    @amordemadre maybe we can all compromise and say its an element of Cuban culture that has its roots in an African culture (Yoruba) How about that?

    your opinion i would say and you are definitely entitled to it.
    it is Cuban but my point is that it originates from the west-african yoruba tribe and i don't know why you have a problem with that. i see absolutely nothing spanish about this apart froma few words which does not comprise of the music.

    is not the yoruba culture of west africa , it comes from an evolution from yoruba culture mixed with the spanish culture , maybe looks like it , but remember is not african culture , IT IS CUBAN CULTURE
