I once ran a drum machine through it, with very interesting results.

Sadly lended one to a friend around 2009 who claims he gave it back, but he absolutely did not. Miss it, but very hard to find now. Same friend claimed he gave my Crown power amp back, too. He did not!
How similar is the Power Plant to the SGX LT Preamp section? I own the SGX LT but am currently just using it for a killer flanger paired with a chandler echo and it sounds Amazing. I now own 10 Art racks but haven't got a Power Plant yet. A must own for the graphics alone 🔥🔥🔥
I own one of these, bought brand new when they first hit the market. It’s STILL my favorite preamp of all time. I play mine through an ART DRX-2100.

I tried the blackface version of this preamp. The clean seemed muddy, and there was not enough gain for hard rock/metal.
Kenny H Please explain in detail as I also have the blackface version and would like to get more drive from it.
Most of the sounds are quite farty and fuzzy by today's standards but I can definitely hear some familiar 0s productions using this.

On bass this sounds great for punk or rock tones. The drive section can get a really good classic hard rock tone for guitars too. Pretty cool unit. Ps after watching your studio tour i got curious on how the gear you have sounds so im binging the playlist now.

these were dirt cheap back in the day practically couldn't give them away. one on ebay now for $900

Sounds like a fart in a jar, terrible sound m8
