    I've used both rapier (9) and EB (5), so my thoughts as follows:
    the EB method (I personally prefer the 2nd), works, there is zero doubt. I was a faithful rapier user for thousands of games, but using basic balls on T10, i was finding myself in max wedge range with high winds a lot, and was having a really hard time finding accurate adjustments for rapier using traditional elevation/slider methods. switched to EB, applied the method, had immediate positive results...so i rode with EB for a while. For whatever reason, i started to have issues hitting perfect with it, so even though the adjustment was (i assume) correct, i was missing those max chips...but the bigger issue was, at level 5, it lacks topspin, so on those close range chips where you just want to max out the TS and make life simple, it wasn't as reliable as rapier. so, i went back to rapier, but applied the same EB method to chips that were at or greater than 50% club distance. the method works for rapier just fine, which makes sense, since the primary adjustment stats (power & accuracy) are virtually identical). this way, i get the reliability of the EB method for long range chips using the rapier, but the short range chips i can now use the topspin to spin it to the hole and get under the wind. i've also been hitting perfect with rapier at a significantly higher rate...that might just be in my head, but there are def clubs that are easier to find perfect with, and - at least for me - EB might be one. i'm close to getting it to 6, but among all epics, the move from 5 to 6 on the EB might be the least impactful - only bump is slight bit of power and more backspin, which is virtually never used. so i'll probably stick with rapier, but apply the EB method.

      @trevorloyd same here…I’m even at 6 EB and still think Rapier9 is better due to topspin. But when you say u use rapier w/EB method, which EB method are you talking about, this videos 1st or 2nd (spin vs no spin)? All this video did was push me away from EB bcuz his examples would’ve dropped with a wide variety of adjustments

    • @JTMagXX
      @JTMagXX 4 місяці тому

      My bad, you answered my question by saying the 2nd method. So does that mean you used the EB no spin method on rapier shots with spin?

    • @trevorlloyd9202
      @trevorlloyd9202 4 місяці тому

      @@JTMagXX this is pretty old, i switched to eb full time once it got to 7, it's now maxed on my main acct and at 7 on my alt. at the time i wrote that, i would use the eb no-spin method with rapier if it was at 50% or more to the pin, and full topspin if it was close. i honestly don't remember, but i assume i was just offsetting somewhat for those full TS shots. there is a more reliable adjustment for full TS shots, it's the same basic idea as the no spin method, but you apply -35% elevation instead of +20%.

    you forgot one thing: the eb is an epic, the rapier a rare club, so people most likely have a rapier; distance means nothing to a wedge; better to adjust with short iron min distance than wedge max distance
    you also forgot the Topspin; even with a low level rapier you can put on huge ts what makes it a lot easier to adjust for;
    so for about 80%? of people rapier is the choice unless you got an eb almost maxed out

      @@JaredAGolf I never knew any of this at all and I still chose to use the engbringer with 70% accuracy you can't go to far wrong. It does seem that the furthest I am away the harder it gets to sink the ball in the cup.. So what I'm taking from this video is that if I stretch my guideline to 100%, then where ever the pin is that's my percentage that I'm looking for roughly right?
      So once I make a rough percentage from where the pin is at, I move my percentage dial to the number of percentage that I've found and then type in my ring numbers.. And also use 20% elevation if that makes sense.. If I get this to work for me you will have helped to change my game and also help me get further up in tournaments. I was using the rotation technique along with the ring system but I switched back to just using eye judgement and the rings leaving out the rotation.. I just find with the rotation that you can't see where your guideline moves to once you start the rotation process and then you have to take the shot not knowing if your guidance is off or on target.. Have you any tips on using the rotation ring system to help me be more accurate?

    • @JaredAGolf
      @JaredAGolf  4 роки тому

    • @dfstarborn
      @dfstarborn 4 роки тому

      ~The negative about the accurate clubs is that the rings are much thinner so it's harder to be more accurate when you try to rotate and adjust your rings.. You need thin fingers lol.. I find the endbringer very good but it's hard once the winds go up so all I can do is add topspin so that the target ring will become smaller which makes it more accurate. The rapier has crap accuracy even at grade 5 and it's very expensive.. The epics are a joke as I've got about two thors hammer cards in about the space of two months.. I just got the Apoc after playing the game for about 8 months so I'll be waiting forever to get that to grade 5 which is where it hits the 140 yard mark.

It was as good or better than the rapier which has always been 3-4 levels ahead of the EB. It’s awesome that I got on today and played few games. I opened my chests and there were the cards to level up my EB to level 5. I get on the tube for golden shot guide and see your tutorial. The debate is over for now at least. • @JaredAGolf
      @JaredAGolf  4 роки тому

      The "slider" is the feature on the clash caddie or golf clash notebook app. It is the percentage of the club that you are aiming your club at. So if you stretch your target out to max, determine what percentage club the pin is located and type that number into the slider section of the app.

Now say you have a 4.5mph wind and distance to PIN is 10%, the adjustment according to this method would be 0,48 Rings. This is where I get confused. The wind is 4.5mph so adjusting in min distance would require an adjustment of 1 Ring which is MORE than the adjustment in 10% distance? Would you suggest to go with the 0.48 Rings as calculated in accordance with the method (Notebook adjustments for 10% distance * 1.2) or with about 1.3 Rings (=(min distance adjustment + 10%*(mid adjustment - min adjustment))*1.2)?

