- Republican lawmakers in North Carolina are pushing forward with their plan to repeal a pandemic-era law that allowed the wearing of masks in public for health reasons, a move spurred in part by demonstrations against the war in Gaza that have included masked protesters camped out on college campuses.
The legislation cleared the Senate on Wednesday in a 30-15 vote along party lines despite several attempts by state Senate Democrats to change the bill. The bill, which would raise penalties for someone who wears a mask while committing a crime, including arrested protesters, could still be altered as it heads back to the House.

It was perfectly fine to wear masks during black lives matter riots because Democrats have lower standards for minority groups. Put too many demonstrators are or simply wearing the mask to conceal their identity if you can't see that you are really blind and stupid
How dumb are these people? My father had cancer and had his immune system destroyed by chemo and was required to wear a mask whenever he went out!

I can see why someone robbing a business needs a face mask. This is unfair to criminals if they want their identity concealed and should be allowed to do it.🤡😷

Good, people use medical reasons as an excuse to wear them to commit crimes. If you're worried about breathing air with everyone, stay home and order what you need.
Cool story, but if I feel the need to wear a mask because I'm sick and being courteous, or I don't want to get sick, I'ma do so regardless.

It's not a bad thing to wear when you are slightly sick and don't want to spread germs. I hear what you are saying but banning things like this so back to spreading disease. In Asia they do it. I loved that I could wear a mask to work when forced to be in the office and can't work from home.
