Great review, it finally made the decision to buy the shoes and thanks for the discount code, I used it to order the Tracker Textil for myself. I'm really looking forward to it. Greetings from the south of Germany
This looks a good boot. Why didn’t you test it actually outside in the natural elements, hiking on different terrain, walking through the wet etc? It’s a hiking boot - that’s the environment potential buyers are interested seeing how it performs in. The smoke test is pointless for an outdoor boot! Comparing the weight of the boot to other leisurewear is irrelevant data - like comparing apples and oranges. Instead its weight should be compared to other brand hiking boots (and we know as it’s barefoot, it will win on lightness) 🙂
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment....I complete lifestyle shoe reviews, what they look like, how comfy they are etc and I take on board your comments but I did mention in tried them out on different terrains, and the smoke test has in the past shown weak points in a shoes waterproofing - so this is why I do it even on waterproof shoes. I compared these boots to the shoes in terms of their weight as I think it's important to show that they aren't that much heavier than sneakers people may be wearing, and therefore lighter than people may expect :) I enjoy reviewing shoes in this format, it might not be for everyone and there are things I could improve for sure, but hopefully this has offered some insight into the boots and why I liked them so much - as stated in the video they are not a traditional hiking boot, so should they even be compared to other high boots when they are so different and in my opinion so much better than a traditional hiking boot :)
Are you having problems with the new rubber peice that goes farther up the boot, separating from the boot? I've worn mine twice, and it's already coming apart.
I am - the first were returned as the glue started to let go after 25 miles and the second pair are doing the same with a similar mileage. They clearly have a design flaw. It’s a shame as otherwise they’re great and not sure whether to return again and get a refund or try glueing back. It’s not good enough though
Thank you for the great review. I'm trying to decide between the the tracker and the gobi hiber for my winter boot. The tracker looks like it's got a better tread for traction and some hiking but the gobi hiber looks much warmer. My winters have a lot of snow but not much rain. From May to October, I exclusively wear sandals. I do light hiking in the winter, when weather allows. Any thoughts on which way I should go, Tracker or Gobi Hiber?
Thanks 🙏 I prefer the Gobi Hiber as a boot overall as I will get more use out of them as an everyday winter boot and more of a lifestyle / town boot than the trackers, but I haven't yet worn them in heavy rain so I don't yet know how water resistant they are. The trackers are an excellent boot for slightly rougher terrain and wet days though. 🐄
@@HokanaMatata Thank you! What about traction on snow/ice? I guess I could use traction devices in those situations. Is the sizing true to form? The company told me to size down. How's the toe-box?
@@joelhorlen20-zk3xr Sorry I don’t own these 😁 It was just my own opinion after being a barefoot shoes nerd for years and a lot of experience with other vivo boots. I would have picked the hiber personally. But it is more of a lifestyle boot for casual. The grip on snow and mud is obviously going go be better with the trackers because they are made for that. I’ve seen people having outsole separation issues with them already because it’s still a glued sole so I wouldn’t buy them. Had many issues with their previous tracker fg. Had to send back two pairs because of sole separation. You can order both and send one pair back under the 100 day trial😉 I found the regular gobi boot very roomy when I tried them on and the hiber is probably built on the same last. People don’t seem to size down with the hiber from what I have seen though. Good luck in your decision👍
Did you actually went on a hike with these shoes? I've seen reviews where the shoes started to fall apart after the first hike. Also there is no sidewall stitching.
I have been yea, on a few now, and I have had no issues with them at all, they do have a 100 day returns policy, and also I am sure all shoes come with a guarantee, but you may want to check this 🐄
these boots are a joke. i have owned them just over 1 month. they are not waterproof at all (im only walking through wet grass!!), then laces started to break. i tested them in about 1.5 inches of water, my feet were wet in less than 1 minute. how can they be breathable and waterproof???
I really enjoy them on a hike, I find the flexibility and low weight refreshing, and I have no rubbing with these, which I find I get with a standard hiking boot 🐄
@@cowfreekicks I'm happy for you! However, there is a group of barefooters for whom this is not the case and who need more stack height. I am one of them and I know from various sources that I am not the only one. What does “more stack height” mean: in my case around 10mm. Others even need around 15mm. Everything else remains the same: wide toe box, zero drop, flexibility etc.
Thanks for another great review!
Nice looking boots. Gonna see about getting a pair for my guy. Thanks!
Thanks for the review and your code! Code worked just fine here in Germany :)
You're welcome and thanks 🐄

Gently popping them up and down on the edge of the back doorstep- wow! That’s really putting it through its paces, man! 😂
Thanks 🐄
Thanks, you helped me a lot.
Your welcome 🐄
How fitting..the Vivo boot is just as beefy as the Nike Air Revolution. I like it.

I haven't no, but I would return them as soon as possible, they have a 100 day returns period I believe if you are not happy with the product 🐄

Would you recommend these to be effective inside of a gym for weight lifting?
I would say no as they have a raised outsole, with a hiking tread, most likely need something flat - ViVOBAREFOOT do have shoes made for lifting 🐄
Do they have breathable membrane like the forest tracker esc

Go for the hiber. Stitched sole and looks better. More ground feel. They work well for simple hikes. I wouldn’t jump in puddles though.

Yep, the glue starts to fail with less than 30 miles use. On a second pair doing this so there’s a design flaw.

Hi, I have just contacted VIVOBAREFOOT and I will let you know when the code is back up, I am not sure why though 🐄
Working again 🎉🐄
This is a good review, though for lots of peeps out there - even seasoned barefooters - the stack height is much too minimal for serious hiking.

Do you have an recommend hiking boots like these? @@aurelgergey5470
Will it handle the cold?
They do for me, thick socks helps 🐄
Now if they could just make enough of a shoe to keep them in stock for more than a few hours, lol.
The code doesn’t work
It's does :) the bag should refresh once you add COW20 (cowtwenty) before you check out :) it won't work on sale items though 🐄