I really want to practice the last technique in this video as it seems the easiest to understand given the allotted time that's given during the game to take the shot..

      No it wont work with all wedges. Yes with the Endbringer we always use 20% elevation as a base, because the rings on the Endbringer even though the accuracy is 95 or 100 are actually smaller than even a true 100% accuracy club. Which is why with a level 4 and under I only recommend 15% because the rings are slightly bigger. The 20% elevation is what you put into your caddie app to calculate your adjustment.

      @@JaredAGolf Sorry about the delay as I must have missed the notification to say you replied. I just tried the endbring rule at 15% and I sunk 3 out of 6 which isn't bad. I practiced on tour 1 just to get my speed up in regards to setting. You need to be fast on tour 1 because the needle is very slow but that doesn't matter as at least it allows me to get used to the set up. One shot I missed seemed up hill so I put the elevation at 10% but it came up short of the hole. The next time I tried 15% and it went in so that's a bit strange. I do realize that the EB 4 isn't as accurate as grade 5 and I'm not to far away needing only about 14 cards. I'll have to try out both methods as they'll come in handy when closer to the hole in high winds. I supposed with practice I'll speed up, but I guess nerves are involved and maybe trying to be to perfect slows me down right now. Have you any tips for the Spitfire at grade 4 as it hasn't the best guideline and I'm only using it because it comes in handy for the par 4's and 5s on t9. Thanks for your response and again, sorry for the delay with response. You've got a lot of admirers out there and It'sRJtv is one of them as he mentions you for every EB shot he makes lol.

      Always use the power of the ball in app that you are using. At 11:30 adjustment would have been 50% slider, plus 20% elevation with a power 1 ball gives me 3.5 rings.

      @@mgentile589 we always just estimate how far the pin is beyond max, and add to the slider. The clash caddie slider has a setting that will allow the slider to go all the way to 200%. Other than that you can just add "elevation" to the 20% if its beyond max.

    All the the shots were either low wind or straight on shots. The only high wind was straight. I could use more examples of 10+ cross winds at 50+ distance to be convinced. Does this same method work for the Rapier? Mine is definitively better than my Endbringer. Also, I seem to have a harder time hitting perfect with the Endbringer.

    Lost on this is that for quite a while the rapier’s top spin makes up for any power loss, making min distance shots into no move shots, mid distance shots into slight move shots, and max distance shots into medium, leaving out almost all actual max distance shots because the min distance short iron shot takes over then. Plus you can use these same tactics for the rapier also. Use which ever you like. I don’t care.

    two things - If you're going to suggest playing the EB at lvl 5 then it might make the video more accurate if you actually used level 5. In the 1st method you're using an EB8 and putting a decent amount of Topspin on the ball, something EB lacks until level 7. Would be unfortunate to display a video if you can't apply that amount of TS to reach the hole at your designated marks. That said, it was a solid video and thanks for sharing.

    • @JaredAGolf
      @JaredAGolf  4 роки тому

      Thanks Eric! EB Level 5 gives you 56 Top Spin which is actually more than enough to play a shot at 25% club or close enough to it and spin the ball guide to the hole. One of the reasons I recommend the NO spin option only for those lower level EB's, but at Level 5 its the money club for sure!

      @jclintcox1 4 роки тому

      That was going to be my question. I believe that it's much better to let the shot roll out rather than using back spin, but it is a bit of a risk (IMO) to use this method for the greens that are inconsistent, especially if you are using the 1st method for a shot where you are using a lot of top spin on a tricky green. But I will say this is a great tutorial and I'm glad you chose to share it with everyone.

      @@JaredAGolf so 2.3% of the total views “liked” the video…doesn’t prove the point you’re trying to make with this response. And like a lot of people mentioned, you’re using eb7,8 for rookie level winds, and the 1 high wind example was almost direct headwind, which a wide range of adjustments would’ve worked for that shot.

  • @DMACK1987

    With a high enough wind, I was still missing using 20%. I started using 15% with my EB5>6 and it's rare to miss at any distance, still feels like I'm over adjusting judging by where the ball always lands in the cup but at least it gets in the cup now.

    • @VyolentMedia
      @VyolentMedia 4 роки тому +1

      That's because both methods are faulty... The reason it "works" is because: 1. Extremely small bullseye, 2. Most of his examples are in head/tailwind.. But if we take the first method, and you look at those 2 clips with sidewind, particulary the one with 9+ wind, it doesn't go "straight at the pin".. It just barely drops left edge! Sure if you don't use an app use that method, but use it more like: 25% club = adjust 1/3 (33%) of the wind in rings (10 in wind = around 3.3 rings) , 50% club = adjust 3/5 (60%) of the wind in rings , 75% club = adjust 9/10 (90%) of the wind (10mph wind = 9 rings) , and 100% club = adjust 12/10 (120%) of the wind [EB LVL 5].
      The reason the second method works (except for the reasons mentioned above) is because his bullseye always is around 20-25% (slider) below the pin, and should be the position that he is using as a reference, but with +30% elevation instead of 20%. I play both EB6 and Rapier9 at +30% elevation from the start, adding/subtracting elevation depending on the hole, and i have not missed ONE SINGLE SHOT where i had the correct elevation for the hole beforehand.
      To J! I really appreciate the guides and tutorials made by you (and many other streamers/uploaders) and don't wanna sound unsupportive/negative. I just think that if a video like this gets posted, it should be with accurate numbers=) keep up the good work!
