Oh, gosh. What a relief. I know you are taking some time for family, but I live for your videos and now I can listen and take a nap. Thanks
Yay! I am happy to post when I can. I love sharing my projects and I will do that as long as I can😊 Thanks Shanon!
I agree, I just vibe to your voice. And you do such fun projects!
ahh, the problems of skeleton storage... no wonder people keep them in their closets lol
the tiny doll is fabulous!! great video as always!
😄😄 Thank you!!
Hiding Lydia's dolls in rooms and taking pictures for people to find her would be cute.
Oh that would be fun!! I-Spy in the dollhouse!
💖 Bless you, Ara. I really needed one of your videos today. We lost a very dear friend yesterday and I need my head in a positive place.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss, Lori. I am sending hugs to you❤
God bless you. So sorry to hear of your loss.
@@BentleyHouseMinis thank you Ara and everyone who commented. Grief is the price we pay for loving someone.
🎉 sorry hun best wishes coming from the UK 🇬🇧 🎉
Thinking about Lydia's doll, I can just imagine Delia having a perfect little Lydia doll made to give to her daughter as a pre-teen, which Lydia then made gothy when she hit that age.
Love that thought! I wonder if Delia would encourage the creativity or be frustrated... because you know it would have been the most expensive doll on the market😄
@@BentleyHouseMinis And it probably matched the decor perfectly.
Actually, that storm fit the theme of the vid perfectly! Gotta love DFW weather and it's timing! 😂☕
Haha so true! It's been making itself known recently😄
I love the snake plant, but the start of the show is that doll, she's just ADORABLE!!!
Thank you!! She is the one I am most proud of too!😊
Everything turned out so good! I love the little doll. She's too cute.
Thank you Mary!!
Sending much love from Australia.
I'm finishing off an old lounge 1/6, nice and worn with some stuffing coming out. I love watching your videos while I work. You've taught me so much.
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you have enjoyed the videos and that they have been helpful!😊
That doll is amazing! I’ll have to use that qtip trick for some doll things in a basket ( Addams family style ) One thing I learned when using embroidery thread is if you separate the thread to whatever you want to use, take a little tacky glue and use your fingers to add a thin layer to it, let dry on a piece of parchment or wax paper ( or whatever) and it makes it more workable. And it won’t fray .
Oh that's a great idea for the thread! I wonder if I could have just put it through the hole on it's own that way! Thanks for the tip!
@@BentleyHouseMinis most likely
It kind of reminded me of dental floss but not as heavy. I always use my threader no matter what lol
Never had that problem with my skeletons, i keep mine in the closet where there's plenty of space😂
😄😄
Snape, Snape, Severus Snape DUMBLEDORE!!! I love the doll, and the reference!! Actually all the minis look amazing!! I look forward to the next steps!
😄😄 Thank you!
Thank you for all your doll videos! I just painted my first 1:12 scale head for a figure! I felt cross eyed afterwards!
The camera, the skull plant and the portfolio are Great!! Tiny Lydia doll... very Cute and Cool!! Thanks and Greetings 👋
Thank you!! I had so much fun making them all😊
The doll is everything. I can’t believe her humble beginnings. Stay safe with our wild Texas weather ❤ xx
Thank you Cassandra! You stay safe as well!
during my time in the navy i was the ships photographer and used the cannisters for my loose coins.
Yay more Beetlejuice!
Whoo hoo!😊
You amaze me with every video. I enjoy watching you do what you do.
Thank you! It's my joy to be able to share these projects!
Congrats on finally seeing the Musical. Love the little doll you made. :}
Thank you, I loved it!
Omgosh the teeny tiny film canisters!! ❤ I had an SLR camera as a teenager and had sooooooo many of those little plastic tube thingies. My mum made tiny sewing kits in some of them
The curly "hair style" from drilling the skull made me think of Dia De los Muertos for some reason.
I love your snake plant...it actually looks so realistic! (My mum was a plant whisperer...in addition to being the most crafty person I have ever known!)
