highways for Hypercars, Fast Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT Cars, Flowing, but Tight and Challenging, Rural Back Roads for Classics and Sports Cars, Urban Runs in Both a Modern City, and Pretty, Old, little Towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Roads that look like a Piece of Dropped Spaghetti for Japanese Drift Masters, etc. Etc. Indeed, Cars *First* , Fripperies later.. And No Eliminator at all! They also need to return to Europe, we need a Stunning, Gorgeous, Vibrant, Alive, and Modern Setting again as a Palette Cleanser from Mexico, and its Dry, Dead, Rusty, Filthy Dirty, Ancient, Abandoned, "Post Dalek Invasion of 1964" , Depressing Nonsense!
Forza Motorsport - the pinnacle of track racing? Rfactor came out 4 months after FM1, has up to 104 cars at a track at the same time (GT1-4 had 6, FM1-3 8?, FM4 12/16), race weekend (practice->qualifying->race), configurable single race mode (Forza did get that in Xone era - "freeplay"), timed races, 24hr day/night cycle, multi-class races, huge modding scene (it's the Assetto Corsa of it's time). However it doesn't have much base content, no career mode and zero "presentation". 5 years later with MS money FM4 didn't have any of that, the "best of the series". As for FH5, it's a solid "casual" racer, that's why many people like it. I don't get why it being a sandbox with no/little restrictions is such a bad thing, it's a positive thing IMO - you got a meme hyper(?)car and you don't have to use it in the first race or at all but players that want that can use it. It's not a sim, it has some unrealistic things (like the Senna on slicks off tarmac) but that's fine IMO.
This is what happens when fans continue to put blind faith on a dev that had the audacity to locked the LFA as an Ultimate Collection exclusive in Forza 4, betraying all those who purchased every single DLC or season pass for the vanilla version. And don't even make me talk about the atrocity that is Forza 5. Turn 10 will keep feeding you shit because, well, since you're still offering them your money unconditionally, looks like you don't mind at all. Don't ever complain again about them taking advantage of your nostalgia. Fans, stop convincing yourself that the shitty game you played is good. If you truly care about this series, point out its flaws, make your voice loud and clear to the dev and everyone on the same boat as you, and don't open your wallet if they don't listen. If a series just folded because you do that, then good riddance, they don't deserve to live this long to begin with.
As a massive fan of forza, and a Hispanic kid, the trailer to this game honestly made me the most excited i had ever been for a game as well as for cod mw 2 (also set in Mexico), such a shame the state that they ended up in with us gamers ://
One of my biggest problems with Horizon 5 is that while doing the Festival playlist it rains a disproportionate amount of times which also takes away from the different seasons, not that they were very noticeable to begin with.
FH3 was my first since that time this franchise made it's jump onto PC. I had a blast, played for month, was excited when FH4 was announced, loved the idea of scotlands landscapes. Aaaaaand i quit after two hours since i was bored, nothing felt meaningful. Tried it a couple of times but it did not click at all with me. FH5.. it's new and shiny so in a sale i went for it. Guess what, i'm bored and quit after 5 hours. Nothing feels important, tons of events each one meaningless, random progression and nothing felt engaging to me. I'll steer clear of future entries. Love long content btw, keep at it.
Great timing to release the video in the month that Horizon 5 is pretty much unplayable as it´s all expensive as hell cars that I can´t all afford despite actively playing since launch. I still somehow still have fun playing this game, doing the festival playlist with my gf every week (except from this month) but that´s less for the game and more for the social aspect. I don´t even have any desire to touch Motorsport because it just plainly sucks, especially the car list. Thx for this great video!
I don’t think I’ve done that forzathon challenge. Last week or maybe this week you need like a 5 million dollar car. I’m not spending 5 million on a car for 2 cars in the playlist that I already have in fh4 and know damn well haven’t been changed whatsoever. I feel like the playlist got worse. Fh4 you usually just needed a certain type of car, like muscle, or sports cars or classics which could be had for cheap.
I will keep an eye on TDU from a distance for now. The whole live service/ always online stuff in connection with the fact that it will probably only be multiplayer has really dampened my excitement.
first off, top--notch work into exploring how lacklustre and disappointing work that we consumers and racing game fans have received. The original Horizon is what got me into this franchise and it's always going to be one of the most phenomenal games I had got my hands on and ever since then was one whirlwind of joy after each entry until it got to 4,5 and Motorsport. seeing these games downgrade both in progression and gameplay as they take choices that're either not wanted by players or confusing to even include in the first place ! Microsoft's Xbox Gamepass has just been ruining any or all hope to their studios wanting to succeed if every game they make is added to the pass and can be quickly dropped if people don't like what comes from that product, Forza included into the roster alongside Halo, Starfield, Redfall and any other recent titles that've fallen from grace compared to whatever talent they provided in older titles. I want to continue playing Forza and always will, but not in the state it is being put in.
I loved the physics, i loved tuning my own cars. I love open world type racing games. I can never get all three unless its forza. I hate how short the races are, i hate how skill checks are required for story missions, i hate that the unbeatable AI resort to bumping you out of lines, i hate how limited we are on choices for car designs like bumpers and aero. I love this game for the best of its strengths, i hate how it is for how lacking the executions are.

