I’m so envious of mom’s that know exactly what to do when styling their little girl’s hair. My daughter is much older now but I started taking my daughter to the salon every 2 weeks because I wasn’t creative when doing my daughter’s hair. Great job mom!
Girl we are in the same boat, sometimes I watch these videos so I can learn but a majority of the time she is definitely to have a hair appointment booked 😂
The style came out beautiful!
For dryness, try products with more moisturizing ingredients and less oils/ butters. I know we tend to think 4c hair needs the heaviest of products & “the works” but honestly 4c hair is the most delicate. With her having low porosity, lighter products may do better at moisturizing. Look for products with water, aloe, panthenol etc.
Some great brands are melanin hair care & Camille rose.
She may also need a good clarifying wash so that her hair can absorb products better
Great tips presented in a loving way. Many are taught that water is Kryptonite to black hair but the truth is some of our hair is thirsty for moisture. Putting oil on dry hair seals in dryness. But oil after water/aloe as you mentioned is amazing at quenching the thirst and sealing in the moisture.
I love how a light spritz of simple water brings my hair back to life and makes it easier to detangle. Then i smooth down my strands/cuticles with oil. Oil on my dry hair makes my strands feel starchy and a crunchy stiff feeling. And like you said it’s hard for a cream to penetrate the strands after the oil has sealed the dry hair.

@@momandjas That's what you say. I've watched some of your videos and I feel sorry for your child. Having to sit whilst you put her hair into styles that are clearly damaging her edges. Black girl children do not need braids and their edges glued down. I see babies in prams, mainly with African mothers, and their hair is in long heavy braids. Why? The first time saw this was in 2005, after I had my first child, and I was shocked. A baby a few months in a pram with extensions. What is happening to black women?

It is what it is! Don't let the hair dryness drive you crazy. You're doing a good job! Try using products with less protein. Blueberry Bliss paste has the following protein: Keratin, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Silk Amino Acids, and Corn starch. Protein can be a bit much for Type 4, low porosity hair.

True, less protein if it’s dry! It can still be beneficial but I can see it can sometimes be maybe too much! Great tip!
@@momandjas I agree with Allison. I have low porosity hair too. To prevent dryness, I suggest the same... do not use maintenance products with protein or heavy butters in it. A clarifying shampoo and protein treatment (conditioner) once a month helps me. Jasmine's hair came out nice. You are doing a great job, Mom.
Sure I have the same type of hair like Jasmine 4c low porosity and I used to treat my hair with too much protein, it was breaking too much and became stranded the moment I stopped loading it with much protein it started growing.

Lovely video . If your finding your daughters hair is too dry try to use less oil and more leave in conditioner when the hair is wet..also you can change the conditioner if its not conditioning enough. Good luck.

Beautiful hairstyle. Love how your daughters are so calm when you do their hair. You said you had an issue with your daughter's hair always being very dry and absorbing water or drying very quickly. I had the same problem with my daughter's hair. Have since realized that she actually has high porosity hair and this was the cause. I love rubber bands but most times after using it on my babe it breaks off almost same day of using them. What could cause it or any recommendations?
Hello, it's more than likely the hair oil causing the bands to break. Now are the bands u are using PLASTIC bands? Because they are horrible at " popping a lil while after putting them in 😂. Try and make sure they are RUBBER bands only. Good luck
