I have a metal arch. The metal is round, and i made up a rectangle oasis foam in a cage prior to attaching it. It has to ends to pit cabke ties through. I tried to attach a full oasis to the metal frame, but the oasis slightly swivelled and face down rather than out. I didn't use cable ties as i didn't have any, but I used garden string. Would cable ties be better and stop the swivel? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Btw im using silk flowers and pampas grass.
Do you have any trouble with the oasis blocks dripping or losing water and getting the fabric wet? Thank you for the video it was helpful and it is beautiful
How do you keep the hydrangeas hydrated long enough for the wedding to get underway? Do they do well in that foam? I have an arch that will be in full sun for a couple hours.
@@annamagga5125 nice thank you! I did a test before hand on our hottest days and they were fine. Just made sure they were hydrated ahead of time and then the foam. Worked perfectly! They outlasted some of the more resistant things.
@@joshouaroonshin9649 It's just that some brides will freak over exposed oasis, so she's probably talking about covering the tiny gaps with gyp or alstros, that's all. Your arrangement is lovely just the way it is.
I thought the same thing. First, the video was done well and using zip ties. I like the colors too. I worked for the biggest wedding and event group in the US and if I had all those exposed areas, I would have been fired! I do not think people want to make rude comments, we want you to do better.
Same... It was a bit of a let down tbh... I'm in the floral industry aswell, I love watching other Florists doing their thing. But honestly, one of the rules when working with mechanics, is to "always hide your mechanics". However, OASIS did come out with midnight Black Oasis foam that is made specifically for this. So you don't use as much greenery and because the foam is black, you can't really tell as much when you don't "hide" the foam completely. I love that stuff! And you can literally use a foam cube of it, and make an arrangement right on it... it doesn't even look bad at all... (I don't work for them, just love the back foam too much 🤪)
Yaremi Koopot Usually I will soak the oasis about five minutes when they completely change the color from dry to wet I will take it out ,Is depends when you going to use it sometime I will soak it overnight in the cold water put it in the flowers Refrigerator until I need to use it!
@@DonaldYimAIFD Hi there- would you be able to soak it and leave with flowers in it overnight before zip tying to archway? Trying to figure out how to save time morning of wedding. thanks!!
@@alyciaparrish5907 Definitely you can do that but make sure you keep it in cool area if you have a cooler that will be the best but make sure you spray crowing glory from Florallife to keep it fresh
Kathy Laub You can but it would be a waste of money. Fake flowers don’t need water so you could use a pool tube or foam block for those and they are cheaper. These cages are for the floral foam that can soak water for real flowers
How far in advance can you do this? If done day before wedding - say late afternoon then cover with protective plastic ?? Or is this a day of event thing ?
Pardon my ignorance, but is it possible to put the flowers in the boxes on a table first, then attach them when decorated? I'm decorating my own arch for our Wedding and I was just wondering whether it's easier to do this? Thank you xx
This is the worst way to do an arrangement. You should always do ALL of the "greening" first! When you green first, you will use less of the expensive flowers, and have a much more beautiful & professional looking arrangement.
the arrangement of the leaves and flowers is beautiful, simple but charming
Hi for a first timer, using artificial flowers and leaves, is Pool noodle better or dry florist foam for the arch?
I love that you put the names of the flowers and greeneries very helpful. Thanks so much
Bendiciones tu creatividad es hermosa me encanto muy original Exito
Beautiful, do you have any tips so the water doesn’t lick?
I prefere to put the flowers and leaf on a work table because some times drop water, and then lock the cage
omg thank you i was wondering how i was goint to decorate the arch xoxo from puerto rico

I have that problem. Especially when I use the zip ties around the cage.

My hydrangeas last almost two weeks in the watered cube.

HOLA, OYE PERO NO SE MOJA LA TELA POR QUE EL OASIS DEBE IR HÚMEDO PARA QUE DUREN LA FLORES NATURALES NO?
Should I buy the same kind of foam if I attach it with metal arch ?
Hi, yes that same foam will work on a metal arch.
super Amazing decorate wonderful I am Indian decorator you I like it decorate flowers
If you are using faux flowers do you use the same foam cages? Thanks!

Thank you so much for that info and taking the time to reply! I so appreciate it!
No problem, your so very welcomed
Is it possible to pre-arrange these flowers and just attach with zip tie on the day of event?
You can with greenery, what I do is use oasis flower glue to glue the stem into the foam to keep it from falling and browning.
What fabric did you use
Como se llaman los cuadros verdes donde va el follaje y donde los consigo asi en esas bases aqui en Monterrey N. L México