The tiny doll is simply amaaaaazing. As soon as you added the skin-tone paint the face just popped...even before you painted the eyes! I love it!!!
I am actually enjoying this house....even tho' I'm not a Beetlejuice fan!
I am always so happy to hear that someone is enjoying the project even when it's not their fav piece of pop culture ;) I am so glad you enjoyed the video and had so many memories pop up from it! Thank you😊
I did a similar doll in 144th scale!! Except the joints!! Yours are amazing.... cotton and glue make great body material. Beautiful job!!!!
Thank you!! I can't imagine making one in 1:144th, that would be so tiny😊
@@BentleyHouseMinis Yeah....they are about 1/2 inch!!!!
The teeny tiny doll came out great! Now I kind of want to try 😄
I don't enjoy stormy days, but I love a Stormy outro!
Go for it!!! It was fun to make something so tiny and detailed out of a plain household material. Thank you😊
We have had really rollercoaster weather here too and lots of stormy days. Thank you Ara, this is such a fun time spent with you. Yes I remember film canisters I still have a few, I use them to hold tiny nails and pins and flake glitter.
The snake plant we call here Witches Tongue. I have 15 of them now. I love them around the house and they are an "alive" plant 🪴
You have done a wonderful job Ara.
Thank you Jenny! I have heard of it called "Mother-Laws-Tongue" before but 'Witches Tongue" is a new one to me! So glad you liked how they came out😊
There's a lil racoon face in your left pillow. ❤
Today was rather quiet in my part of Texas, a drastic change from the last couple of days.. weeks.. of ferocious storms.
Awesome video, as always!
Lol I will have to go back and look for the face! I hope you all have some time to dry out a bit from the storms!
I get so many ideas from you! Like something you'd think would be super obvious, like qtip stems, I didn't even think about! I appreciate your content.
Thank you! I am always happy to hear I can help strike up new ideas!
One thing I've seen about doll hair is taking the chalk pastels and coloring brushed out yarn with that, and then setting the color pastels with heat (straightening iron usually). Not sure if that would have gotten you black hair, but brushed black yarn using Stormy's pet brush is an option!
I have never tried the chalk pastel technique so I will keep that in mind! If I just had a small amount of black yarn that would have been great. Actually now that I think of it I could have just brushed Stormy and used her hair😄
Love the camera! Im a former photographer so seeing old school film cans was great! I used to keep state quarters in mine. I worked in a photo lab for 11 years, so we always had a ton. Fortunately, the lab was in Akron OH, where the Inventor's Hall of Fame is. We can donate all kinds of things to them for kids to use to create their own inventions. I took my son there as a kid and he had a blast.
I love that!! I am sure they brought many hours of joy and innovations for those kids! Great memory of the old film cannisters😊
LOL You need a "Beware: Dog can't hold its licker" sign. :) LOVE the cameras and accessories
😄😄 Oh my goodness that is perfect for Stormy!
I also carried around film canisters for bassoon reeds (and after I quit band, I carried them around because I started doing more film photography!)
So many uses lol! Yay for a fellow bassoon player😊
I used my mom's film canisters for bead storage or mixing paint (once a crafter always a crafter)! My parents used them for travel medicine containers as well, and I'm pretty sure my mom had sewing needles or buttons or other sewing notions in them as well. Such a useful sized container! We had some clear ones too (Fuji Film I think?) that were nice! But not as nostalgic as the Kodak ones.
Oh yes! I forgot about the clear ones! Those always had lids that were harder to get off lol! They would be great paint containers... they should start up making them again lol!
So glad to see that you got a chance to break away and create. I know that it's hard when you're in the caregiver role. Make sure to take time for self-care. It's crucially important!
This was awesome. I have to go make a portfolio now 😂
Thank you Adrienne❤❤ I appreciate that and have fun making the portfolio!
that mini Lydia doll is just amazing!
I just loved seeing how everything turned out! The doll was my favorite, just right for Lydia. I still have film in my film canisters. I still use a 35mm sometimes.