Torben Ellert has really turned FH5 around since he took over, it still has a Lot of issues due to having such a weak basis "thanks" to the utter Incompetence of Mike Brown, and Microsofts insistence on using FOMO to push Gamepass :(, but Torben has pulled a Blinder in taking a clearly Demoralised and Burnt Out Team, getting them back on their Feet, and turning the Game around from absolute Train Wreck, to a pretty good Game! It does feel like Horizon is in safe hands again (Maybe because he is, in being a "Gallifreyan Timelord pretending to be a 1970s English Bohemian" Level (Yes, Tom Baker Shoutout) "odd" clearly an actual Gamer, while Mike Brown, with his fake Vegas Smile and constant Litany of Buzzwords, Marketing Spiel and Flavour Text, was, like Chris Esaki, clearly a Corporate Suit pining for its Chair in the Boardroom!) now, so I have a little hope for FH6! So long as Torben had the good Sense to *Scrap* Browns Inevitable "FH4.7- Forknife with Cars 2, Politikal Elektrik Boogaloo- FOMO to the Max Edition!" "vision" for FH6 and start again from Scratch with something more in line with FH2/3 (a Return to 1 becoming Impossible when MS mandated a PEGI 3/ESRB E Rating for all Future Forza Games in 2019) , FH6 could, Possibly, be a Return to form! What I will say is, as much as I Disliked Motorfest (the Glitchwave stuff and the constant colour Bombardment, it was too much Sensory Overload for me (being on the Spectrum is not fun! believe me!) , and I did not like, at all, all the Unnecessary Profanity and Blasphemy in the Dialogue, hey, it upsets me, I do not hide my Faith (Reformed Christian), and it is so Disappointing as Motorfest could, and should, have been a 3/E, all Ubisoft had to do was Reign Ivory Tower in a Bit!) I do hope that FH6 copies what Motorfest did get oh so Right! The Festival! Enormous main Festival Site that you can see from miles away, all Races Marked with Massive Balloons that dot the Sky, DJ Booths at all Startlines like FH1, Billboards, Titantrons, Graffiti , the Festivals Presence all over the Place in the Open World, You know make the Festival a *Character in its own right* like Motorfest did, not clearly just tacked on at the last Second as Legacy Feature like in FH5!. Copy the Map Design too, Built around the Racing and Driving Experiences, with Different Roads aimed at Different Types of Cars (Big Highways for Hypercars, Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT's, Urban Runs in both Modern Cities and Small, old, Pretty towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Passes for Japanese Drift Masters, etc etc) so the map feels alive, real, and built for Racing, not Forknife with Cars! As well as those *epic* Car sounds! Wooo, even the *EV's* sound good in that Game! I just hope, however, that they use a Graphics Engine that actually *works* , even if it means holding the Game back here and there by using the Current FH2-5 Engine again!

In my eyes, the foundation that Mike Brown had built was simply unsalvageable. Starting with the barren wasteland of a map, the weak single player/story, progression, economy etc... I will definitely not be pre-ordering Horizon 6 again. I'll wait for real gameplay videos that don't gloss over anything. I no longer trust the games magazines when it comes to Horizon, because they have portrayed Horizon 5 as the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Without exception...
The problem with racing games or other games aswell, is that in the last 10 to 15 years the player freedom and enjoyment of playing games, has slowly died, today there are nothing left. When i think of Forza, i think about a fun racing game, where i could have fun, putting a V12 in a Fiat 500 and just have fun racing and playing, a creative freedom makes a lot of fun. The last fun Forza games was Forza Motorsport 3 (FM4 was like 3, just with more of those same races) and for Forza Horizon, it was FH2, after that player enjoyment and creativ freedom was slowly removed for every release, just like the motorsport series. But for all games, when the love for money get bigger than the love for the game, nothing can save it. Just pick any racing game in the last 15 years that was fun and you felt the freedom you had before? or any game for that matter :-D

Forza is at a point now where even new content doesn't hit the same. When they released the "new" 2022 Subaru BRZ, I was like, "Cool a half-assed new car that's just a reskin of the Toyota 86." I started playing FH4 because there was usually something that felt new and innovative. It's only been 5 years that I've played, and all that magic and awe that FH4 invoked is no more. I'm stuck in a sea of mediocrity. The only reason I play this game is because I want to love it. And it's a little bit better than NFS Unbound
Surely there are still people out there who say Horizon 5 is their favorite and the best Forza game if you can believe that. Not to mention all the high praise the game got upon release.
Hey! Nice video. Just because to the arrival of the 430 Scuderia to Forza Motorsport, I decided to play the game again. And my thoughts are almost the same as they were months ago: "aside from driving, the game is bad from its core" Just asking: this game has been mentioned a lot on your recent videos..are you planning on make a video focused on Gran Turismo 6? Personally, I never had so much fun on a GT game aside from GT2 (Yes, I liked GT6 more than GT4), but I always see too much shit thrown to that game. And it would be interesting to know your opinion, and how it compares to its previous entry, Gran Turismo 5.
The only silver lining for each track about the three tracks they just released (Daytona will be released on 16th) is they're free. At least put in a brand new never before been in Forza. I've seen the short version of this video and still get upset how this game received GOTY.

FH3 is the peak of street racing games[exl MW05 oc]. The only thing keeping me playing Horizon is the fact that the handling model on modern NFS games is absolute trash. The hotwheels dlc is the one I spent the most time playing. That DLC in FH5 just didnt hit the same. I consider the nerfing of the physics for the first horizons as opposed to exporting forza 4 style handling as they claimed as one of the largest disappointments ever in racing game history.
I completely gave up on the whole Forza franchise after Forza Horizon 5. The final nail in the coffin was when they started with the paid car packs in FH5. Buying FH5 was one of the greatest mistakes I have ever made, but it was also a great lesson. Of course, I still have hope that they can completely turn around this franchise, but at this point, I don't really care.

Watching this video, I can’t help but ask….. “…..And!?” I have been playing this series since FM2, I have played every Forza Horizon game since the beginning, and I have played through bugs, glitches, crashes and bullshit. I am not going to stop now and certainly not because of someone pointing out negative after negative. If FH5 and FM8 were to be made to end-of-life content and feature levels from day one, A) The game wouldn’t be out for at least 5yrs later than the initial release date and B) There would be no reason to continue playing after achieving 100% completion. The number one thing a game developer wants is for the player base to continue playing the games they worked long and hard on and gave up so much of their lives for and giving us everything they were planning on giving us all at once is silly, complicated and more importantly, counterintuitive to the point of a game developer’s sacrifices. If this one person is so critical of FH5/FM8, it’s not going to stop me from playing.

