Thank you, Rabbi Weisblum, for your message to the Jewish people. Certainly, we have all grieved and have suffered from our losses; but, if we have learnt nothing else from the Jews, it is that of their great joy, their inner strength and resilience, and their courage to move forward into the night amidst the darkness of despair, and to rebuild their lives in love and hope, and as light bearers of this world. Kind regards.
Thank you, Rabbi. I am writing from Yerushalaim. For the last 17 years I haven't been able to go to shul on Tisha b'Av. First, my son was too young. Then, at age 4 1/2, he had a major stroke. Lost all his abilities except hearing. Last night, he and I listened to your beautiful reading filled with your genuine feeling for klal Yisroel. May we see Geula soon, and hear only happy words. Please, everyone, daven for my son Elazar Shimon ben Sarah and all the cholim among our people.
It's been 10 years since this video was posted and B'H, Rabbi Weisblum’s wisdom and knowledge goes through time and keep changing lives! Beautiful Reading! Yasher koach!
I am an observant orthodox Jew in a place where I am the only Jew in a small texas town. I have used your channel as a chavrusah before when I cant get to New York. I travel 2 hours to buy milk and meat once a month. Parve I can get at local stores. I bless you from my heart with everything good
I was unable to get to shul and only able to read Eicha in an English Tanakh. Your spiritually soulful chanting transported me beyond time and space - all the way to Yerushalaim. Yasher Koach.
I am not a Jew, nor do I speak the language of the Old Testament. But, Jeremiah is so close to all God loving people, that I was reading the Lamentations in English while listening to the rabbi's singing. I felt a bond with all those people, who suffered during 2600 years since the prophet wept over the suffering of his people while watching his beloved city being destroyed. How many times this scene was repeated, how many tears, how much blood has been shed! God have mercy on us sinners, as I am afraid, we have not learnt that God will not be mocked. Shalom..................
Rabbi Weisblum, a leading intellectual and a powerful voice for Judaism today brings his original insights on leadership moving through his numerous insightful shiurim and books. His books Table Talk and Ruth Talk are brilliant. What a delight! Highly readable and fascinating. After reading his books, I have seen leadership in a fresh perspective about Kabbalah and Judaism. Unless G-d and His Word are at the center of a leader's life coupled with lots of reading, discussion, delegation and sensitivity to history and people and of course character, the leader will dash into the rocks of reality. Read his books to learn how all of this plays out. Must have. Wish one day we meet. Thank you!!! Nadav from Melbourne, Australia
Todah raba, Rav (Rebbe) Weisblum. The nusach of Aicha is, indeed, sad, but also healing and gives us strength in hard times especially to move on. Y'varech'cha Hashem V'Yeesh'mrecha!
Rav Weisblum, this is the 3rd or 4th year that I am sitting alone at home, reading Eicha while my phone is propped up on my table shtender, playing your emotionally moving reading of this Megilah on Tisha b'Av. Since my husband passed away in 2015,I have not gone to shul every Tisha b'Av, preferring to read it to myself while listening to your beautiful rendition as I follow along. This year 5783 (2023), is a special year and new beginning for me; firstly, I read the comments for the first time. Do you have any idea how many of Am Yisrael you have touched by this reading of Eicha? You have, by chanting difficult to hear, descriptive words so beautifully, with empathy, emphasized the enormity and horror of the destruction of both Batei Mikdash and have brought the distant 2,000+ year old tragedy of Am Yisrael into the present for us to connect to, and for us to realize why we are still here, and (hopefully) what we still need to do. The 2nd reason this is a very special year for me, is that my 'home' is now in Eretz Yisrael - I made Aliyah last summer! This is actually my second Tisha b'Av in my Israeli apartment. This year especially, with the seemingly great division of our people over differences regarding the government and Judicial Reform, we need - more than ever - to know why the Jewish Nation is here in Eretz Yisrael, our purpose and the direction in which we have to go. Thank you for your dedication of the reading to the elderly Jew in the nursing home, and for the 'reminder' that we need to work towards the goal of rebuilding the Beit HaMikdash, our Holy Temple, Amen.