Using film definitely takes dedication now a days!! But it turns out so lovely in the end. By Brother-In-law still shoots with film and they definitely have a different feel about them!
Oh yes the small film containers, they were great for beads and small miniature parts, I had a lot of them with different craft things in as well
Perfect for beads!! I feel like I need to find some to organize with lol!
Finally I had enough time to watch it till the end! I'm in love with this tiny doll. And honestly it's amazing what you can do from simple materials 🤩
Ooo I love your earrings! I have the same set and always think of you when I wear them. Can't wait for the rest of the house. You have such an amazing talent! Love from South Africa
Thank you!!😊 I just received these from a friend and I was so excited to wear them!
Oh! This is so cool! The skull pot echoes the shrunken head's look in the waiting room!
Oh it does!! Thank you😊
That's wonderful! I love those accessories. My favorite has to be the Lydia doll. That turned out so doggone cute, I can't even. I still have some film canisters that I keep bits and bobs in my jewelry box....a watch that needs repair, a charm bracelet that I should fix (someday)...things like that.
I am sure if I dig far enough into the boxes in my closet I would find some with jewelry too😄 They are just too handy lol! I am so glad you liked the little doll, thank you Rachael!
Fill them with quarters for the laundromat 🤣
Yes! Great for coins!
Wow ,never thought doll, would come out looking next level.❤
It did look a little weird for a while lol!
Just a tip for the drilling. Start with a smaller drill bit at first. This will help getting the hole started and keeping the bit in the exact location you want it in.
The film canisters turned out amazing! My mom always had them in her purse for Rolaids and Tylenol haha
Lol perfect use for them!
These items are wonderful. I love every one. Great job. And I never heard much thunder; I think one time. But seeing you is worth listening to the thunder.
Haha thank you Pat! I sounded a lot louder while I was recording and I re-recorded a few sentences that were extra loud lol! I am glad it wasn't too distracting😊
The look on her face when you gave her the camera lol 😂😊 i know its a doll.
Lol!!
That little doll came out so good!
It is a clever way to make the doll. It really looks like porcelain. I remember the photo cannisters very well and they looked the same. In our family we collected them for the small stuff: beads screws that kind of things. When my father died 5years ago we found a box full of the cannisters. Empty, because he couldn't throw them away: you never know how you can use them. Very good memories. Have a nice weekend Ara.
You found a treasure trove then!! Thank you Marjan, I am so glad you liked how she came out❤
🎉thats cool free sound effects lol🎉
The little cameras turned out so good!! Glad you got to see Beetlejuice!!
Thank you Joni!!
Can't wait to see the construction of Lydia's room and all of it put together!
Everything turned out SO cute! What a clever idea to make Lydia’s doll out of Q-tips! Fantastic!
Thanks so much! 😊
I still use a camera film canister to put broken sewing machine needles in.
On that same note, it would be good for old craft blades as well!
You did such a great job on that little doll. Speaking of dolls I sent you a photo of a Beetlejuice doll I saw that I wanted to share with you.🥰
I saw it! He was so fun! Thank you Lesley😊
I use my film canisters mainly for storing beads and buttons - I drill a couple of tiny holes in the lid and attach a sample bead with fine wire so I know what's inside. I also made a tiny travel mending kit. The canister is just large enough to hold a pair of folding scissors along with needles, safety pins, thread wound on a piece of card and a few buttons.
Adding the threaded beads to the top is such a good idea!
It all looks so good! The doll is a bit creepy, but that certainly fits. I am watching this during a storm at my house and it thundered here about the same time it did on the video. 🤣I used to have those film canisters everywhere. They were really good for holding loose change.
Wow you had your own surround system for the spooky effects lol! Thank you so much❤
Ara, that doll is amazing! I just love it, so cute.
Its super cute love your eye for detail looking forward to the rest of the bettke juice house
Very good to see you!
My happy time 😊
Thank you for being you and taking time for us...sending you lots of hugs.