@@serperior2264 I would if this was constructive criticism, but if you listen to what’s being said, it sounds as if they’re picking on the most minute details and proclaiming them as evidence that FH5 is where innovation (amongst other things) goes to die (and in a borderline creepily-cheerful voice, too, might I add) and FM8 is totally unsalvageable to the point of actually calling for a mercy killing. They are looking at these two games with a far more critical lens than I’m used to seeing something I like being looked at, I will admit. I do see your point about constructive criticism, but the people reading the script for this sound a bit mean. You hear how they point out the car models? Does it matter if they put the Terradyne Gurkha model from FH2 into FH5? Not to me, because I like the Gurkha. I wouldn’t care if it was the model used in FH2, FH3, FH4 or FM6, for goodness sakes. All that matters to me is “BOOM! Gurkha, FH5, let’s go!” Using older car models is OK with me, it’s not lazy, it’s smart and resourceful. Making brand new models for every new game would be like me making new MLP:FiM vinyls for every car I want to put a particular character on. There’d be more mistakes and inconsistencies if Turn10 and Playground Games had to do all the car models over and over again for each new game. I certainly don’t want that, and I’m sure you don’t, either. Are the two games in question perfect? No way! FH5 crashes unless I have the screen narrator turned on and I don’t look up anything in the Auction House. FM8 has no thumbnails for 95% of my imported vinyl groups and the penalty system gets on my nerves a bit. But I deal with it, why? Because I like cars and I like racing, driving, decorating and upgrading them. I enjoy the game the way I want and it seems as if these people are just being too mean.
I played 5 for long enough to see that the only car i wanted (NSX-R) was locked behind the auction system. Luckilly i only had the £1 gamepass demo so in the few hours that it took me to unlock the colossus and beat it with a few different cars I didn't feel cheated. Nothing i've seen since then in relation to DLC or content updates has made me want to try it again. Joining an online race is a lottery as to the type of race you want, it takes an age for the race to start or end back to the menu, sometimes dropping you in halfway through a series. It's a boring, frustrating game that somehow doesn't appeal to casual players or people wanting to spend hours tuning and testing cars. Judging how the latest motorsport was handled I'm not even going to try the "next" horizion.
Honestly I've been playing games for over 35 years now. Horizon 5 is an absolute banger. Cars have almost never felt better to drive on ANY arcade racing game ever invented IMHO. There is a pretty fair amount of content, and the car list is pretty damn immaculate, with more being added STILL every single week. Is the dialog cringe AF? Hell yea. Is Forza aero dogshit? Yep. Does the WHOLE of the game more than make up for it's faults. IMHO; abso fucking lutely.
What bothers me a lot is that Forza 1-4 are not backward compatible. They say it's because of licensing but that seems like a lazt answer. They already paid license for the same game. I think they were just shit scared gamers would play them and less the souless new iterations of the franchisee. True the OG Xbox had some rare gems like Dreamfall.
Another youtuber called Roflwaffle did a everything wrong with Gran Turismo 7 and the whole GT franchise and goes into details like you did. Really sad how both GT and Forza are going downhill and shows nothing of improvements. I was actually looking forward for FM 2023 since GT7 campaign and grinding early on the games life was really disappointing. But after seen reviews and how the game is going, I changed my mind. I did played FH5 and while I did enjoyed it, I quickly found the flaws and how game lacked life compare to FH1 and FH2. FM 2023 will improve thru 2024 like how GT7 did thru 2023 since is now a good game, I'm tired of game launching with so little content or broken and then later fixing and adding stuff that should have been on the first place and acting they have been listing to us. I gave up on FH5 after 21 hours played, I had like 100 cars but bought only 7. Most of the money I had were from the WheelSpins, It didn't feel like a Forza Horizon game. Gave up on FH4 after 32 hours... I wish they would sell the first 3 games on steam, those I know I would love....but the last 2 games...feel forced, they don't feel right...
That's how I feel playing the new Forza games as there is no challenge at all when earning money and getting the cars what you want at all... There was no point playing the game better if I can get an Agera R in less than an hour of gameplay. Playing FH1 last year due to how fed up with the modern Forza games really shows how the developers give fuck all to single player content and a purpose to do so. Being handed free wins isn't fun, it's boring.
For me, Forza peaked with Motorsport 4. After that they ruined the franchise with excessive microtransactions and DLC. The one that pissed me off the most was when FM5 made the Vauxhall Astra, Top Gear's reasonably priced car that year, paid DLC. 😡
Crew Motofest is genuinely a better game than FH5 but then again because of the stupid ubisoft policy you literally can't play the game after 10 years that you payed for it.

