I found Hult International School's DBA which said it was funded on there, but when I applied it said the cost was $95k for a 2.5 year program. Whew! Thats my annual salary.
Sorry Dr. Dave but your view about DBA is totally unaceptable because the DBA is a research degree same as the PhD. Harvard DBA's is not different from what is done in UK universities ( Durham, Manchester, etc...) since they are using the Harvard method so calling a DBA a strong MBA is really disrepectful. As per today i barely know a School where the DBA work is a project instead of being a research work in the field of management. At Durham university they request a dissertation based on a research work of at least 60,000 words which usually leads to 300/350 pages. I am sorry but i cannot let you say this kind of untruth. No no no the DBA is not an inferior degree to the PhD since they are both research degrees which lead to academic tenure in UK and USA.
I just looked up the Durham program. It appears the Global DBA is what I am referring too in this case (sort of an executive phd), and the DBA is more like a PhD. Very good to know! There are definitely differences across countries. Thanks!!
It appears that Manchester makes the distinction between PhD And DBA much more like what I said in the video. Just looked it up. Maybe not exactly, and every program and student is different!

But it is a research Doctorate. As i said it earlier the candidates are required to submit a 60,000 words dissertation based on research in the chosen area of study which usually leads to 300/350 pages. The candidates spend the first two years attending seminars and business research methods courses

I am currently pursuing my DBA online (ACBSP accredited, by the way), and have been intrigued by the writings of Clayton Christensen. Christensen has made me thinking about switching my dissertation to disruptive innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. Your thoughts, please? Thank you very much!
Nice - there is recent research on disruptive innovation and how difficult it is to measure. I think it is in Strategic Management Journal around 2015. I would encourage you to go for it but try to carve out your niche.

Hi David Another good report, they all give me food for thought. It’s an interesting world we live in. Your bringing up the penicillin invention was interesting and thinking about how it saved so many lives for many years and now we have to be so careful not to over use it due to the super bug. Hey Dave, thanks for all the videos. In reference to your "legitimate" DBA programs ... would you mind sharing any thoughts you have on Heriot-Watt's DBA program ... assuming you have any. Theirs is online and is one that caught my eye due to numerous factors: it's not a top school, but it's ranked higher than a lot of where my colleagues got their MBAs and PhDs. The 100% online aspect is nice for their DBA. It seems pretty entrepreneurial/self-directed. It also seems more affordable than other programs I've seen. I'm just afraid that it is a trap and would fall into what you would consider an "illegitimate" DBA program.
