What a cool video, Jesse. The K-MAX is such an impressive heavy-lift helicopter. It is capable of lifting over 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg) with its twin intermeshing rotors. The K-MAX is an incredible machine and it is amazing what it can do.
Thanks so much Matt! I was so happy to finally get footage of a K-Max, I saw this exact one in Nelson five years ago but never managed to get a video of it. They really are impressive heavy lifters, and I love the unique design.
You must be thinking of a different helicopter. The K-MAX says right on the helicopter "Maximum External Load 6000 lbs." For a brief overview see the video over on Vimeo titled Flight Test: Kaman K-MAX
@@jameschristiansson3137 Yes, you are right. Thanks for the info. I have just corrected the numbers. It is actually the unmanned K-Max helicopter which can lift more than 24,000 pounds of water onto a fire within one hour. The helicopter is often used for fire fighting and or other high-risk missions. The unmanned or pilot optional version lowers the risk for personnel.
So awesome you caught one of these very rare for me to catch in my area, I think these are so unique looking. So Cool I think this pilot was giving you some great video opportunity to catch some great footage.
Thanks so much Ed! I've been wanting to film a K-Max for so long, and am glad I finally ticked it off. This exact helicopter was actually here 5 years ago, and I got a couple pictures of it but missed it flying. So glad I got it this time!
This is so cool! May I feature this engine startup in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you and happy 2024! 🎉
Spectacular video my friend! That is one very unique Helicopter! I must say thanks for sharing this outstanding content. You and Matt really inspire me to do more and become like you guys! It seems like I’m already beginning to gain my goal as I am at 1 thousand one hundred subscribers. Thanks to you! If I hadn’t seen your channels I would never have gotten the courage to create a UA-cam channel. Thank you again for your amazing work. I hope one day you reach all of your goals and live your life as happy as can be! Have a great day!
I'm really happy to hear that, it means a lot that this channel has helped inspire you to start yours! And Matt has some of my favourite content, lots of great catches from Bern with nice scenery too (and he's just a nice guy too!) Keep up the great work with your channel, it's always fun to see them grow. And thanks, I hope you reach all your goals and achieve happiness as well 😃👍
I will also give you a shoutout! And also can you do a favor, my friend wants to quit UA-cam because he thinks he is terrible at making videos and he’s stupid. I feel terrible that he always feels like that. Can you give him a shoutout by any chance? I’m telling ya he would be the happiest he’s ever been ever! Once again I hope the words really made you happy and I’m glad I made your day :)
The aerodynamics of a common helicopter is already very curious how it works, imagine this different model and with the main blades passing so close to each other! the model also does not have a spray rotor, very interesting, thanks for bringing these videos to us.
That's so true, I love the unique design of the K-Max! I was so happy to get some footage of this one, I've wanted to film one for a long time. Thanks my friend!
Amazing footage my friend! I wish I could see this type of helicopter in person! It was amusing to see that this K-Max had two eyes stickers in the cockpit! :D Thumbs up my friend ;)
It was so great to get a shot of this K-Max, such an awesome helicopter and I've wanted to film one for so long. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching!
Thanks! This was definitely one of my favourite catches of the summer, I love the unique K-Max. Haha ya, luckily I did remember to take earplugs this day!
It is great to hear the turbos! No, it looks like there isn't much cargo space at all onboard. This one is mainly used for heavy lifting (helicopters-logging and wildfire fighting).
I find this type of twin rotor kind of unsettling! When they touch each other, then RIP. I know usually this can't happen, but we all know Murphy's law....
Such a beautiful machine, looks like a dragonfly with those twin rotors.
I love the unique design of the K-Max, one awesome helicopter.
I have had one working behind our home for the last week or so....... super cool bird.👍👍
They are super cool helicopters, love their unique design!
I just love these rare birds. It looks so strange but I love it! Epic Catch!
Really nice video mate, for sure a different helicopter for me!
Thanks Pedro, this one was so cool to see. A type I've wanted to film for a long time!
@@TheHDAviation Nice 😁😁
Fantastic close up show and sound of the unique K-Max, Jesse 😍
Thanks so much for upload and from me double thumbs up, my friend 👍 👍
Thanks so much Volker, I really appreciate it! This K-Max was awesome to see, I've wanted to film one of these unique helicopters for so long.

Might I ask what kind of camera you use?
Ya, for sure. I use the Panasonic VX870.

I was feeling kinda down till I saw this. Not only is it a kmax but it's a video by you OF a kmax! Can't get any better...

some one got to explain to me how those blades work lol awesome video :) !!!
Amazing video! Those rotor blades always fascinate me, and I hope you had earplugs while filming this!
Thanks! This was definitely one of my favourite catches of the summer, I love the unique K-Max. Haha ya, luckily I did remember to take earplugs this day!
The Kmax is surprisingly quiet...our 206 is louder. The Kmax is more of a whomp whoop sound
Like to hear the turbos winning UP! Not much on cargo space?
It is great to hear the turbos! No, it looks like there isn't much cargo space at all onboard. This one is mainly used for heavy lifting (helicopters-logging and wildfire fighting).
Trying to guess the aircraft type that was running up at the end of the video? A bit of torture not being able to see it 😅
Haha I always hate that too! It was a nice red AS350, unfortunately I didn't get the reg. of it though.
@@TheHDAviation was it C-FXAI the kvh one?
It's the helicopter featured in the video!
Excelente video saludos 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Is it me, or this machine has very low rotor rpm, but because of a pair of blades it lifts of pretty easily?
Sensacional.
nice

Have you ever looked at something and just say “why?”
Haha totally. The K-Max and the Ka-32 really make me wonder why. I love them though!
With the external seat I can go for a ride...
Just hop on one of the main gear and hang on!
Sounds like a train at 6:15