We have reached a point where new maps, tracks or even newer cars or customisation won't bring back the excitement behind a great racing game anymore. They have to tread into the never done before to make racing games great again. By that I mean damage models , crashes , sense of speed ( speed thrills , but the sense of thrill is no where to be seen in newer racing games unless you driving the fastest car of the game ). Burnout 3 still feels awesome to play. It has fewer cars than I remember it to be having, a shorter campaign and yet it feels amazing. It's 20 years old now! Nfs most wanted had the thrill of you getting caught ( lose all bounty points ) if you did something wrong. Remove the rewind button first and a race feels thrilling. Or limit it like grid legends. Grid 2008 was an amazing game because you were on the edge of your seat thinking whether your teammate would make it and get points for your team. Also damage and totalling your car mattered. Forza motorsport 2023 is the most boring campaign I have ever played in a racing game. Nothing feels good except for the cars on the controller. The graphics aren't mind blowing either. It wasn't a polished experience either. None of the things that worked great for forza arent here anymore. Download tune for your un drivable car to make it drivable ? You can't. You have to drive it till you reach level 50 before you have enough points to buy the upgrades ! Livery can only be changed from the cars tab in main menu and there isn't even a preview button ! Cars are overpriced and event variety is totally non existent. Race or practice that's it!!!
For me, it's still amazing that there is people defending this game.
It's one thing if that person likes it, there's nothing wrong with that. But even if that person likes it, he/she should realize the things wrong with this game.
But I refer to the people arguing that this is without any doubt, the best racing game of 2023.
I remember that Grid Autosport's campaign was also boring and repetitive as well. However, at least Autosport have different disciplines and you can finish them however you want.
And the races in Autosport are full race sessions: Practice, QUALIFYING and the Race.
And to be completely honest, it felt immersive.
Something that the "built from the ground up" game, 9 years after the release of Grid Autosport, couldn't match in the slightest.
And that's an issue, Forza Motorsport is a 7th gen game, promoted and selled as an 9th gen game
@@zacariascisneros6399 exactly. Grid autosport was also the only grid game I couldn't get myself to finish it despite owning it on multiple platforms. IMO as far as the grid series goes, grid 2008 was the best grid. Grid legends was surprisingly good. ( 2 campaigns , and campaign 1 was a blast , while 2 being grindy... all in all the second best grid for me , damage system is still bad though). Grid 2 was way too short and removed a lot of good things about grid while grid reboot was like the worst. The damage system was thrown out campaign was lacklustre. Grid autosport was fine I just felt the handling was a bit off for a grid game.
Forza motorsport 2023 is no way built from the ground up. At max settings I see textures popping up and a lot of low resolution objects. The grass is bad ? I don't know it just doesn't look good. At launch the performance was terrible. I play on a 4070 and it was a new pc for me and I was baffled that I couldn't get this game to run on a solid 60fps ( this rig is way better and 2 generations newer than Xbox series x ! ). The graphical settings to this day are a mess. The car view mode for some of the cars look really bad. Lamborghini sesto elemento interior was like something from a ps3 game. I don't know how this got into a 2023 game. It took me 70 hours something to complete the entire campaign but it felt like I drove for 40 hours unnecessarily. It's because of the practice 3 laps before the race. Race followed by race was really refreshing after this ( can only be played on free play mode ). Coming from grid legends this was just a snooze test. That game had multi class races , elimination races , electric cars with boost events, drift events , touge races downhill, trucks and a lot more. Also fm 2023 doesnt even award you with cars ! Finish 5 or 6 championships in a series and you get one car. To play those you have to initially buy a car from that series and my god what a grind it was. I booted up fm for this week's championship series and found out I needed 300k to buy the car to compete. Well at this point , NO . I just deleted the game. I was seriously looking forward to this title since I don't want to buy a ps5 to try gt7. 3 Months since launch and it went stale. Another serious issue is fm getting awards. Seriously the crew motorfest is the best racing game of 2023 even though it's arcade. Hotwheels unleashed 2 is also a good game. Fm 2023 doesnt deserve any awards. The only thing it does right is the controller support and feel for a simcade racer.
For me, the best racing games are Driver San Francisco, TDU2, NFS MW 2005, Forza Horizon 3, and Midnight Club LA. GT4 and Forza M 4 seems to be amazing as well, but I never played them. There are a bunch more excellent games that I am not aware of. And those games came out about a decade ago. All these games are unique and do what they have to do extremely well. I wonder why there arent more of these games today. I wish I could play these games on new hardware. A remaster would be nice. Slightly better textures, maybe improve the AI and add a couple new cars, and re-launch them.

And I know that in terms of power, the Series S is the weakest Xbox Series console.
However, I played different games, and almost every game I've played looked better than Motorsport (Especially Forza Horizon 4, which was released almost 6 years ago on the Xbox One).
And even if it's the version with the fastest loading times, it still feels freaking long for a 9th gen only game.

I've played different games that came before Motorsport, and of almost every game I can say something that ONLY that game has (even if I liked it or not).
But Forza Motorsport, has nothing that can make it unique, not even its good things:
Driving? Yes, it's good. But I also played sims, arcade racers and simcades that also drive great or better (RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo 6, Burnout Paradise, etc)
Cars selection? Yes, it's good. But Gran Turismo 6 had almost 1300 cars, and to an extent, were up to the date of the game's release. Even Forza Horizon 4 has more cars and a better selection than Motorsport '23
Menu music? at best, it's decent. But it's far from something that a Gran Turismo or even Shift 2 Unleashed can offer you.

Probably the GT fans have this game as the worst in the franchise (I highly disagree), but Gran Turismo 6 (even with all its flaws) in the PS3 gave me more fun and content than the "from the ground up" Forza Motorsport.
And what was even worse, is that Motorsport'23 was my actual introduction to the Forza franchise, and I was disappointed.
But I just thought "it's impossible every Forza game is as bad and soulless as Motorsport.". Then I played Horizon 4.
Horizon 4 may not be the best racing game ever made, but hell, I felt this game was made with (some) love and care by the developer.

