In the Japanese version, Lyra says that she simply DREAMT that she saw her Marill evolve, and on Bulbapedia it says that this was actually mistranslated in the English version making her sound like a liar because she straight up just says her Marill actually did evolve. Dobbs might be saving them for part 2? Mystery dungeon protags might not have a canonical name (and a canonical form of each game) but they are still protags, and they have a distinct characteristics, plus their partners.. Explorers has a group of people that can qualify as a protag too, there's Grovyle, Bidoof, Igglybuff (wigglituff's childhood), Sunflora, and other characters in the guild

Technically we already have combo moves.... sort of. Fire pledge, water pledge, and grass pledge. They are their own moves but they all have special effects when used in conjunction with the other corresponding pledge move
Two of Reshiram&Zekrom moves also combo iirc, the second one doubles in power or something.
I don't this counts but competitive strategies like swagger-foul play or some simple ones like swords dance-earthquake
(Seen too many challenge runs and competitive battles)
In Pokémon Reborn and Rejuvenation, the pledge moves are even better because they change the field. In both games, each battle has a field, which have certain effects. They're similar to terrains, though some affect airborne Pokémon as well. There are ways to change certain fields, and the pledge moves are one way. Water Pledge + Grass Pledge creates Swamp Field, Grass Pledge + Fire Pledge creates Burning Field, and Fire Pledge + Water Pledge creates Rainbow Field.
Note: If you want to play either game, don't. They're super hard.

Summer's hair colors were a nod to the multiplayer option in Guardian signs. It had a separate story from the main game and if you are the same gender of character as your friends' it pallet swaps the characters in the session with you. On your specific game, you are always shown as the normal color, but all the others of the same gender change.
I just realised Pokemon has 92 protagonists
And more if you include Mystery Dungeon protags, tho we only know a little about them but they do have distinct characteristics and their existence gives Mystery Dungeon games a mystery or it might be just straight up isekai

Despite quite a number of these not being protagonist, more so main/side characters, this was still interesting and interesting nonetheless.
If empoleon would be ugly for contests then why may evolved her torchick into blaziken which is fighting type (name suggests specifically used for girls fancy dress contents) and bulbasaur into a giant frog (which founds to be adorable for girls)
Bruh Kenny had an empoleon in contest's as well but he won 5 ribbons so this is just dump

I've never read the official translated releases just the fan translated but the rival in the manga was named Green and the girls is named Blue. This makes sense since Red and Green came out first. Also in official artwork the rival is wearing a green shirt per his namesake and the girl is wearing a blue dress per her namesake as well.
Also makes more sense to be named Green Oak instead of Blue Oak lmao.
Because of how the games were localized (we didn't even get a Pokémon Green), Green was called Blue. Because of this, their names were swapped for Brand synergy, when localized. So Green became Blue like the games, and Blue became Green.

@@owenaspinall2046 In the Parfum Palace fireworks scene, a butler gives the player the TM for Protect, thinking the player and Shauna were going to.... you know what. So they'd have to be 18, or 16 at the youngest. Also, I remember reading somewhere that they were 18, but I could be wrong.

I read 9 volumes of Pokemon Adventures ages ago (Kanto and Johto) I also read 2 volumes of the BW manga. I own them at home. So i'm familiar with some of the manga facts. Such as that Poliwhirl rescuing Red from drowning one and that Muuna eating Black's dreams 1 you mentioned Hoops.

Wow... I guess since we are talking about Pokemon Main characters from anime, games, manga, spin-offs, i'm both surprised and disappointed that the diamond and Pearl adventures Manga series featuring the Main character Hareta (a trainer who lived with wild pokemon, and his supporting ally, Mitsumi.
Hareta: probably the only pokemon protagonist to headbutt a legendary pokemon to stop it from raging.
Mitsumi: Was formerly a Team Galactic Grunt, converted to a hero due to professor Rowan, and then became a temporary villain during an arc of the manga, only to switch back to the side off good afterwards

For Misty it is true that in the anime she isn't the only gym leader of Cerulean city but rather 1 of 4. She even fights Ash for his badge. So she just becomes the sole gym leader latter in the anime
