My morning swim follows a short 4km run and I don't know if it's because I'm sweaty post-run and there is moist between the goggle and my skin and they're sliding or I'm not creating enogh vacuum. I thought about wearing a hat to prevent slide (if that's the case) but I really don't want to wear one tbh as I think they're really uncomfortable. My wife has been swimming since she was born, but mainly pool swimming and her goggles NEVER leak or are foggy. I like your advice on tipping your head forward to see if they stick, so I'll try that. Being from the southern hemisphere I'm dreading my first "swimming" leg of a triathlon... give me a 15km kayak over a 1500m swim anyday! Still your advice is priceless
And queue the "This is just an ad for Magic 5 goggles" comments. The fact is, goggles that fit work better, and the field of view of these is amazing. No more goggle eye rings, achy eyes from suction, sore eyes from having to overtighten the straps. Some products are actually worth highlighting, and Magic 5 goggles are one of them.
Head position is very important, chin on to chest, looking down to the bottom of the pool, arms straight behind ears, hands together crossed. Streamline...
I am quite surprised, that there are very few nice options for optical googles out there, with some of the big companies not even offering a single one.
My goggles always leak in open water but surprisingly didn't take in one single drop when I tried them in an indoor swimming pool. I think it was the warm shower before the swimming that made them stick better.
These THEMAGIC5 goggles were a big waste of time. Fit was no where near close, there was daylight reflecting on the inside while dry fitting & the seal was already ripped before a first swim. Money back was no option, just one more replacement offered, but I had no confidence that would deliver, based on the first pair. Straight in the bin.

My problem is even with good sealing goggles that if theres a pontoon start in a arace i will always find them on my face... i've tried to do start training from the blocks at pool but the success rate is very mixed... from 1/10 to 5/10 start dives my goggles survive... how the hell should one orientate to the entrance into the water? :/

I find if put my goggles under my cap it leaks, but if I put on top of my cap it fits perfect.
How do you stop your goggles leaking? Let us know!

my zoggs preditor seal well in a pool but leak when in open water.. why the difference?
My goggles leak from left lower area. I’ve changed two different brands. TYR, Speedo, .. anyone know any brands which make goggles for wider face?

Magic 5 was the worst custom fit I’ve tried. After replacing it twice , I got rid of it. It’s a gimmick