@@zacariascisneros6399 that's unfortunate, my first motorsport was 7 and that wasn't as bad as this. The handling was hard but at least it had a campaign. If you felt forza horizon 4 was made with love you should definitely play Forza horizon 2. In my eyes horizon 2 was the best. I still love everything about it. The setting , the music , races , car selection. I think it was perfect . It was my first forza game , yes I have to admit I didn't buy Xbox one to play forza , I bought it for quantum break but the delivery got delayed and forza horizon 2 arrived first. But I ended up playing horizon 2 non stop. Driveclub released the same time, I tried that first. Underrated game but driveclub was severely flawed. The tracks had invisible walls, handling was difficult and most cars were un drivable. But the effects it had for rain and environments are still unmatched. Reviewers praised rain effects in fm 2024 but no way better than driveclub.
What makes this worst is that there's still out there so many good racing games that people don't pay much attention to or are to harsh on them. Hot Wheels Unleashed, Xenon Racer, Gravel, Motorfest... yet the games that people play and focus on is Forza, which is apparently the one that defines the racing ame industry.
People complain about modern racing games with "lack of innovation" yet no one supports innovating racing games until is way too late

Beamng drive is heavily slept out on by casual Forza players. I know it is an simulator testing the crash body physics, but you can do a lot more rather than crashing

I wanted Forza to come back with Motorsport. I was so excited, hearing about the "built from the ground up" nature, incredible graphics and the new upgrade systems seemed interesting. Knowing the game had so much development time since 7 and Microsoft were building it up to be the future of racing on Xbox, I was confident that FM could deliver.
When I played for the first time I was amazed. I could not believe that 6 years of development led to what I was playing. The game crashed about every 30-45 mins and my first online race consisted of my camera never switching from the cinematic camera and watching myself fly off the first corner from a distance while I couldn't steer my car. It was a really confidence inspiring start to my online safety rating.
So I went to AI racing. In my first race I saw AI fly off the first corner, refusing to even touch the brakes, brake-test me on straights and either refuse to pass me or ram me off the road. I gave up.
I was disappointed so I went to Forzavista to look at the new models of the cars I was given to only see that almost every feature of Vista had been removed or simplified.
I understood the missing features as "built from the ground up" and they didn't have time, but then I started to see the reused content.
Goodbye Forza, I'm done. It sucks you peaked 12 years ago.
I jumped off Forza during FM7, but I'm glad Gran Turismo 7 is doing great now.
Though I do admit Forza Motorsport's online racing is up there

Its not that motorfest didnt have its own share of big problems. Beginning with the always online architecture, the fact that effectively you are not buying your game but just renting, as it will become unavailable to play after a time, just as we have seen with the first Crew. Handling is not as good as in Forza (though in some places like off-road, cars do behave a little bit more believable). Oh and it also builds much of its content on FOMO. So yeah, its not better than Forza imo.
@@horvathr95 I have to agree that I hate the idea of this being a live service and online only game. My first impression of the game was really bad. The servers were under maintenance for 2 hours. The exact time at which I bought , installed and tried to run the game. I really don't buy anything that has to be online ( another reason I pirate games , if buying doesn't give you a better experience I don't see anything wrong with pirating. If I pay for a game I should be allowed to access it irrespective of my internet connection, no questions asked ). This game had positive reviews and it was 12 to 14 dollars on epic store. At that price I think the purchase was justified. The handling isn't as diverse as a forza game agreed but the vehicle selection and playlist variety were really a breath of fresh air. I'm not saying it doesn't have its problems. I still hate that we cannot change the time of the day in this game. Opponent AI don't even seem to be aware of adjacent cars. But all in all it took me 45 hours to complete all playlists and I really enjoyed the 45 hours. At this point I would say I had my moneys worth. I still don't support that this has to be always online to just play the single player mode. They should offer an offline mode for this.

All the new cars added to the game are available for purchase, the only ones that can't be bought are special edition cars and vanity stuffs that don't really matter. Unlike Horizon 5 that gates half of their roster behind dull weekly chores.
And I don't think anyone here is deluding themselves that Motorfest is better than Forza, it's just that there are elements that are much more enjoyable for people who are tired of Forza.

I don't normally bother commenting ever, but on the note of Forza Motorsport, I had spent quite a bit of time building up a miata so that I could turn it into a drift car. I got the widebody, I got the drift suspension, I built it up to where I was finally happy with it, and on my first proper drift around V.I.R. I decided to stop and do a photoshoot, and while in the middle of getting a good angle for the photo I wanted to take I realized that my cars wheel... wasn't attached to anything. There was no wheel hub, no tire rods, no axle, no steering linkage, nothing. There was only the wheel, the brake rotor, and brake caliper. That's it. Before that moment of realization I had never thought to myself "I'm glad I tried this on gamepass instead of buying it outright". The fact that I thought that of a Forza game has seriously disillusioned me on this game and any future forza endeavors. I haven't touched the game since and I'm not sure if I'll ever return to it. My first Forza game was Forza Motorsport 4 and it instantly became my favorite racing game I'd ever played and to this day that still holds true. I hate seeing this game series come to this level of mediocrity.
I'm not really a fan of the Gamepass. But it saved me a lot of money last year in particular. I only use it to test games from time to time. That's the best thing you can do since there are hardly any demos anymore. And if I like a game, I buy it.

as someone who doesn't have FH5 and only sees it through videos, all my mind keeps thinking is "I swear this part of the map looks like a near perfect copy of FH4's map with only slight edits."

This was pretty therapeutic for someone who probably poured 3k+ hours between Horizon 1-3. I had also played Motorsport since FM2.
I finally got FM8 and FH5 in October. Granted, FM8 was what really killed my love for the franchise, but FH5’s complete lack of character was very apparent. Ik people have a soft-spot for FH1, but I personally believe that FH2 had the greatest combo of gameplay, map, freedom, graphics, and soundtrack.
Doesn’t matter now tho, these games were so half-cooked that I literally bought a PS5 just to play GT7 and never have to play Forza again lmao. Have had more fun than I’ve had in Forza in years. Don’t let them continue to abuse you, talk with your wallet.
I started with Forza Motorsport 6 apex/Horizon 3 on my PC back in 2016 and put over 300 hours in combine with both games and I had a blast with them!
But as the years went on with newer Forza titles I noticed there was a downgrade trend of getting everything by just breathing and a single player campaign that had no thrill at all and there was no reason to do them outside of just a completion. That killed all my interests what I have with the new Forza games because there is no challenge at all or to be better at the game for earning the things you so desire. Also the sense of speed is fucking trash in FH5/FM8, playing FM4/FH1 on the 360 and going over 320km/h really was scary and fucking amazing how fast you are going!