I appreciate your kind words. May this year be the last year of mourning. Our Creator ensured that every single one of us has what to offer, and that we all have a purpose. Consequently, no one is worthy of hate, and everyone has a role to fill in this world. When we come to realize this, and when we give one another the space and the allowance to fulfill our Creator -given potential, we begin to truly rectify the mistakes of our past. May our behavior towards one another this ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av be a tikkun - correction - for times past and may we merit seeing the arrival of the Tikkun Olam - for a better world around all of us. Until then, may our efforts to be better cause a ripple effect that manifests itself visibly in this world, causing not destruction but renewal and sanctification in its wake.
Thanks Rabbi Weisblum! i live in Israel and stay home with my little one and cannot attend shul for this good reason, so i was relived to find your video so i can listen to while reading from Eicha. thanks again and yesher koach! Esther-
Thank you so much for making it possible for me to hear a reading despite logistical issues, and to let my daughter hear as much as she could and then go to sleep without troubling anyone. May we soon merit to see Jerusalem rebuilt!!
Well, until we have a third Beit Hamikdash (speedily, and in our days!), we at least can offer our words instead of the animal sacrifices. This makes me want to be more frum, or at least daven more often. How beautiful that you share with your daughter. :)
Good Reading ! Appreciate the service ! With lockdown in my part of the world to hear this heartfelt reading in the comfort of home was greatly appreciated ! G-D bless you ! May the Geulah be expedited with the celebration of the Beth Mikdash soon in our days Amen !
wow again wow .your lovely, lovely kindness to that shut-in in the nursing home is what true religion is all about . how we forget those who smoulder in desperation in all our nursing homes. to me the third chapter shows us the secret heart of God :He does not willingly afflict man , His heart is not in it as it is when He shows mercy , the very thing that He delights in
A woman I met today is a hospice worker, and a Reformed Jew married to a very nice Catholic man. I reminded her about Tisha B'Av, and gave her the information to get to this video in case any of the people who she takes care of are Jewish and might be interested in hearing this haunting and heartfelt Eichah, with its amazing and touching introduction. "I throw myself [at your feet, begging you to chant Eichah and put it on UA-cam." I wonder what my grandmother, Solomea Gemeiner (z''l), who lived out the War in a Displaced Persons camp in Soviet Siberia, and 80% of whose family were all burned at Auschwitz, would have thought if we had shown her this on her deathbed ten years ago. Tears well up. Thank you, Rabbi, and thank you to all who have shared here. "May we be renewed, as of old." "Chadeysh yameynu, ki kedem."
what a beautiful statement, titicoqui. "For He is merciful, and frequently does not send down his entire rage" is the bit I understand from the phrase "v'hu rachum yichapeyr a'ohn v'lo yashcheet; v'heerbah hasheev apoh v'lo yaeer kol hamatoh -- HASHEM hoshea hamelech yaneynu, b'yom koreynu." My G-d, the Savior (?), the King, answer us, on the day that we call." I wish my Hebrew were stronger.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to hear your fine voice read Eicha. In 2008 I made aliyah to Jerusalem. I live near the Tayelet, where on erev Tisha B'Av my synagogue reads Eicha. It is the most awesome experience to sit outside on the steps and hear about the destruction of the city while looking out at the walls of Jerusalem. This year, at age 93, I lack the strength to participate at the Tayelet. Thanks to your UA-cam presentation, I can fulfill the obligation to read Eicha. Yasher Koach.
Thank you Rabbi Weisblum; I am studying Jeremiah and the book of lamentations for my theology course. It is a shame to me that I do not speak or read Hebrew, and yet it is powerful to hear God’s Word in the language in which it was initially expressed.
SHALOM ALEJEM AMADO RABBI MOSHE WEISBLUM.TODA POR SUS VÍDEOS. QUE HASHEM LE BENDIGA ETERNAMENTE ASÍ COMO A TODO NUESTRO PUEBLO JUDÍO ISRAEL. QUE HASHEM NOS APARTE DE TODAS LAS LAMENTACIONES HABITEN EN PAZ NUESTROS CORAZONES Y PODAMOS CANTAR TODOS JUNTOS EN JERUSALÉN. QUE LA PAZ SEA ETERNA SHALOM.
This is my second year listening to your version of Eicha. I too had a hard time finding the complete Eicha online. You have performed a Mitzvah. It is wonderful to listen to your beautiful clear voice and I thank you so much!!
Thank you so much. I was unable to make it to shul to hear Eicha and your clear and powerful reading was beautiful and gave me the opportunity to hear Eicha. Thank you.
I have listened to this for several years since I have young children and cannot get to shul. I am very grateful to have such a beautiful and clear reading to follow along with. Thank you so much.
