Creative and inspiring! Heres my plan: Boiling water, hops in a bag steep for 10 min for bittering, remove those hops, then add DME and shake, figure that drops the temp to ?170, then throw in more hops (more like a whirlpool or actually a dip hop if you leave em in.) for 0 more minutes. Figure that drop it to 150F. The Steep some oats for more mouthfeel and remove with bag. Then add the cold water to chill.
I have a brew kettle with a spigot on it and ferment in a plastic bucket. Could I do this by doing a gallon of boiling water, adding my DME, and hops. Taking off the flame. Adding two gallons of cold water to crash the temp and put it in my fermenter?
I did something similar for my first use of DME, but I made a Hop Tea first with the usual boil schedule. I put the DME in my carboy and put the tea on top - this helped keep everything stick-free and I could make sure everything was dissolved - just kinda shook it back and forth on my carpet cause it was hot and heavy. I wanted to go the easy route cause I'm trying out putting it right into a 'dirty keg' as a experiment. I've never had a blow out on a pressure fermentation before, and it was up at 20+ PSI! Thanks for the idea, Dr!
Inspired by this, I did this exact brew yesterday. Although in 19ltr Cornelis keg. Did consider to make some additions to the water profile, but just went for it. Dry hoping tomorrow and ramp up to 25C. Will be interested to see how it goes. Wondered if you ever scaled this up or considered addition of other types of hops?
Cool, hope it turns out great. This beer was the first time I brewed. But it will scale just fine. You could mix any hops you would like, like Mosaic, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe for example. Let me know how it turns put for you, cheers!
@@DrHansBrewery Results in. Checked also with my beer buddy and top marks. A few bits floating from the zest but what a result. Great smell, light and full body. Amazed such a simple brew could give such a result. Will be scaling this one up for the summer. One for the BBQ season. PS Did have slight blockage of the floating tube at the start, but just added some pressure 20PSI of CO2 and cleared it.
En fråga till doktorn! Hur ska man tänka med torrhumlingen och tid? Låter du den bara vara och om isåfall, hur tycker du smaken förändras med tiden? Är det en märkbar skillnad efter en vecka eller två? Allt gott, Keep rockin'!
yes, i'm also curious about the bottom slurry. I'm trying to order an BEER FILTER for the keg, but there is none on stock for weeks. I would try without it, but I'm afraid the hops will clog the lines.
@@DrHansBrewery yes, i saw that video, and i’m trying to buy that filter you use …. Nowhere in stock. Cask official shop is not sending internationally from what i can see.

Where do you get your mini kegs? I only see 1 gallon versions and half gallon versions on Amazon.
This is such an awesome and resource saving idea haha. Did you adjust the water chem at all?
It's really cool. No I didn't

Gotta love the (beer) pimp-vibe in this clip! 10/10

I dont understand what you do with the bottom slurry with hop to not clogged the dip tube?

I use a filter, check one of the other Shake N Brew videos were I didn't loose so much footage as with this one :D

Beräknat IBU är 50 enligt videon
Va kan man köpa extraktet i pulver form som du använder
Tror alla bryggbutiker har DME, kallad spraymalt på svenska.
Nice
Thanks!