The Team are Happy (while they were clearly burned out and demoralised under Brown) once again, many of the new Faces *clearly* know what they are doing as Developers, Torben is clearly an actual Gamer, not a Corporate Suit like Brown (and Esaki..), and has proven himself to a good safe pair of Hands for Horizon, it feels like a Passion Project again, if one still *very* Held back by Several Mike Brown Era Issues such as the use of FOMO (which I hope is Scrapped for FH6 in exchange for a full Return to Paid DLC for New to Forza Cars and Straight to Autoshow for Returning Cars, as some of the Latest Updates do hint to a Possible return to that Model) and the Awful main map (however, Rally Adventure shows much more commitment to great Driving and Racing Experience that I hope is used to Guide FH6) , it has improved Tremendously However, Agreed!
Incredible video, even though I'm new to the Horizon series being a PC player that started with 3 on gamepass (4 wasn't actually the first there), I still feel the lack of a campaign and any meaningful objective hurts 4 and 5 for me, yeah in 3 you also had a nothing character at least you had the objective of building the festival being it's director and all.

I love the forza games, but there was something off about FH5. I couldnt explaine it into words. After watching this video I realized that deep down I tryed to love this game as much as the previous ones. But it turns out it doesnt stand close to the other FH games. And that brought a tear to my eye.

Problem is, this game is absolutely NOT the work of 6 years, they 100% lied to our faces. There's no passion. Outside of the glitches, it looks and feels last gen, missing features, tracks and cars, boring career mode, terrible car sounds, poor customisation and UI/interface and they're already recycling cars that were drivable before and its barely few months in. Not built from the ground up.

The Forza Horizon series in its current form is a perfect demonstration of trying to appeal to everyone while appealing to no one.
It's trying to be a racing game, but everyone's a winner!
It's trying to be a sandbox, yet it's just an empty pit.
It's trying to be a life simulator/RPG without effectively immersing the player into the open world. There's no plot, there's no purpose to houses, there's no incentive to progress when they toss you a hyper car at level one. Give me my VW Corrado and let me work my way up to an Apollo IE ffs.
There's no incentive to do...ANYTHING. And it's really disappointing, because at one point, it was hard to hate anything Turn10/Playground Games released. Now, I avoid them like the plague. They've essentially morphed into another EA.

Millions of people play forza for their own personal reasons. Mine is I am ADDICTED to tuning the cars in the game and competing against other players online. I really love cars and driving and going fast! I love this game! Everything about it as far as the driving experience, the exploration, the tuning…keeps me playing this game. I’ve been learning how to tune for over 3 years now and the reward was worth the challenge. Also driving manual with clutch is the icing on the cake 👍
Fr, I'd like FH5 to give us simple DLC with Soccer event where we push, hit, ram into bigass ball to score goal. Like Rocket LEague but toned, bit more realistic. It would be fun and the stadium would be useful.

Indeed, FH6 needs to look a lot more towards Motorfest (as much as I personally dislike Motorfest) in some ways, such as the Clear and Open love for *Cars* , and designing the Map around the Cars by building the Roads in a Vertical, Challenging Environment to Force the use of the Roads, and Designing the Road Layout to not only be Logical and Built around Providing good Course Layouts (like FH1-4's Layouts, and Motorfests) but also with Roads clearly designed to Complement various Car Types, Wide Open Highways for Hypercars, Fast Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT Cars, Flowing, but Tight and Challenging, Rural Back Roads for Classics and Sports Cars, Urban Runs in Both a Modern City, and Pretty, Old, little Towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Roads that look like a Piece of Dropped Spaghetti for Japanese Drift Masters, etc. Etc. Indeed, Cars *First* , Fripperies later..
And No Eliminator at all!

Forza Motorsport - the pinnacle of track racing? Rfactor came out 4 months after FM1, has up to 104 cars at a track at the same time (GT1-4 had 6, FM1-3 8?, FM4 12/16), race weekend (practice->qualifying->race), configurable single race mode (Forza did get that in Xone era - "freeplay"), timed races, 24hr day/night cycle, multi-class races, huge modding scene (it's the Assetto Corsa of it's time). However it doesn't have much base content, no career mode and zero "presentation". 5 years later with MS money FM4 didn't have any of that, the "best of the series".
As for FH5, it's a solid "casual" racer, that's why many people like it. I don't get why it being a sandbox with no/little restrictions is such a bad thing, it's a positive thing IMO - you got a meme hyper(?)car and you don't have to use it in the first race or at all but players that want that can use it. It's not a sim, it has some unrealistic things (like the Senna on slicks off tarmac) but that's fine IMO.
Many peoples never played Forza Horizon before release on PC and specially on Steam.
This is what happens when fans continue to put blind faith on a dev that had the audacity to locked the LFA as an Ultimate Collection exclusive in Forza 4, betraying all those who purchased every single DLC or season pass for the vanilla version. And don't even make me talk about the atrocity that is Forza 5.
Turn 10 will keep feeding you shit because, well, since you're still offering them your money unconditionally, looks like you don't mind at all. Don't ever complain again about them taking advantage of your nostalgia.
Fans, stop convincing yourself that the shitty game you played is good. If you truly care about this series, point out its flaws, make your voice loud and clear to the dev and everyone on the same boat as you, and don't open your wallet if they don't listen. As a massive fan of forza, and a Hispanic kid, the trailer to this game honestly made me the most excited i had ever been for a game as well as for cod mw 2 (also set in Mexico), such a shame the state that they ended up in with us gamers ://
One of my biggest problems with Horizon 5 is that while doing the Festival playlist it rains a disproportionate amount of times which also takes away from the different seasons, not that they were very noticeable to begin with.