This year with Corona, people can't go to shul and it really helped to have this! Yasher Koach Rabbi Weisblum, may you be zoche to sing in the third beit hamikdash!
Due to the corona virus I stayed home. I found u on my phone. Your pace of reading was outstanding and clear I was able to follow every single word May hashem bless you in all your endeavors. Ty
Thank you very much for reading the entire meguila. I am well and healthy, but I cannot get to the Shle to hear the meguila in the morning. may Hashem bless you!
Rabbi Weisblum, your intention and reading stirred my heart. May 5777 be the last year we must observe Tisha B'av l may Hashem redeem us, swiftly, today, in mercy
Thank you Rabbi. I haven't been able to go to shul because my abusive ex goes there and i fear for my safety and being able to observe tisha b'av means a lot to me. I appreciate the beautiful reading. Thank you for helping me have what i cannot where i live
Thank you for the most amazing reading- Yasher Koach. Unfortunately I have shingles & thought that I would not be able to hear Eicha due to my illness- this would have been the 1st time in my life-not to have heard it. Thanks to you for allowing me to fulfill this mitzvah.
Thank you so much for this! It was perfect because Eicha is read so late at night. I couldn't take my children to shul. This was a great experience for me. I watched it on the floor with my 9 year old :) Hashem should bless you for dedicating this to someone in a nursing home. My grandfather was just niftar this past week and was in and out of hospitals for 9 months so this really warmed my heart.
Amazing, 1 year later I'm listening to this again. Thank you again. I'm still a mommy with a little one B"h and I can't take her to shul so late :) Have an easy fast everyone!
Thank you Rabbi Weisblum for this soulful, beautiful, slow reading of Eicha-allowing me to follow along in Hebrew. So often those who are Ba'al Tefillah sing fast, you provide an encouragement to join in, and that is much appreciated!
Thank we so much for reading it and taping the Meguilah. I have a very hard time getting to shule, it{s quite far from where I live. Thank You again, may this year see Yemei Mashiach.
Rabbi, thank you so much for your utube reading of Eicha. Such a beautiful soulful reading so grateful 🙏Thank You May this be the last Tisha B’Av we fast on!
when i first saw this page i thought how awful he is not anticipating not needing to read as we expect mashiach to arrive and spare us another moment of sadness but then i listened to your explanation and i am overwhelmed with the beauty of your chessed. may yo be blessed
Chayah ,We do not suspend the Torah , when moshiach comes Eliyahu will announce him.The mesorah and the Torah do NOT change, We read Eicha until Hashem himself through moshiach dictates otherwise.
This is exactly me. Alone and forgotten by my family in a nursing home. Can't go to shul. Thankyou,so much, Rabbi. May this be the last year of having to read this very very sad book.
Thank you. I have an extreme visual processing issue so however hard I struggle actually being able to read Hebrew has thus far been impossible. I have an excellent auditory memory so by listening to it in advance I hope to be able to participate at shul. Sometimes I am unable to get out and so efforts like yours really help.
Please share the video and the Mitzvah of watching the Megilah. Many peoplearound he world are not able to perform the Mitzvah for various reasons. By sharing the video, you will help them do a Mitzvah and partake in a mitzvah of helping others.
Wow, yes yes yes! Is there a Talmud reference on doing this kind of mitzvah, the mitzvah of helping others to feel? And are there poskim on what is permissible on UA-cam? I always wonder what is proper to put on a computer, because a computer has so many different things on it and also you don't know who is watching and whether they are Jewish and if so what kind of tradition and level of observance they follow. I'm Conservative, so I like to "come across" to as many people as possible. Rabbi? (Sorry to make so many comments, Rabbi.)
You are most welcome. Praying and wishing good news soon for you and yours.

Thank you. I have an extreme visual processing issue so however hard I struggle actually being able to read Hebrew has thus far been impossible. I have an excellent auditory memory so by listening to it in advance I hope to be able to participate at shul.
Sometimes I am unable to get out and so efforts like yours really help.
Thank you

Thank you. Please share with family and friends so they can enjoy too
Please share the video and the Mitzvah of watching the Megilah. Many peoplearound he world are not able to perform the Mitzvah for various reasons. By sharing the video,
you will help them do a Mitzvah and partake in a mitzvah of helping others.
❤
Abi Levitt