Thank you!😊❤
🥀🌱🥀I am more and more interested and entertained in following this project, it is always very interesting and nice to see more and more details and aspects of Lydia's character through her objects.🥀
The doll is truly exceptional, and not only that, but the skull vase is something brilliant! I can't wait to see the rest of the house and the other remaining characters come to fruition!🥀
🌱Thank you🌱
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! It has been a journey that has brought me to make miniatures that I never imagined before! So much was hidden around that set😊
Nicely done.
Little Lydia is the cutest!! I’m so happy you posted!
Yay! Thank you!😊
Ara I love the Lydia doll. It came out amazing! Have a wonderful weekend 💐
Thank you Esther! You too!❤
It’s been storming here in southern Ohio a lot also. I enjoyed this video immensely, as I’ve enjoyed all of your videos I’ve been lucky enough to see!
What a lovely way to spend a Friday night. It’s storming here as well, the traffic slowed right down on the highway in front of our yard. Love the doll, so cool. Take care of yourself and see you again when you are able.
Thank you for spending your Friday night with me Donna!! So glad you enjoyed it😊
I have binge watched all RichMiniatures videos, which we both agreed that you are amazing ❤… thank you for sharing your project 😊
Wow, thank you!😊
The doll!!! I adore her ❤ nice job as always. Great use of every day materials. Thank you Ara
Thank you!! I love when I already have everything I need!
I used the film canisters to hold small beads, plant/flower seeds I collected in the garden, stitch markers (for crochet), small things I wanted to remain dry when I went camping... Sadly I only have 2 left now.
I saw a comment that someone found them for a good price on ebay!
Those pieces came out so nice. I've made a snake plant for my miniature garden room. I've also made a fern using the method you showed today. I still haven't made any people for my miniatures, trying to get the nerve to try. Thanks for sharing.
They are fun to make but they definitely take some time to practice. My first people were not so great but I am glad I made them as a learning tool moving forward! I will have to try to make a fern one day!
i use film canisters to hold my kneaded eraser!
Perfect!
Your work is always beautiful and cute! ❤ Loving Lydia's room!
Thank you so much!😊
Ara if you only knew that your videos are the only thing capable of turning off my anxious insomniac brain 🙏🏻 istg if anything happened to the channel I would simply never sleep again and turn into Tyler durden 😂
I am so glad my videos can bring you some joy and comfort! That makes me so happy❤ Thankfully I don't plan to stop for a very long time!
It’s so good to see you again, I can see that you’re more relaxed and positive ❤ hope that your family situation has improved 😊 I enjoyed every minute of your video especially Lydia’s doll she turned out sooo cute and creepy at the same time 😂 and you gave me an idea for my mouse Jasmine, I wanted to make some baby mice after she becomes pregnant 😂 (in the near future that is, still no male mouse for her to fall in love with)but I haven’t decided how to make them and your doll is making my brain work overtime 😅 thank you for sharing your amazing talent, hope one day I’ll reach your level, all my best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
Thank you Kara!! Yes, we are definitely doing better than we were a couple months ago. I am so happy to hear this video gave you some ideas for your own project! How Wonderful!
Thanks Ara lovely work. Great job with the
Doll.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Debbra!
That doll she had in the movie is a scooba doo doll from the 60s. Love your mini one, and the skull is really cute!!!
Oh my gosh you are right!! I love finding the history behind things. And it's funny when it happens after I made it lol! Thanks Billy!
So great. Well done Ara. I especially love the lydia doll. Can't wait to see Lydia's bedroom come together
Thank you! 🤗 I need to get to designing her wallpaper lol!
I absolutely love all the little accessories for Lyda. That little doll is amazing. I may have to try give that a go 😊 I can't wait to see it all put together in her room
You should definitely go for it! It was tedious but fun after all was said and done😊 Thank you Zoe!
The thunder was very thematic!
All your pieces in this video are just great. The teeny cameras and photos are so clever.the doll is absolutely fantastic.
Thank you!!
