@@alexd1559 I believe the technicality comes from boxing, kickboxing, and mma having various amounts of rule sets that change which techniques are effective, thus not really being a specific style. Actually Lethwei (head bang crazy) would be classified as a style of kickboxing. Though it's really just a useless technicality, and barely applies to boxing anymore.
@@alexd1559 What I'm saying is that technically kickboxing is a broader term and would include quite a few styles. Savat, Sanda, Muay Thai, and Lethwei are types of kickboxing, just with different rule sets. Each of these is, however, a very specific martial art with its own set of techniques. Most people refer to American kickboxing when they say kickboxing though, so again, the technicality is useless and just a waste of time lol.
3:05 "I got my black belt in three years" Lol true, pretty much all my friends that takes taekwondo class got their black belts even before middle school
Yeah it’s a fairly fun and easy form of Martial arts. I did that when I was younger and now I’m doing boxing. Pretty sure I’m halfway to being a kickboxer already 😅
If you go in a good school you won’t get a black belt in 3 years that’s for sure. Three years is the time it takes to get from one belt to another when you get to red belt.
I got mine in 2.5, surprisingly the place I got it at is Kukkiwon certified. It's not much of a martial art as it is a sport honestly, but it is really good at getting a younger audience into the world of martial arts.
3 years is not long enough IMO. I did it in high school and it was on average 3 years for most students just to get to red belt. I never got to black, I lost interest because, well, it wasn't a great school and I only did it cause my parents forced me. I honestly didn't even know it was Korean until well after I'd quit. We counted in Japanese and addressed the teacher at Sensei so I always thought it was Japanese. How odd. I'm going to start again though, at a local joint.
I’m going to say boxing and wrestling. Like you said, since we evolved from the apes your first instinct when you had your food stolen is to punch . Even if crazy with no technique, that’s boxing. However since we don’t just stand and throw blows only, the next thing is to grab the opponent while he or she is hitting you and either headlock my head or throw them to the floor and now you have wrestling!! Those two sloppy and no technique everyone can do and it’s the most basic. The technical aspect like grappling jiujitsu came later as we evolved and were able to learn that. But basic primal instincts is to punch and grab someone to throw them down hence boxing and wrestling the two oldest martial arts!!!
Wrestling is older than boxing, Hummans are made to wrestle thats why they dont have all their knuckles hard(you can easily break you hand by punching with the wrong part of the knuckle) while hummans are more efficent for wrestling
@@kayragur3542 True but who’s thinking that thousands of years ago? Lol!! We were primitive and we don’t know knuckles break!! It’s all primal instinct and like they say all fights start standing up and boxing would qualify as standup so boxing is technically older!! 😉
@@emanueletorregrossa4218 wrestling is much more ergonomic for a primitive humman an if you looked at a kid forming a fist you will notice that their fists are perfect to break their own fist(forming a fist is not instictive) but wrestling is compleatly about instinc if you look at street fights it ussualy ends with they holding to each other while trying to throw their opponent to the floor,do you think they learnt to do that? Of course not they do that because their instincts say that they should grab each other and push their opponent until the dominant person is standing, thats hummans instics,so its safe to assume that wrestling is the first martial art/fighting style.
Lol! I saw part two first. And I’ve been researching pankration and I thought, “it’d be cool if they mentioned pankrarion and that Indian art.”I love it! And the historical details too.

hahaha lets GOOO
@@SenseiSeth also love how judo is BJJ’s dad in this?
Hahaha yep yep!
@Grappling Friends lol definitely.
I mean all I have to say here is, "oss". Except I like gi and no gi.
No wrestler talking about their superior conditioning??😂😂
You did really good man. At times it was difficult to track wich martial art was talking, but it looked like a conversation. Good job!
Thanks Lucas!!
"kicking children" idk if this was intentional but the only thing that makes me think of is wonderboy hook kicking his nephew which was adorable.
I went straight to Seinfeld and Kramer when he took karate.
It is intentional
@@prpredatorz310 I dominate the dojo!

“Did someone say dance?” LMAO
😂😂😂
Would love to have a random shot of capoeira just dancing while everyone talks
@Joana Dark Makulele, the knife style, is funnier
@Joana Dark I know what it is, regardless it’s still impractical compared to a more direct style

Muay Thai's confussion when Karate said 'children' hahaha
This was great. Good acting and editing
Classic moments - Krav guy on his phone and gi BJJ and no gi BJJ hating each other the most out of everyone.
I'm gonna need another one of these asap this shit is hilarious!
Kinda feeling bad for all Luta Livre fighters about that “Nogi BJJ”
Hahah I meant to put No Gi JJ 🤦🏻♂️😂
@@SenseiSeth 😂 You missed opportunity for having discussion in comments about Kosen Judo and BJJ
@@vaskemusic5787 Is kickboxing the same as muay thai? This for me pretty much sums up the discussion.
@@matheusmarques7009 Yeah but in this case Gracie Family claim that they first created ground fighting which obviously isn’t true . Same for Nogi BJJ it’s Luta Livre .
@@vaskemusic5787 I agree with both things, but where did you saw the Gracies claiming to have invented the ground game? I'm brazilian and here i never saw them speaking such thing. We have strong judo too, so it was always clear where it all came from.
I love that BJJ asks dad Judo what Oss means and he then asks Karate and none of them has a clue
As an ITF taekwondo practitioner, I would like to apologise for my brother, he can be bit . . . well, you know, WTF.

Yes part 2 would be quite the deal

@@SenseiSeth why the disrespect to boxing?
RIP BOXING, the disrespect haha
you could argue that boxing, kickboxing and mma are sports rather than martial arts (depending on which definition you take for martial arts)
@@expecttheunexpec1000 Oh i very much disagree that those three are not martial arts, mostly cause i started out in kickboxing but also because jeet kun do and head bang crazy was included...
@@jhvnhjifgvbv8126 I havent been to other kickboxing gyms but the rules are set as far as i know,....im confused please explain

"My belt holds guns...so". Probably the best thing I've ever watched. I was dying
3:05 "I got my black belt in three years"
Lol true, pretty much all my friends that takes taekwondo class got their black belts even before middle school
Kalaripayattu: were the oldest martial art
pankration: no im pretty sure we are
Boxing:.....WHEN WAS PUNCHING INVENTED
😂😂
Wrestling is older than boxing,
Hummans are made to wrestle thats why they dont have all their knuckles hard(you can easily break you hand by punching with the wrong part of the knuckle) while hummans are more efficent for wrestling
@@kayragur3542
True but who’s thinking that thousands of years ago?

Muay Thai: Nah, bambo attacked us with fire. In the middle of the night...
Karate: Right...

It's all just Judo dude. You can't just slap Portuguese words on it and it becomes different. The main difference are the rules to the sport. With Judo having the better ruleset.
