I think we should all just stfu and leave this man and his family alone until he comes back on his terms. Stop speculating on the zero information there is, there are a million possible reasons for this and it's best to leave him alone and let him deal with it privately.
So... Petey struggles with his play and gets pummeled by the media and the fan base for the better part of a year... and then JT struggles for a week and gets benched for a period... and he needs to leave the team indefinitely for a reset? Clearly there is a deeper problem. Perhaps the recent struggles exacerbated an already festering issue. Best of Luck to JT dealing with whatever he has to deal with. I hope he makes it back soon.
Pettersson was "pummeled by the media".... The guy has 12 goals in his last 62 games. The fans are rightfully pummeling him, but the media tells us that he's an elite player 24/7. The media needs to hang up their Petey kneepads and start conducting real journalism.
@ The media I saw was pummeling him, not being on their knees for him. But my point was only that players don't just take a leave of absence because they are struggling with their play.
He may be an “older” hockey player, but he is a young man, with a young family, that he is away from a lot. Give the guy a break, life can be freaking hard for anyone, and no one knows what others may be going through.
In this time and age, far too many people have become overly zealous of the private lives of public figures, and as Rick said, hungry for National Inquirer-type of juicy rumours and speculations. People seem to forget that these public figures are humans first, then hockey players or movie stars second. It takes a lot of courage for JT Miller to acknowledge that he is not ok and needs time and space to reset. I trust he will come back stronger, better, and more resilient. Give the man and his family the time and space, and trust that he will be fine. I wish Miller nothing but the best.
You don't take a leave of absense for personal reasons if you need to rest and recover... The team would've said he's out day-to-day dealing with an ambiguous injury, simple.
I think this is perfect to defuse the speculation! Dhali brought up some of the first explanations, then said it's not that. Then gave the truth from a reliable source. Case closed for me, I'll give JT his space and not feed into and search Twitter for the reason. Take care JT!
Dhali…you try to make out you aren’t part of the problem, but you absolutely are. You even muddied the speculation waters further by referencing the Corey Perry/Bedard incident. I understand your intent in saying it, but if you can’t articulate a thought or situation clearly enough to not risk it being taking out of context or spun even further, best to say nothing!
Don Taylor likes to add fuel to it too "but that situation (referencing perry/bedard) didn't result in a player taking time off". This gives the impression that Don Taylor thinks there's some sinister stuff going on.
I saw arguing with a hot dog vender the other day in English bay. He wanted a tuna hot dog and the vendor was insisting that such a hot dog doesn't exist in Canada. JT just said F this depressing country and stormed off.
Smoke some weed at home...chill. Watch great old movies from the 80s and 90s. Let the wife cook him some great meals and enjoy time off. Walk Ambleside with the Karens.
When a team loses its outstanding team leader --- along with Quinn Hughes --- that's bad news for Canucks. He got benched the other night and that was bad. So let's hope he returns in the near future because things are not looking good for this team right now.
Well his wife shutting down her prominent IG isn’t going to reduce speculation. Could just ignore it instead of shutting down. I don’t know. I think it’s normal to go through things but it’s also normal for people to wonder why and read into it.
People like you are part of the reason players like Miller need to take a mental break in the first place. There's more to being a fan than complaining.
lol....i love how when adversity hits this team, the typical Canuck fan quickly screams for lineup changes! Adversity is what makes teams great... but only if they stick together. Stop being part of the problem
@@douggarden Then why did we trade players like Horvat, Kuzmenko, Mikehyev, and Sprong? Stick together lol. Adversity is not the answer, taking action is.
Never seen or heard of an nhl player needing a reset..I expected a big game after the benching from Millzy..Not a hissy fit, then walk out on your team and fan base that love you..I guess the trade demand is next unfortunately
I don't think MOST people want to hear something negative. Like me, I think most people just want him and his family to be ok, pure and simple.
It's okay, the rest of the team should rally around each other and keep the team in contention. Time for other guys to step up.
JT get well soon you are a heart & soul player, good job by mgmt to bring in depth players, young draft picks get an opportunity, GO CANUCKS GO!👍

It's okay to be depressed if you live in Vancouver
oh yea so depressing @ the most desirable north american city to visit/live @, gimme a break crybaby
Just the FACTs please Gents. No speculation, or spin. Real Data instead. Okay?
leaves 2 of 5 core players left on the roster. should be a slaughter tonight.

bonehead . pathetic comment.
a "re-set" after 17 games? with all due respect Dhali you don't know if it's something sinister or not...NO COMMENT is more respectful than your rant
ranting is what he does tho . I’d rather him be himself

Maybe he is self reflecting on his Marc Crawford like treatment he inflicted on Petey.
He needs a day walking through the forest

all sorts of things happen in life, something could have happened to a family member or friend.
You tell him Rick
What about all the season-ticket holders who paid a lot of money. Maybe they need a mental reset to disguise an idiot commentating on this subject.
JT Miller is soft

Hey Rick, take some time off, it sounds like YOU need a reset!!
JMHO!
Miller is pissed. That's it.
Miller apparently hooked up with Bedard's mom after the game Saturday...now its hit the fan
Insider info here. J.T Miller found out his actual name should be J.T Perry. the father of the NHL strikes again.
JT is making tons of money: easy to take a leave to count his piles of cash.
rick dhaliwal is the indian don cherry
He's injured
JT is going thru challenges with his marriage, take that to da bank
His pissed because 40 didn’t get nothing.
Maybe he's just pissed for being benched.
Time to Trade Miller, Boeser, and Demko. It's clearly not working
Average canucks fb fan

Man up millzy.didn’t expect a pity party from you my guy