Always love to watch you create. Love your personality!!🥰🌼
Amazing as always! I love the mini cameras and film canisters and Polaroids! It would have been so much fun finding little pictures to go inside of them! 😊
Those were really fun to find! Thank you😊
You could very lightly dry brush the top part of the portfolio that covers the handles. Whereas a real one would have been worn & a tiny bit shiny from being grabbed & picked up in a hurry without using the handles. Well loved & used often❤!!! When I would slap dash something that kinda looks like what it is, you go into such caring detail to be exact😊! This is why you do what you do, while I watch & admire the outcome❤!!!
XOXO ❤
Dry brushing is a great idea! That would definitely help it stand out in what will probably be a rather dark room in the end! Thank you!
We call your snake plant, mother-in-law's tongue in England 😂 xx
Yay more beetle juice I love the little doll very on theme 🖤well done making it looked great all of its awesome 🤩
Enjoy watching your videos so relaxing and hey the thunder storm felt like it was on theme also.
I love when the weather cooperates with my theme lol! Thank you!😊
@@BentleyHouseMinis it’s amazing like it was meant to be. Your welcome look forward to seeing more of the beetle juice house as it comes along. Super excited for the sequel coming out later this year. The musical I hope comes to Australia would love to see it.
About 40 years ago, I made dolls out of q tip swabs! Mine were Victorian in style. I still have one.
Oh wow!! Do you have any photos of them? I would love to see!
@@BentleyHouseMinis how do I send you a photo? I only have the one left
@@LynneWright you can send it to my email at bentleyhouseminis (at) gmail (dot) com. I am excited to see the photo!
Ara! The doll looks great and very creative way of making it
Thank you😊
Loving the doll, plant and portfolio!!! Looks amazing! 😻
Thanks so much!!😊
@@BentleyHouseMinis you are very welcome 🤗
Fabulous! Well done Ara! 😊
I love Lydia's doll and of course the Polaroids. I get to see Beetlejuice 2 for work (i work auditing movies and theaters) and I am so excited for it. So beetlegust will just have to get me through until October when it releases.
Oooh I am so jealous!! I hope it lives up to the hype and still has the same feel as the original. I am looking forward to this years Beetlegust as well since its right before the movie release!
Cute very tim button ❤😮😂
Love the little doll .
Thank you!!
U saying u r not great at something is a under statement u r super ❤
Hello ! You could put the skeletons in a box rather than a bottle than kind of sticks 😁
I drilled a hole in my desk too 😅
The doll is really cute 👍🏻
I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that drilled a hole in their desk lol! It makes me feel better!
Oh my gosh! I have the same exact shirt as you!😂💚 Great job as always, Ara!
A friend sent it to me!! Thank you❤
If you try the embroidery thread joint method again, maybe try a beading needle? It’s basically a needle with a giant eye- the needle is made of two pieces of wire. Might be one small enough for that drill bit!
There have been a couple things recently that a beading needle has been suggested for so maybe it's time to get one!
The potential shmuicide *unaliving* letter needs to go on the vanity! That would add such good movie detail.
Yes I think I will add that too, especially since that was the scene where we saw her room the most. Perhaps I will put in the in the garbage can next to the vanity too to show that she changed her mind!❤
Your snake plant is cool! Love the combined look you made to condense the items 🙂 I did have to google what a snake plant was as I’d never heard of it before, to actually find out that I have called them “mother in law’s tongue” for years as it’s another name for a snake plant and my mum has had them in her house all my live…literally she had one that is older than me lol. Don’t know if it is just in the uk that it’s called that though but every day i learn something new which is awesome! Xx
Wow, you constantly amaze me!
I wonder if u could have used jump rings for jewelry making to make creating the doll joints easier. Came out great!
Possibly! I think I would have had to drill the hole a little larger to get it through.
Omg I need that doll it’s so cute!!!
You’re amazing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing
Aww thank you Lisa! I am so glad you liked it!
Given the already tinyness of your camera I can't believe you made film cannisters!😮
Lol! I just had to try! I am glad they actually worked!