FH3 was my first since that time this franchise made it's jump onto PC. I had a blast, played for month, was excited when FH4 was announced, loved the idea of scotlands landscapes. Aaaaaand i quit after two hours since i was bored, nothing felt meaningful. Tried it a couple of times but it did not click at all with me. FH5.. it's new and shiny so in a sale i went for it. Guess what, i'm bored and quit after 5 hours. Nothing feels important, tons of events each one meaningless, random progression and nothing felt engaging to me. I'll steer clear of future entries.

Great timing to release the video in the month that Horizon 5 is pretty much unplayable as it´s all expensive as hell cars that I can´t all afford despite actively playing since launch. I still somehow still have fun playing this game, doing the festival playlist with my gf every week (except from this month) but that´s less for the game and more for the social aspect. I don´t even have any desire to touch Motorsport because it just plainly sucks, especially the car list. Thx for this great video!

I don’t think I’ve done that forzathon challenge. Last week or maybe this week you need like a 5 million dollar car. I’m not spending 5 million on a car for 2 cars in the playlist that I already have in fh4 and know damn well haven’t been changed whatsoever. I feel like the playlist got worse. Fh4 you usually just needed a certain type of car, like muscle, or sports cars or classics which could be had for cheap.

first off, top--notch work into exploring how lacklustre and disappointing work that we consumers and racing game fans have received. The original Horizon is what got me into this franchise and it's always going to be one of the most phenomenal games I had got my hands on and ever since then was one whirlwind of joy after each entry until it got to 4,5 and Motorsport. seeing these games downgrade both in progression and gameplay as they take choices that're either not wanted by players or confusing to even include in the first place !
Microsoft's Xbox Gamepass has just been ruining any or all hope to their studios wanting to succeed if every game they make is added to the pass and can be quickly dropped if people don't like what comes from that product, Forza included into the roster alongside Halo, Starfield, Redfall and any other recent titles that've fallen from grace compared to whatever talent they provided in older titles.
I want to continue playing Forza and always will, but not in the state it is being put in.
I loved the physics, i loved tuning my own cars. I love open world type racing games. I can never get all three unless its forza. I hate how short the races are, i hate how skill checks are required for story missions, i hate that the unbeatable AI resort to bumping you out of lines, i hate how limited we are on choices for car designs like bumpers and aero. I love this game for the best of its strengths, i hate how it is for how lacking the executions are.

It does feel like Horizon is in safe hands again (Maybe because he is, in being a "Gallifreyan Timelord pretending to be a 1970s English Bohemian" Level (Yes, Tom Baker Shoutout) "odd" clearly an actual Gamer, while Mike Brown, with his fake Vegas Smile and constant Litany of Buzzwords, Marketing Spiel and Flavour Text, was, like Chris Esaki, clearly a Corporate Suit pining for its Chair in the Boardroom!) now, so I have a little hope for FH6!
So long as Torben had the good Sense to *Scrap* Browns Inevitable "FH4.7- Forknife with Cars 2, Politikal Elektrik Boogaloo- FOMO to the Max Edition!" "vision" for FH6 and start again from Scratch with something more in line with FH2/3 (a Return to 1 becoming Impossible when MS mandated a PEGI 3/ESRB E Rating for all Future Forza Games in 2019) , FH6 could, Possibly, be a Return to form!
What I will say is, as much as I Disliked Motorfest (the Glitchwave stuff and the constant colour Bombardment, it was too much Sensory Overload for me (being on the Spectrum is not fun! believe me!) , and I did not like, at all, all the Unnecessary Profanity and Blasphemy in the Dialogue, hey, it upsets me, I do not hide my Faith (Reformed Christian), and it is so Disappointing as Motorfest could, and should, have been a 3/E, all Ubisoft had to do was Reign Ivory Tower in a Bit!) I do hope that FH6 copies what Motorfest did get oh so Right! The Festival! Enormous main Festival Site that you can see from miles away, all Races Marked with Massive Balloons that dot the Sky, DJ Booths at all Startlines like FH1, Billboards, Titantrons, Graffiti , the Festivals Presence all over the Place in the Open World, You know make the Festival a *Character in its own right* like Motorfest did, not clearly just tacked on at the last Second as Legacy Feature like in FH5!. Copy the Map Design too, Built around the Racing and Driving Experiences, with Different Roads aimed at Different Types of Cars (Big Highways for Hypercars, Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT's, Urban Runs in both Modern Cities and Small, old, Pretty towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Passes for Japanese Drift Masters, etc etc) so the map feels alive, real, and built for Racing, not Forknife with Cars! As well as those *epic* Car sounds! Wooo, even the *EV's* sound good in that Game!
I just hope, however, that they use a Graphics Engine that actually *works* , even if it means holding the Game back here and there by using the Current FH2-5 Engine again!

I will definitely not be pre-ordering Horizon 6 again. I'll wait for real gameplay videos that don't gloss over anything. I no longer trust the games magazines when it comes to Horizon, because they have portrayed Horizon 5 as the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Without exception...
The problem with racing games or other games aswell, is that in the last 10 to 15 years the player freedom and enjoyment of playing games, has slowly died, today there are nothing left. When i think of Forza, i think about a fun racing game, where i could have fun, putting a V12 in a Fiat 500 and just have fun racing and playing, a creative freedom makes a lot of fun.
The last fun Forza games was Forza Motorsport 3 (FM4 was like 3, just with more of those same races) and for Forza Horizon, it was FH2, after that player enjoyment and creativ freedom was slowly removed for every release, just like the motorsport series. But for all games, when the love for money get bigger than the love for the game, nothing can save it.
Just pick any racing game in the last 15 years that was fun and you felt the freedom you had before? or any game for that matter :-D

Forza is at a point now where even new content doesn't hit the same. When they released the "new" 2022 Subaru BRZ, I was like, "Cool a half-assed new car that's just a reskin of the Toyota 86." I started playing FH4 because there was usually something that felt new and innovative. It's only been 5 years that I've played, and all that magic and awe that FH4 invoked is no more. I'm stuck in a sea of mediocrity. The only reason I play this game is because I want to love it. And it's a little bit better than NFS Unbound

The only silver lining for each track about the three tracks they just released (Daytona will be released on 16th) is they're free. At least put in a brand new never before been in Forza. I've seen the short version of this video and still get upset how this game received GOTY.

FH3 is the peak of street racing games[exl MW05 oc]. The only thing keeping me playing Horizon is the fact that the handling model on modern NFS games is absolute trash. The hotwheels dlc is the one I spent the most time playing. That DLC in FH5 just didnt hit the same. What is Forza Arrow?
I completely gave up on the whole Forza franchise after Forza Horizon 5. The final nail in the coffin was when they started with the paid car packs in FH5. Buying FH5 was one of the greatest mistakes I have ever made, but it was also a great lesson. Of course, I still have hope that they can completely turn around this franchise, but at this point, I don't really care.

Watching this video, I can’t help but ask….. “…..And!?” I have been playing this series since FM2, I have played every Forza Horizon game since the beginning, and I have played through bugs, glitches, crashes and bullshit. I am not going to stop now and certainly not because of someone pointing out negative after negative. If FH5 and FM8 were to be made to end-of-life content and feature levels from day one, A) The game wouldn’t be out for at least 5yrs later than the initial release date and B) There would be no reason to continue playing after achieving 100% completion. The number one thing a game developer wants is for the player base to continue playing the games they worked long and hard on and gave up so much of their lives for and giving us everything they were planning on giving us all at once is silly, complicated and more importantly, counterintuitive to the point of a game developer’s sacrifices. If this one person is so critical of FH5/FM8, it’s not going to stop me from playing.

You hear how they point out the car models? Does it matter if they put the Terradyne Gurkha model from FH2 into FH5? Not to me, because I like the Gurkha. I wouldn’t care if it was the model used in FH2, FH3, FH4 or FM6, for goodness sakes. All that matters to me is “BOOM! Gurkha, FH5, let’s go!” Using older car models is OK with me, it’s not lazy, it’s smart and resourceful. Making brand new models for every new game would be like me making new MLP:FiM vinyls for every car I want to put a particular character on. There’d be more mistakes and inconsistencies if Turn10 and Playground Games had to do all the car models over and over again for each new game. I certainly don’t want that, and I’m sure you don’t, either.
Are the two games in question perfect? No way! FH5 crashes unless I have the screen narrator turned on and I don’t look up anything in the Auction House. FM8 has no thumbnails for 95% of my imported vinyl groups and the penalty system gets on my nerves a bit. But I deal with it, why? Because I like cars and I like racing, driving, decorating and upgrading them. I enjoy the game the way I want and it seems as if these people are just being too mean.

I played 5 for long enough to see that the only car i wanted (NSX-R) was locked behind the auction system. Luckilly i only had the £1 gamepass demo so in the few hours that it took me to unlock the colossus and beat it with a few different cars I didn't feel cheated. Nothing i've seen since then in relation to DLC or content updates has made me want to try it again. Joining an online race is a lottery as to the type of race you want, it takes an age for the race to start or end back to the menu, sometimes dropping you in halfway through a series. It's a boring, frustrating game that somehow doesn't appeal to casual players or people wanting to spend hours tuning and testing cars.
Judging how the latest motorsport was handled I'm not even going to try the "next" horizion.

Honestly I've been playing games for over 35 years now. Horizon 5 is an absolute banger. Cars have almost never felt better to drive on ANY arcade racing game ever invented IMHO. There is a pretty fair amount of content, and the car list is pretty damn immaculate, with more being added STILL every single week.
Is the dialog cringe AF? Hell yea. Is Forza aero dogshit? Yep. Does the WHOLE of the game more than make up for it's faults. IMHO; abso fucking lutely.
What bothers me a lot is that Forza 1-4 are not backward compatible. They say it's because of licensing but that seems like a lazt answer. They already paid license for the same game.
I think they were just shit scared gamers would play them and less the souless new iterations of the franchisee.

Another youtuber called Roflwaffle did a everything wrong with Gran Turismo 7 and the whole GT franchise and goes into details like you did.
Really sad how both GT and Forza are going downhill and shows nothing of improvements. I was actually looking forward for FM 2023 since GT7 campaign and grinding early on the games life was really disappointing. But after seen reviews and how the game is going, I changed my mind.
I did played FH5 and while I did enjoyed it, I quickly found the flaws and how game lacked life compare to FH1 and FH2.
FM 2023 will improve thru 2024 like how GT7 did thru 2023 since is now a good game, I'm tired of game launching with so little content or broken and then later fixing and adding stuff that should have been on the first place and acting they have been listing to us.

I gave up on FH5 after 21 hours played, I had like 100 cars but bought only 7. Most of the money I had were from the WheelSpins, It didn't feel like a Forza Horizon game.

I wish they would sell the first 3 games on steam, those I know I would love....but the last 2 games...feel forced, they don't feel right...
That's how I feel playing the new Forza games as there is no challenge at all when earning money and getting the cars what you want at all... There was no point playing the game better if I can get an Agera R in less than an hour of gameplay. Playing FH1 last year due to how fed up with the modern Forza games really shows how the developers give fuck all to single player content and a purpose to do so. Being handed free wins isn't fun, it's boring.
